HMRC issued a winding up order by the sound of it. Multi million tax bill that is owed. It will obviously get paid, but what a mess it looks like we are in. A lot of whispers saying he wants out too.

Not sure what you've tagged me for mate but if you want my opinion then it's that I have no sympathy for a club that hasn't been paying their taxes.

I think we may have been bowled a googly with this bloke of ours. Not much available cash, and a few of his companies are very suspect, and like us are making a loss. Can't see Bruce sticking around, and can also see us being sold off very soon. Rumours starting at the weekend about him wanting out, but have soon picked up pace over the last day or two. Then this tax bill comes out.

A bad season for Chinese owners in England, bar at Wolves. We almost got relegated, West Brom did. Birmingham just about stayed in the Championship, while Xia has seemingly put the future of Aston Villa being competitive in the second tier at risk for the sake of John Terry.

Have you still got another season of parachute payments? Said it in another thread but sell your high earners and play your kids. You're lucky at Villa that you have a very good academy that produces good talent. O'Hare looks quality when I've seen cameos or him but he can't get a look in.

Yes, but only 15m. We need to break even with FFP, This tax bill, and god knows what else. We have a big wage bill and tbf our only proper asset where we will get big money is Grealish. We do have good youngsters. Everything is up in the air at the minute.

Entirely plausible, and a reason Wynness was searching for other finance to prop up cash flow short term. It was at Wolves where I intimated this could be an issue but it seems they dodged that bullet and it hit Villa.

To be fair Fosun have investments all over the world so switching money around I doubt would be a big issue for us. Not sure if the good Dr is in the same boat, but I guess not.

Lerner gets an unfair bit of stick imo. He made some terrible decisions near the end of his reign and basically ran us like a championship club for the last few seasons. He put his money where his mouth was for the first 3 years though. I understand why he said fuck it, I'm not pumping no more cash in, but your average supporter can't see past that.
