Yeah as Chief said, no other option .We need to press the reset button basically, run the club sensibly with sustainable plans and hopefully make progress. Sad thing is a good bunch of the losers in the squad are here next year so it’s going to take some time before we can challenge to get in the league again. Off the pitch just want stability and build gradually from there.

We might get to witness George and Munns appear in consecutive games next season! :eyes:

Apart from Harrison's signings who will all be on two year deals I wonder who is actually contracted for next season, Magnay and Oates both signed new deals in the summer which you would imagine would be two year deals.

Not including the kids, Harrison, Donnelly, Featherstone, Woods, Hawkins and Rodney's contracts would all be up this year by my reckoning.

Craig Hignett’s a scouser so doesn’t talk like that. I’m sure you’ll hear from the other Craig at some point though.

And the least shocking news of the season..

Raj Singh takeover complete, Craig Hignett new Director of Football and the search for a new manager begins.

Let's all just forget this season happened and we'll piss this tinpot league next year :animatedf:

Very cautious about this but let's see, no other choice but to give him a chance.

Heard a strong rumour today that Armstrong from Blyth is being brought in as the new manager.

So it’s Bates then, Twitter is in meltdown.

TBH I’m not sure what planet some fans live on. We’re recovering from being shafted by previous owners, we haven’t got the money at the moment to just go out and get anyone. Bates lost 4 in 14 with a threadbare squad and got them playing well particularly away. Players wanted him and he’s going to keep two good assistants in Ged McNamee and Ross Turnbull, who’ve done wonders for free. Plus Hignett as DOF and he can spot a good player so I don’t think it’s all that bad really. He clearly wanted the job and he has the support structure around him so let’s give him a chance.

Exactly, were people expecting Singh to go out and head hunt a manager at another club and pay out compo? We're still on wobbly legs financially, giving it to Bates makes sense when you look at the other candidates in the running, what little money they have in the budget needs to be spent on rebuilding the squad, not spunking it on yet another manager.

While can’t say to what extent Saturday’s game was a consequence of Rovers taking it easy, thought Pools were a well-organised side and didn’t give the ball away much. As someone to stabilise the club and have a better season in 18/19, it looks like a reasonable appointment from the outside.

Yes, Hartlepool knocked the ball around well on Saturday, definitely a better side in possession that most at this level. However, they did not have much up front and we gifted them both goals.
