Brabin is good enough to get a squad which should be winning the league into the top 3, he's done it before and he'll do it this season. He'll under achieve, but not spectacularly.

And people still naively writing off Braintree I see. Should have learnt by now that they never struggle, whoever the manager is.
Interesting fact which was put on our forum around march time is that in our 118 year history we have never once suffered relegation. Hope i am not tempting fate. Still think we will struggle this season.

I thought that after all your boasting last season and then how your season ultimately ended you might have learned a bit of humility, hope for your sake you are right or your comments will once again come back to bite you in the arse.
Don't think Chris does humility.

I've a feeling we may struggle in the preseason friendlies because the players are trying to adjust to Coopers very specific tactics and style.

We cannot afford to start the season badly because if you are playing a style dependent on passing opposition teams off the pitch you need to rack up points while the pitches are good because things will get far more difficult come Jan and Feb (and March before the pitches improve again in April).

That is the reason why when the fixtures came out I firstly looked at what our away games were during these months - (Jan) Bromley, Barrow, (Feb) Sutton, Gateshead, Tranmere, (Mar) Dagenham, Lincoln.
So not too bad. Think we have to worry about our own pitch more.

That's how we started off last season, playing unbelievable football, best I've seen at the Racecourse for some time, picking up lots of points and I think we might have been top at one point? But then we fell away after Christmas. That was down to a number of factors in my opinion though. 1. Off field problems (James Gray & Wes York) 2. Losing key players like Dom Vose and of course not having our striker on form again after he got arrested (Gray) and 3. We didn't have a team that could do the nitty gritty and grind out results.

I'll try to get around to creating the spreadsheet this weekend and posting the predictions thus far. With so many posts of non-predictions, I'm worried I'll miss something.

Keep 'em coming.

Is that Gray who is filmed being arrested and spluttering out "I'm a footballer for Wrexham" in the opening credits (and repeated every week) for the 999 What's you emergency? currently being shown on Ch4?

Has his episode been on yet? Bet he regrets saying that and being filmed alongside all the scrotes that appear on those type of shows.

Never understand why anyone acts up while being filmed (given all the reality cop shows they make these days) even the non-pissed ones. But as he got done for DUI, I guess he'd had a few.

I don't think it has yet. And yes he'd had a few, he was 3 times over the limit apparently. I don't know why a camera crew was there though..

They were obviously just filming the series (the film crew, usually one guy, will just go out on shift with a cop or two and whatever happens .. happens) and he was unlucky to get nicked when they were out filming that particular shift.

One things for sure --- The National league looks weaker since Grimsby Town have been promoted.

Yeah that makes sense. I can't imagine that this one (if it is shown) will be a long feature, probably just the police talking to him while he's handcuffed in the back of his car. I wouldn't say unlucky for this incident as he was an idiot. Unlucky was when he had to have his arm operated on because a mysterious spider bite took a big chunk out of his arm.
