It’s Sky Sports they are out of touch in regard to anything except the top ten in the PL so it’s not surprising but definitely lacking class.

Thought so.

This isn't some shitty transfer deadline day countdown bollocks, this is people's livelihoods and vital parts of their community that mean a hell of a lot to many people, that are on the brink of collapse.

Anything to generate 'excitement' for the armchair premier league supporter.

Oh look, 30 seconds until that quaint little club Bury closes, how sad. Now where's my MUFC tv channel!

Class and Sky Sports words that should never be in the same sentence, I feel for the Bury fans we came so close 20 years ago I truly hope a Phoenix club can arise

Well if I was a Bury fan I would be organising a protest outside Dale’s home and making his life as miserable as legally possible!

I suppose it has to be reported but not in the way they've done it. Show some class and empathy FFS Sky.

Peterborough chairman says he personally knows somebody wants to buy Bury and has the money.

Twitter reckons that it’s Norman considering him and Darragh are friends.

Beyond parody as well, given Sky's contribution to this whole mess.

I'd rather start a Phoenix club in Division 7 of Power League on a Sunday than have that disaster anywhere near my club.

SSN now saying good news as there are 3 fresh offers on the table? Do we have any time to get it through? Should we get any more time? Do I want any more time? I really don't know. I was well in to the grieving process and now hopes have been raised, and likely dashed again.

They're chancers, Joseph Cala (Morecambe and Gateshead) and Norman Smurthwaite (Port Vale) are two.

As many have said, a pre season meeting where all clubs have to show funding for the whole season or you are out has to be implemented.

Which could disadvantage clubs which are responsibly run and don't spend money they don't have, like wot we do (most of the time).

Anyway, I don't want to take this off topic and although it's obviously a complete clusterfcik of a situation I just hope Bury can find a positive way out of it.

That's what happens when you set stupid deadlines, you end up panic selling the club to someone like one of those two.

Think about it, never going to work. A year with no income and an owner who has to service a mortgage on the ground or lose it (to himself more than likely) plus all the other ongoing expenses.

The club will be gone well before a year was up and houses built on Gigg lane.

It's not often I defend the EFL, but it's not really a stupid deadline. They've had long enough to sort this.

When was the CVA approved? June? July?

Why would it? All you are doing is showing where your operational money is comeing from - ticket sales, investments etc. It's just a case of showing your financial planning for the year.

The club was already panic sold when Day bought it for a pound because the EFL didn't want to lose a club mid season. He should never have been allowed to buy it in the first place.

What's the alternative?

Either rush through a sale, probably to some chancer, or liiquidate.

If the club is inactive on the pitch for a few months it doesn't have to mean no income, you can organise fundraising events, play friendlies etc. Just take the pressure off and ensure that a sale with full due diligence and a proper fit and persons test can take place, and that no further disruption is caused to other clubs, whilst at the same time giving the club every chance to survive.

From what people have said the EFL wasn't even aware of that sale when it happened.

? It's exactly what Exeter City were doing every year they were in the conference. Hardly disadvantaging anyone to try an get clubs to live within their means. The National League style end of season AGM is the least the EFL and Premier League should implement and I'm saying that supporting a club that would be thrown out if we had one at the end of this season.

Good luck to the Bury fans in whatever happens, the club and Gigg Lane always has a spot in Southend hearts after 1990/91. If a phoenix does rise I just hope you can remain at Gigg Lane.

That's not showing we have the funds, it's showing we think/hope to have the funds.

Maybe if the club was owned by supporters or a 'good' owner but Day is not going to continue to pay rates for Gigg lane or the mortgage at that ridiculous interest rate (115% wasn't it) .

It is better for the Bury supporters for the club to be liquidated now. Even if they were saved at the eleventh hour, do they really want to lurch from crisis to crisis with one appalling owner after another ? The club is in such a mess that nobody credible is going to take it on.

They are in the same position as Chester were under Vaughan, and it would be better for them just to start again in the North West Counties.

Don't care if I get shot down for this (I'm an MK Dons supporter so what do I know anyway right?) but if the EFL extend Bury's deadline further it's beyond ridiculous.

Just stop dragging it out and kick them out of the league. I know it's not the fault of Bury's supporters, but they need kicking out to be made an example of to deter a repeat and for new standards to be set re: appointing new owners.

It's beyond irritating now how the EFL delay statements, hearing how much of a twat Steve Dale is......now hearing that he has informed the EFL of three new offers shortly before the deadline is just the latest annoying episode in this sorry story.

Stop messing about EFL, kick them out and move on.
