Ashton just looks like an angry man now. It's said to see Gary Jones how he is now because we came up against him many times in his Rochdale days in L2 and was a class above.

Much much better performance from us all over the pitch today. Chez Isaac and Jake Goodman started today and our midfield was much stronger as a result. Aldershot sprayed the ball around well from time to time but without a lot of impact and threat to our goal. Rendell looked a shade of his former self.

Yep, fair shout you did a proper job on us. We had plenty of possession we just didn't do anything constructive with it. Very disappointing considering how well we have played in the 4 games previously. Rendell has just played 5 games in 14 days after a year out, up until today he has been very sharp but ideally he would have only played in 3 of those but injuries and a paper thin squad means he's had to play the lot.

As an aside, Akinola is very good, got little service today but what he did do was quality. cored a very good goal too, albeit from a foul on Rendell to get possession.

We really should have about 8 today nevermind 4! Belford kept the score down even if he should have seen red and his better saves came after that. The ease we got through your defence time and again was scary especially for goals 2 and 3.
Grimes always did have a flashpoint but the kick out at Woodyard was stupid and fair play to the ref for red carded but belford should have been too as Margetts went round him.
Promising debut for Anderson and after his struggles in the previous two home games it was great to see him stick the chances away, a perfect hat trick plus the pen. Most scored in a home game since Tony Lormor in 1991!!! Jamie Forrester got 4 in an away game in August 2006.

God it was hard work watching the match today, with neither team really creating much at all, yet for all that it turned out to be a very comfortable three points.
With some of he players Barrow had signed I was expecting a hell of a lot more from them, but to be fair they only came alive once they had got the penalty last couple of minutes (no idea why Hannah was on the bench, that was a strange one)

From our perspective, despite our loss against BW where we just panicked beyond belief when we went down to ten men, we're doing okay again.
Okay August's fixtures have been very kind to us, and when we look back we probably played Wrexham and Eastleigh away at exactly the right time, and so poor were Barrow today the same is likely to be said of them.
Ferriby were equally dire when we played them but again they have also picked up a bit since then. With three more winnable games up next, Torquay, Aldershot and Southport our confidence could be sky high before we then play FGR, Dagenham, York and Lincoln all in 14 days next month

But we will have to measurably improve on today that's for sure, but three points is three points, and who knows if we are in the mix at the end of next month we could easily end up staying there all season again.

If either of them were like that we'd be doing ok. Our best sides have been built around scousers who were born angry. We even had a conversation today about how many nutters who have been sent down who we're the soul of our team we've had.

On the train back from Lime Street, I thought we did pretty well though I can't argue at Rovers winning. Definitely feel more comfortable about staying in this league if Tranmere are the cream of it. Terrific support from the travelling Stones too.

We weren`t at our best today with some players especially Connor Jennings looked leggy for most of the game although that is not surprising give the number of games we have played lately. Definitely need the 7 day break before the next game. Having said that we dominated the first half for the most part and should have gone in at least another goal up as we certainly had enough chances. Fair play to Maidstone though who played much better in the second half and on that showing should have no problems staying up this season. Special kudos to their fans who were fantastic all game and also to the referee for once. Mr Buckhouse was probably the best ref I have seen at Prenton Park since we arrived in this League.

How do they stand on the hydeometre....
Hyde had a go at the very least, they knew they were dire but they scored goals even if their defence was leakier than Jodie Marsh's knickers. Southport and Ferriby didn't even bother to venture into our half.

Sounded like a right bunch of dirty bastards and the referee let them do it..

Coming from a FGR fan after the way they performed at our place last season, that is one hilarious comment.

Damson Park remains a fortress after a fantastic comeback in the last ten minutes with goals from Andy Brown and Harry White. 10 points from 5 games is a remarkable return and we are now 6 points clear of relegation. Danny Lewis made some good saves today and Liam Daly was dominant again. Guiseley look better than Bromley, but it's clear to see why they are down at the bottom.
The next 6 fixtures are tough.

Can anyone post a link, am useless at such things?
There is a link on the Dover Forum, where Justin Allen (Its on his FB page as well) does a proper interview with Dover manager and number two Chris Kinnear and Jake Leberl. Forget it's Dover, it's actually a good general footballing interview, not like the usual sycophantic drivel most post match end up being

Can only really remember them having one chance of note, they really were awful.
We had several of the starting 11 with a virus hence the early subs, apparently Margetts was suffering with it....

I think Southport first shot and shot on target was in the 65th minute from a free kick that pea rolled into Farman's arms.

Almond is good enough, no doubt about it. Ashton hasn't got the legs. I never doubt the opinion of Barrow fans, as much as you guys don't doubt ours. Good luck if Coughlin gets a game!
Those who saw him play at the Stalybridge friendly weren't exactly filled with confidence...

It's almost like Cox is afraid to even try and win away from home - totally different set-up, where we defend for 90 mins, instead of at home where things are a bit more about patient build-ups and a proper front two. Hannah gets completely isolated in the away system, barely even having a touch, so not much point in him being there.

We are quite good from midfield forwards but can't defend balls into our box. The way we have defended so far we need to score three to draw and four for a win!

Well, that was fun.

Was physically laughing after we made it 3-0 in 20 bloody minutes, not seen anything like it in my time supporting us! Absolutely devastating 10 minute spell that killed the game, can't even begin to think what Garry Hill said in that home dressing room at half time.

Truth be told, aside from that spell in the first half we weren't actually too great shakes. Bit of complacency probably crept in but the second half was very poor and had Woking managed a 2nd, you wouldn't have bet against them going on to find an equaliser. Still, we have a side that's willing to put bodies on the line and give every last ounce to defend the lead and maintain our advantage, something we lacked so so much throughout the last couple of seasons.

Woking were poor and will in all likelihood be a bottom quarter side, but I still imagine they'll avoid relegation. As for us, most enjoyable it's been watching Dagenham in half a decade and long may it continue!

This has to be the poorest Conference in history. Ferriby were easily the worst team I've ever seen at Crabble and that's including our days in the dog and duck leagues.

To think I was slightly concerned for our safety in the league this season seems ridiculous when there are teams actually managing to lose to North Ferriby. Shame I can't make it to Torquay next week because they must be fucking dreadful

Snoozefest. Mills doesn't even do the exciting football anymore but it's pretty much like we thought with this group of players, we've improved the defence but there's just nothing up front. Curtis Tilt looked a class above again. We need a quality midfielder and a striker to be anywhere near the playoffs.
Yeah it was just boring wasn't it, barring a couple of good chances we had in the first half

Credit to the fans for still managing over 4K with the dross football being served up.

Powell is just another Cieslewicz, Rutherford is the only decent forward who looks any sort of threat. Desperately need White playing soon.

At least we look decent in defence, Tilt does look completely at home and yeah he'll be off to the FL next season.

Dagenham away on TV next week, I would encourage nobody to watch it, it will be boring (at least on our part)

Can't argue with any of that.

Hopefully White will recover and play some part of this season. In the meantime I'd like to see Harrad and McDonogh play together. Whoever we use I hope we stick with 2 up top.

We do need a new midfielder though.

Totally agree, despite all the players some have brought in and the money they have spent in doing so, BW, Barrow, Eastleigh (and Moore says he wants three more players this week!!!) FGR, Dagenham, Gateshead some of the performances they have given have been dire. I also agree that Ferriby were way worse than poor and being a bit more clinical it could have 5,6,7, so to see them win two on the bounce staggers me. Yet without really playing well, we have won three on the bounce and not had to break sweat to do so, and that could easily continue for the next three games after which we 'could' easily be second in the league

I think you rather need some forwards as well as I think only Torquay have scored less

Can only apologise to the Barrow supporters for the heavy handed stewards showing their ugly faces again at Crabble.

Ludicrous to segregate for 37 Barrow supporters and as always, segregation leads to more trouble than it prevents.

The sooner the club realises that they don't need 25 agency bouncers to control a non league football match the better.

That probably cost dover more then they made from the travelling support

Yeah I know, I don't understand it. Our security staff are the biggest hooligans in the ground, I've heard one bragging about a fight he had with one of your supporters last season. They're an embarrassment and a disgrace and a colossal waste of money

We're not the only ones though, seen the same crap from stewards at Forest Green, Wrexham and others. They get away with murder (sometimes literally) because of the badge on their arms

Sadly I find myself agreeing with you about this, to a degree. I know there was the incident a couple of seasons ago when we played against Grimsby, if I refer to it as beachballgate it should jog the memory, where nobody involved really covered themselves in glory. When I first started watching Rovers the stewards were largely supporters, many of whom were unpaid volunteers, that was just how it was. Time moves on and a lot of clubs have tried to run themselves more professionally with view to making the transition to the Football League, we are certainly not alone in that respect. This has resulted in hiring in staff on matchdays and it is probably fair to say that the club has less control over who is hired in to do the job, one of the dangers of contractorisation. I would still encourage anyone who has an issue with stewards to contact the club concerned and register their displeasure, if enough people do this then surely they will have to take appropriate action. In extreme cases, if you believe an assault has taken place, then just report it to the Police.
