It's not essential that we go up this season and never has been, if we do then the whole thing could plateau a little bit anyway really as we'd probably just be looking at survival in L1 being the only aim the year after. We're Stockport a year behind anyway, as everyone knows.
Nice try, but that's not gonna work around here. Anything other than promotion is another abject failure for Parky.

No he's right youlu should be winning it on your budget, but agree it ultimately doesn't matter if you finish in the top three.
Disagree, Stockport are breaking records this year. Even with our budget, we are only in our 1st season back to this level. To suggest we should be toppling a record-breaking side is unreasonable and our fans are thankfully not on your side on this one.

Stockport and anyone else are irrelevant when you're dropping £6m+ a year on wages in the fourth tier. It's good that you're not arsed about winning the title as it takes the pressure off, but that's undeniably a budget that should be finishing 1st in this division. Not even up for debate.

8th biggest budget at little old Notts, mixing it with the big spending boys this season whilst the Danish circus owners continue to run a pretty tight ship and add much needed beer pumps to the Stadium for thirsty owners. New container bar looks good, hope it works smoothly. Knowing the Notts of old it would be understaffed or run out.

Agree.

Wrexham should be winning the league with their resources.

I'll say this first so you don't think I'm complaining about the result. Barrow deserved to win that game. Probably 3-0. We went back to sideways passing. Great possession stats bugger all else.

The ref told our players he didn't see Wright laying on the ground. The blind idiot almost tripped over him. Seems he also told Lindsey he is under no obligation to stop the game for a head injury. Now it seems he booked a player twice (I didn't notice that).

We will have bad days. When you look at the players we had on the pitch we, as fans, have to accept that.

Top striker couldn't get into the Grimsby team last season. 2 no. 10s were playing National North/South last season. Kelly (who was praised earlier) was relegated with Rochdale. We signed one centre back from Brackley, another is on loan from Chesterfield where he can't get on the pitch and the keeper was giving palpitations to Aldershot fans last season....oh, and Gladwin was playing and he can't run anymore.

I watched the Notts County v Bradford match and I have to say Bradford for most of it looked worse than they did in the play offs last season.

Is there no way of them calling Young back from his loan at Swindon? Since he's banging them in for fun.

What is it with Bradford letting so many players leave or go out on loan and they end up being so good?
Jordan Gibson has been immense for us so far in L1 despite our struggles.

They can recall him in Jan and have pretty much said they will be doing, I believe.

Eoin Doyle is another one they did this with when he formed that partnership with Jerry Yates at Swindon.

6m?

Double it and add 2.

Agree, we're breaking records playing a teenager and Akil Wright in our defence in addition to a mammoth injury crisis. Wrexham should really be in the driving seat with their squad of experienced championship and league one pros.

We won't get ahead of ourselves, we're going to have a dip again at some point, it's how we respond.

I think all teams will try and bring a couple in Jan, obviously some will be more high end than others. But I think we'll look to make Bailey's deal permanant, a Louie Barry style player (we're unlikely to get the same quality but we don't have another player of that ilk) to cover his absence which will still be until the end of Feb.
Yep your obviously going to have a drop in form as we all will ,wrexham have the cash but i think its down to more than money ,four new january signing could wreck a season as much as bolster it think we will be top three at the end of the season but i wouldnt risk my house on it

Yes, I should not waste my time posting on this L2 forum as Carlisle will never be down here again because we are getting new American owners next week and they are going to pump loads of money into modernising our club and we'll be splashing the cash in January to keep us in L1 and then push forward on to better things.

Aaaaand youuuull be down in the Non-league forever being a run down tinpot club.

:fing::wave:

Carlisle will be playing Champions League football by the end of the decade.

Are you taking off the hundreds of Forest fans who attended? :bg:If not better check those figures again sunshine.

I make it 9633 home fans for match televised by Sky in November. They aren't dropping one bit chap. I know you are desperate for them to fall, but don't worry they will, you just have to show some patience.

But you are right, it's true, your stadium can't accommodate that many home fans you would need to build a 4th stand to manage that.

How was it less than nine thousand Notts fans? Did you forget to carry the 1? At least you now know the truth is over 9500 home fans. Not happening at Field MFI until you complete your stadium.

Oops.

So you are going to compare all Notts attendances to the Nottinghamshire derby? :brill: Yup or attendances are falling like a stone using your barometer

Don't know much about these Americans wanting to take over Carlisle but the bits I've read the fact they are unwilling to pay off the existing debt doesn't scream 'cash rich' to me. Compare it to Gallinson, Reynolds, and Stott who just came in no questions asked and bought the club and wiped out the debt themselves. No pissing around.

No American owner has ever done a bad job of running a football club, so can’t see it being anything other than a roaring success.
Are you still owned by that American millionaire who took over years ago claiming to be a lifelong Barrow fan/grew up in Barrow?

Nah, he had to sell up pretty quickly when his business started going to shit in America. He seemed genuine (well I didn’t believe he was a diehard fan but he was definitely from Barrow) and didn’t do a lot wrong, but never really delivered on any big promises other than getting us out of the Conference North with the most ridiculous squad that level has ever seen.

Our largest shareholder is a different America based Barrow born guy though.
