A couple of years ago we played Warrington Town and there was a decent little chippy close to the ground. That was good.

Only good thing about any PSF I've ever been to.
I’ve only ever been to 1 PSF and that was because my Missus bought me a ticket as it was on my Birthday.
Sheffield Utd at home.
There was more violence that day for a meaningless friendly than at any game I’ve ever been to since.

A few seasons back someone had the bright idea of a preseason friendly against Tranmere and to only open one stand so everyone was in together.

The result was predictable

Our annual game against Forest was off the cards for about a decade after it ended up in a pitch invasion mini-riot one year for some reason. I can’t be arsed to go to it but it’s money for nothing for us, probably brings in close to six figures every year.

We started our pre-season friendlies with a 1-1 draw against Lincoln in Spain.

An assist by trialist Rowan McDonald for Antoni Sarcevic’s goal.

It's always worthwhile for us as losing to Forest is never okay, so the team have to step up a gear. Puts a bit of spice into pre season.
Definitely set the tone last season.

I don’t get why people don’t like friendlies.
You get to go to some weird places you wouldn’t normally do, get to see some of the younger players coming through the ranks, the result doesn’t matter so there is no pressure and you normally get to have a beer round the pitch.
What’s not to like?

4-0 win at Dover to start off the first team friendlies - Nichols, Hawkins, Masterson and Walker all on the scoresheet. None of the triallist family played.

I must be desperate, as I’m currently watching Bury v Bradford on YouTube.

Bradford are 4-0 up at halftime, so we all need to be quaking in our boots.

We all get a bit desperate for a football fix this time of year

My local park team (not Pools hurr hurr) would give that Bury side a game

Our mad high line with a 17 year-old starting at centre back has been getting absolutely raided by Tyrese Campbell.

Yeah that team won't win the league. Should be good for second though.

If Bradford win the league with that team then I promise I will get ‘I love Bradford City’ tattooed on one of my arse cheeks.
If my team win the league, with our current squad, I will probably need reviving...I'm certainly not going to need a trip to a tattoo parlour!

Got a good old Rogering by Stoke, 5-1 in the end.
We started with arguably 9 first team players so it was by no means an experimental set up.
We need at least one centre half and I still think we're a centre midfielder short of being competitive.

Aye a few stoke mates went to that, said it was a pretty youthful team from them as well.

The results mean sod all anyway.

We've got a lot of tidy players down the flanks but I think the spine needs some reinforcements.
I wasn't inspired by the new keeper either.

And that’s where you get these from these type of fixtures as well - good workouts.

Also the players will realise they’re not playing the hare & hound every other weekend.

Certainly worked us hard.
Telford on Tuesday, Forest next Saturday, Alfreton Tuesday after. We also sent an XI to Grantham today as well.
