I didn’t think Bromley were that bad when we played them. Albeit you didn’t really need to cheat to beat us. Boreham Wood were worse for gamesmanship I thought.

Nothing will ever top Forest Green in their L2 promotion season though for that. Jamille Matt elbowing on every single header, Ebou Adams throwing himself to the ground after the wind hit him, surrounding the ref cause they gave a throw in against them in the 90th minute when they were about 6-0 up.

It was more them running across the pitch to celebrate in front of us after each goal when it was absolutely pissing it down and we're on an open terrace. What you don't see just out of shot on this video is their entire bench doing the same thing as well...

Glad I asked.
In fairness it does seem to be a mostly Grimsby-led hatred campaign of our good friends up at Hayes Lane. If it was division-wide then there might be something in it, but as far as it goes they just seem like one of plenty of non-leaguers who will a) try everything they can to win and b) celebrate hard when they do.

Every time poor old Rob Lainton played at Bromley for the last few seasons he has ended up in hospital. That fat bloke has got them playing fairly robust football.

That said I would take Bromley over Borehamwood every single time.

Wait, they're different clubs? There's too many of those indistinct London outfits that are desperate to trip over any outstretched leg/goad opposition fans into reacting when they score, etc. to bother learning

That’s because the non league section all migrated to the other forum, pop on there and you will see it is not just Grimsby fans.

Very similar with Stockport, Rochdale, Oldham, and Wigan all being one of those clubs in the Manchester shadow who mainly play in blue. All practically the same realistically.

So true, these teams are near Manchester but not many know whereabouts and which side.

Wasn't there a team called Bury too?

Stockport County.
I reckon if you've never heard of Oldham or Stockport you'll definitley not know there are two professional football teams in Nottingham.

We hate them more than the rest for sure, but nobody else likes them. There's celebrating hard and there's going out of way and running past your own fans (or jumping off your bench and running down the touchline if you're a sub or a staff member - this included Andy Woodman I might add) to goad the opposition fans when they're on an uncovered terrace in a biblical storm. THREE TIMES. I remember coming out the ground that night and there was a policewoman who I had a brief chat to and she was relieved that it didn't kickoff after the third goal.

There are good and bad NL clubs that adopt the same standard tactics but there are reasons why the likes of Bromley and Borehamwood are universally disliked and the likes of Maidenhead aren't.

Andy Woodman lives in Grimsby's head rent free. Which is only marginally more than the average rent in Cleethorpes.

It's not about regionalism, these soul-crushing non-entities are just always from London for some reason. Spend some time down there and you'll understand how horrible it is playing the likes of Bromley Wood every other week

Woodman and Bromley have managed to whip the normally quite respectful and reserved Southend lot into a proper hate filled frenzy. That beef could be bigger than the Bromley vs Grimsby one. He does have a real knack for it.
(ps this board dog slow at loading for everyone else?)
