If Hodgson doesn't start Vardy up front with Kane I'm gonna be fuming and cry like the big fucking girl that I am.

I think so. The injury to Sturridge and Rashford's goal in what has been billed as a "test game" for him has made it a distinct possibility.

If Sturridge was able to prove himself fit before the cut-off point of the squad I would hope Roy would opt for Sturridge, though.

Sturridge's Lament:

Fuck him.

Rooney, Sterling and Rashford looked very good together.

I'd take Rashford, we have enough quality strikers without needing Sturridge. Think Rashford may have more of an impact.

barkleys decisions making is awful, dwells on the ball far too much and generally loses it.

I reckon so. It will be Kane by himself with Rooney deeper. A compromise.

Better than Rooney on his own, I suppose.
So many question marks over so many positions and we're not even sure what formation we will line up, but you're right there is no way Kane won't start up top.

I think he's a talented player but he's clearly out of form and we have plenty of options in his favoured position - I would drop him out of the squad.

Drinkwaters passing has gone to absolute shit. 5 or 6 doggo ones on the bounce.

Henderson and Drinkwater were shocking and only 1 of those should be going to the Euros if not none. Cant keep possession in midfield against a poor side then theres no point in them playing against better teams in the Euros.

agreed. lallana should be cut from the squad as well. nothing player him, never has any impact on the game.

not sure i'd take rashford over sturridge as some are suggesting. i'm pleased he scored tonight but apart from that moment he was a bit crap tbh. sturridge is a much better player.

If Sturridge is fit it should be him going but I'm saying if theres a q? over his fitness, as there is right now, will Roy go with man of the moment over Danny boy.

Nobody's denying Sturridge is the better player - but the bloke is so fragile if he has a tug he'd strain his wrist

Disagree. Rashford has to go. Daniel S is injury prone and inconsistent. Rashford looks fearless, clinical and exciting.

Agree that Sturridge has to get nod over Rashford still, even though he scored tonight he still has a lot to improve in his game especially with link up play, decision making and getting out of isolated situations.

I'd take Lallana he offers something different and is happy playing in a number of positions.

I thought both Bertrand and Stones were very solid tonight, not a fan of Henderson though. Obviously can't take too much from these friendlies, there'll be a fair few changes for the Russia game with players in their primary positions.

Agreed, I would start with the back four that started tonight.

there's nothing inconsistent about sturridge. when he plays football he scores goals. he'd be going as 4th choice and i'd have far more faith in him coming on and making an impact. it's too early for rashford, even as 4th choice striker. he's played 12 19 professional games to date. he was absolutely terrible tonight, goal aside.

fearless, clincal, exciting. sounds like a young theo walcott.

That's simply not true, a great bit of play in the build-up to the second goal and recovered from an admittedly poor touch to set-up Rooney for what should have been the third. Bare in mind he was not playing in the same position that he has excelled in for his club.

Very harsh assessment. Thought he was one of the better players in a fairly poor England performance.

I'm not that fussed either way but I'd probably take him as things stand. His link up play combined with his pace and finishing makes him a good option. Plus he's full of confidence which always helps. Considering our dearth in talent I'd take all the strikers if fit, makes sense to me to pick as many attacking options as possible.

Not a fan of Wilshere in the holding role, he's our most creative midfielder and should be afforded as much freedom as possible.

I'd leave Lallana at home, his new found work rate means he isn't completely pointless anymore but his end product is so shit. Wouldn't mind seeing Drinkwater not making it either, he's had a good season but we've got better players imo, he'd only be going as cover for Dier and we've got others who can do that. Think Townsend's directness coming off the bench could come in handy so he's in imo.

The perfect night for Roy with Rashford and Rooney scoring (and Sturridge injured) as he can justify taking both.

I agree. I didn't think he had a great game. He squandered a couple of great chances with his poor touch and decision making. Did very well with his goal though. I'm still on the fence about whether he should be on the plane or not. I still think we need another CB.

How poor were Henderson and Drinkwater on the bal yesterday? while Lallana was a bit anonymous. I'd still go for Sturridge over Rashford if it is an option, if Sturridge is injured then don't take him. Townsend didn't get long to prove himself tonight.

Delph, Henderson and Rashford would be who I would cut

Delph, Townsend and Sturridge is what I expect
