I wonder if this latest period of being a competent keeper is going to end as well for Adam as his last one did.

Not sure i'd describe him as competent, i'm terrified from every corner. He did make one of the best saves i've ever seen at Portsmouth, though, so you know.

In all statistical seriousness, I reckon Curle must have one of the highest percentages of draws of any manager that's been around for so many games. We drew all the bloody time as well.

Sounds familiar haha, you never know whether he's going to just flap it into the path of an onrushing striker or not.

Funnily enough in Curle's first season we had a crazy spell of, I think it was 25 consecutive games without a draw.

I don't care if he wasn't a good enough manager for your club, he is working wonders with us and we love him up here!

I don't mind Curle, he underachieved a little bit with us having been given a massive budget, but was clearly sacked too soon and his overall record was very good. Just find it interesting how similar his time with you has been to his time here, hopefully he can get you over the line.

He has been with us for just over 2 years now, longer than he was with you. The difference is that we have given him time and he is benefiting from that as we do not have a trigger happy chairman like you did. Having a big budget isnt always the solution, it is having the time to stabalise a squad and then move forward from there. Plus Curle did reveal himself to have had a drinking problem before he joined us.

Things were a bit different at Notts though, he came in with the club doing quite well but given you'd just sacked Martin Allen I guess your board were of the view that anywhere outside the playoffs wasn't good enough. I presume Curle was expected to get you promoted and only had one summer to try and build a squad before he too was sacked presumably for not quite being in the play-offs.

When he came in at Carlisle we were adrift at the bottom of League Two and his only target was to avoid relegation, following that up by not quite making the playoffs the following season, even though it hadn't been good enough for County in the time he was there, was seen if anything as performing beyond expectations by our fans and board as we had resigned ourselves even if we avoided relegation, to trying to consolidate for a few seasons.

Getting given that second summer on the back of last season is what has made all the difference, and he never got that opportunity at Notts, but with previous regimes signing up players on two-year contracts and money being too tight to bring players in without being able to release others, it does often take two summers for a manager to create a squad of their own players.

On the 25th of March 2014 in League One, Carlisle drew 0-0 with Shrewsbury Town. It was a crap game played between two relegation candidates in which neither showed any sort of drive to stay up.

There hasn't been a goalless draw at Brunton Park* in any competition since that day.

To be correct, there hasn't been a goalless Carlisle home game, since not all of our home games have been at Brunton Park.
