I don't see the problem people have with their style of play. Football is football, and it can be played in different styles. If it works for a certain team, then why not use it? It's worked for Stoke over the years, Bolton under Allardyce, Wimbledon in the 90s had some success from it.

Besides that was more tongue in cheek. I know Cardiff play it very well, but it's absolutely shite to watch though. Football us supposed to be entertainment, and twisting your neck looking for the ball in the air for 90 minutes isn't my idea of entertainment.

It's not pretty, but it works, and it could potentially earn the club millions. I can see why this day and age it's frowned upon more, but I'd be very happy if I was a Cardiff fan, and I'd love the fact that teams and other fans hated playing us.

Long way to go yet, plenty of time for bad runs to turn around and they've got a decent run of games through March and April. They're far from secure but I'd be amazed if they fell away completely

Based on what I’ve seen against us, and numerous games you’ve been involved in on tv. Out of all the teams in the top 10 currently, your style is by far the most mind numingly boring.

2700, and there will be a few hundred in the home ends no doubt. There is no general sale for the game, so you need a villa booking history, but villa fans will no doubt be getting tickets for Wolves mates. No way I'd do it. Apparently wolves fans are buying off seat wave too, but that's a risk, as seatwave check in with villa to see if that person has a booking history with villa. They failed to sell out two years on the bounce at our place in the prem.

Nah, just pointing out your attempts to lure in one of us to have a dig.

We're on a bad run but hardly choking, I think we all knew we were punching when we were up in second. We were probably the most clinical team in the league pre Christmas, winning games we shouldn't have. Now that's levelled out a bit we're dropping back to our expected levels.

Hopefully we'll pick up a bit and hang in the top 6, would be a good achievement for Rowett in his first full season.

Villa as a club need to be in the premier league. Money is one reason, but I also think it's important for a club like us to be making a challenge, and trying to be one of the top clubs again. I'm hoping with our new owner we have a chance of at some point challenging the top 6 again. I will admit though my desire for us to get back in the prem, is not as strong as say Leeds fans who have been out of it for so long. If we still had Lerner, or someone else who weren't bothered about ambition, but just wanted to cash in by not getting relegated from the prem, then I'd say fuck it. I am very intrigued to find out how high our owner wants to genuinely take us, so it will be exciting if we go back up, I hope. I will miss the championship though. Proper fans, more competitive, and in some small ways it's like how football used to be a few years back.

Not often I agree with Ben but this is spot on, would much rather be watching my team play like Cardiff do than the boring, sterile, insipid losing shit I'm currently watching.

We got stuck with the Longball tag under Wilkinson in the 80s but it was exciting and often very successful, get the ball forward quickly and get wingers to get crosses into the box.
Don't get me wrong the winning football we had under Atkinson was much more pleasing than the Wilkinson style, but winning games is fantastic and that style is often more exciting to watch than many football "purists" will admit.
