There’s something strangely satisfying about being called shit every time you beat somebody's team!

You were poor but didn't need to be great to beat our 10 men, you seem similar to us, great team on paper but very one dimensional. Fair play on the win today anyway is that 7 points from 9?

Agree, but I will take it every week if it means we keeping taking points.

((Disclaimer - Actually we are not shit but solid, becoming hard to beat, taking advantage of our lucky breaks and have an on fire Nugent Vydra partnership)

This year will be different to the last - Newcastle and Brighton dominated most of the season last time out, can't see that happening this year. Teams will blow hot and cold - it'll be who manages to put a run together at the right time. Wolves by far and away look the strongest team so far then, although it is still relatively early days still.

And yet the top three have opened up a four point gap after 13games

It's hardly gargantuan is it. Two dodgy games and it's wide open again with the chasing pack up your arse.

The point I'm making is, no 1 or 2 teams look capable of running away with it and being promoted by March, every team with promotion ambition will have sticky spells, it'll be a closer run contest than last year

Your original post said "This year will be different to the last - Newcastle and Brighton dominated most of the season last time out, can't see that happening this year."

Except that compared to last season after 13 games, Wolves (29) have 1 point more than Newcastle did (28), and there was no four point gap anywhere in the top half of the table. Both Cardiff and Sheffield Utd have the same number of points as 2016-17's second-placed club.

Two dodgy games in any season and you have clubs overtaking you. At this point, three clubs do seem to be pulling away...and long before Newcastle and Brighton did last year.

The general thinking from our lot is that Cardiff and Sheffield united will die off as the season goes on. I disagree and think both could nick that automatic spot with wolves. Just cannot see wolves messing up with the genuine quality they have. Leeds are still a good team which yesterday proved and really should make the play offs, but it wouldn't surprise me if they have too many bad runs and fuck it up again. The same goes for us and I'd be majorly disappointed if we failed to make the play offs. The thing is apart from the odd game we really are not playing well, but still find ourself 5th. Still early days yet.

The proof will be in the pudding, but if you think a 4 point "gap" after not playing every team yet is pulling away, then I want whatever you've been drinking.

You started this by referring to last season. I was merely stating the facts. There's three-quarters of the season to go. Any of the top ten clubs or more could win this division, not disputing that.

Yes, including you. I do agree with him that it's close and that there are a lot of good clubs doing well this season. That there's a gap is indisputable, but there are still 33 games to go. I reckon that down to 8th (Preston) are capable of the top 2 finish, and actually down to about 17th for the play-offs.

As we get into winter, I feel some of the more traditional "tougher" sides...Cardiff, Sheff Utd, Preston, Leeds...will have a better pace, while some of us probably depend on buying one or two players in the January sales...you, Wolves, Villa, Norwich, Derby, Fulham.

We feel strong right now, but injury to Neves, Saiss or Jota could derail our season. We have less depth than many of our fans realise. That much was obvious at the Southampton League Cup match. Although we won that, we played an hour of nervy, uncoordinated football where we were reminded that many in our squad are still not used to 3-4-3.

I think the point is what the table will look like towards the end of the season and I agree that possibly Wolves will have a decent cushion but I don't think the top two will be clear cut at any point until right towards the end but that's just my gut instinct.

It is of course possible, but I'd bet every penny I have that we won't be near the top at the end of the season.
This isn't being reactionary after the loss yesterday, I've expected us to tail off all season. Fully expect we will be mid-table which I'd be happy with (though after a good start it would be a little bit disappointing)

If we are still near the top at Christmas then we will likely spend on a few reinforcements (5 out for yesterday's game) as we've just seen our strength in depth isn't all that (coupled with a very poor performance across the team, and a good one by Leeds).

Key thing for us is to bounce back from 2 disappointing results quickly, whether with a cup win on Tuesday, or in the league next weekend.

Aston Villa needs strengthening when January comes in order to mount a title/promotion challenge - their start of the season showed how horrible their depth is when a few of their starting XI are injured.

Everyone beats you whether it’s 10 or 11 men, no great achievement. You’re a great side on paper though

It was my point originally, better four points ahead than behind. If Leeds absolutely hammer us next Friday you’ll still be behind us on points, whereas if we nick a win we’ll be 7 points clear after only 14 games.

This league is so close. We, having done virtually nothing all season and lost over half of our games, are 3 points off 6th.

I fully expect Wolves to win the league and can see Boro eventually clicking and battering sides. After that no idea, fancy someone like Sheffield United to continue to do well whilst Villa/Cardiff/Norwich/Wednesday/Sheep will all find their way up there one way or another.

Bristol will fall away I imagine.

Best team by a distance again, 10 games now on the bounce where we've been the better side, no sign of the bubble bursting with what I'm watching
Assume you didn't watch the game we beat you then? You were a good side but we deserved our win, most of your fans seemed to admit it to

Probably, because of injuries to key players which we seem to have had in abundance already this season, and our manager.
