I'm torn between Tadic and Redmond for the first few weeks of fantasy football. Which do you think is more likely to start once the season begins?

I expect both will start mate. Play opposite sides of the pitch. If Boufal was to take the position of one, then I'd expect it be Tadic. But, then I'd also expect Tadic to get more Fantasy League points than Redmond if he does start due to him actually being able to play a final ball.

Neither can score though.

Will Boufal actually play ever? I watched him a couple times and once he played so badly the commentator said Southampton would be better off playing with 10 men.

Hopefully Tadic mate. All about those assist points and Redmond gets basically none of those.

Lukaku missed a sitter. Lindelof 2X error led to 2 goals. Sums it up.

Good run out and a 5-2 win against LA Galaxy.

Rashford, Mkhitaryan and Herrera looked particularly lively.

Lacazette and Salah scored on their debuts. You wanna start worrying about big Rom mate. Sell him now while the markets mad.

Since it's you I'm unsure if this is true but that's pretty much who he is. He'll be brilliant now for three or four games, then brainfart, rinse repeat. He's an enigma in the strictest sense of the word.

You watched him a lot at Benfica then?

Aye, a good 10 matches mostly in the CL this past year along with continuous reports and of course, having seen him in the youth teams for Sweden, and now in the senior squad. We don't produce especially many potentially world class talents, most Swedes well into football will have seen about as much as I have. Basically, whenever I get the chance to watch him I do. In total I'd say I've seen him play 40-50 matches at the very least. How about you?

Just seems weird that you claim he has a brain fart every three or four games. Apparently Jose had been following his career closely in Portugal for awhile and say what you want about him he knows a solid centre half when he sees one, doesn't seem right that he'd sign one who's due a mistake with that sort of regularity.

I told Steven in december he's prone to brainfarts, and in his first game for you lot he produces one. It wasn't a lucky guess mate. Also, Mourinho sold Bonucci for peanuts while at Inter.

That said, three or four games was slightly over the top. He'll make a glaring mistake in about that regularity but obviously not all of them will lead to goals like this one. I think you overpaid for him but if he somehow manages to cut this out of his game he's potentially one of the top centre backs in the world a few years down the line. That's why Mourinho bought him I'm sure, because Bonucci or not there's no way in hell he'll have missed that VNL has lapses in concentration with an annoying regularity.

Fosu Mensah. Is he going to be given a fair crack at the first team? Always looked decent to me, but after a good first impression he got half the number of games under Jose than under LVG.

The dos Santos goal wasn't a brain fart from Lindelof. Maybe he could've judged his run better (and maybe if he was match fit he would've) but dos Santos' first touch was exquisite.

Anyway you're the first person I've seen who's claimed to follow his career closely and rates him so lowly so I guess we'll just have to wait and see how he does.

I'm not going to rush to judge Lindelöf just yet in his first ever game for United, in a pre-season friendly, in a new system (3-5-2)*, with new teammates.

I remember G-Dragon posting a comical gif of Bailly making an error from his Villarreal days on the day he signed for United and we've seen how well he has done in a United shirt since.

*Not quite sure why we are testing that out in pre-season. I know that three at the back has been kind of been en vogue since LVG brought it back to the Premier League (before Conte showed us all how it should actually be played) but I'm not expecting us to do a Wenger and hop on the bandwagon by making it our main formation again.

I rate him as "potentially world class if he can cut out this one problem". If anyone rates him above that I swear to god they haven't seen the guy play. I rate him quite highly compared to most people I know, none of what I've said is especially controversial north of Denmark. The regular mistakes you can confirm yourself on whoscored, but then you'd think I'm overselling the guy considering his horrible rating on there. 6.58 in the Champions League last season and you guys think he's a definite improvement to your central defense. I don't know, I feel most non-Swedes tend to describe the FM-version of VNL which is quite inaccurate. Not that I'd imply any causation within this correlation, mind ...

Jordon Ibe actually scored a goal the other day, in a 2-1 win over Portuguese side Estoril. Put through one-on-one, he displayed the first piece of composure I've ever seen from him. More of the same please Jordon.

We beat Bury yesterday 3-1.

Goals from Mounie, Ince and Kachunga (PEN).

Confident dominating game with Palmer, Mounie, Ince & Malone the standouts.

He's well capable of scoring epic goals, he did that a few times at Liverpool, but he seems to lack confidence badly and until he starts believing in himself a bit more, he won't progress on his potential.

Lukaku grabbed his first, good job or he'd be up for a transfer.
Valencia got himself a straight red. Takes some doing in a friendly.

Valencia went clean through the back of the player, it was pretty forceful. The tackle was apparently "revenge" for the recipient injuring Mata earlier on in the game but I only caught the highlights so I didn't see that.

It's good to see Lukaku get off the mark, it would have been awful for the lad to be shipped out so soon after joining. He can rest easy for another couple of nights at least.
