Comfortable win v Oxford today, they were flattered by the scoreline which makes the game seem a lot closer than in actually was. Important that we bounced back from good Friday calamity at Dale, and we comfortably did so.

But there was surely no need for him to come running over mouthing off about a decision that didn't involve him. Poor from a player of his experience.
Can only assume Lines muttered something to himself whilst walking away which the ref heard
No problems with the first yellow. The second one was poor though - although regarding Harrison’s incident, I still have no idea how that was a Fleetwood freekick (rendering Lines’ reaction (although poor) pointless)

If you were in the away stand you will have seen the players running towards you. However, looking from behind it was crystal that your player was intially and literally ripping the shirt off Bolger's back. Bolger reacted. Neither player involved got booked, only your man who thought he was a better ref than the ref.

Nothing worse than losing a football match on contentious circumstances. Even if you dominate a game and lose to the opponents only shot, fair is fair. But when you lose purely because of officials mistakes it is hard to take.

Pitman lucky not to see straight red early on, slid in very late, stoods raised and catches Elder, loads of reds for those challenges this season, not even a talking too. A clear dive for the Portsmouth penalty, just minutes after a clear handball in the box stops Powells free kick. Then Evan stoods Morsy in the stomach and takes him out, then is allowed to play on and play for ball forward for Portsmouth to score a second.

Two goals that clearly shouldn't have stood. Ref gets it right and even though our performance was poor, we looked rattled after the opener then we would have won the game.

We'll probably get yet another 'sorry' from the chief referee, what fucking good does that do. Bring in VAR now or start suspending officials because that referee tonight was an absolute disgrace to the sport.

100% correct... the ref was clueless, basically let pompey do has they please..up there with the worst i have ever seen after fat dowd at arsenal... the first pitman challenge was borderline red it was close to 2 footed, how we didnt get a pen for the handball beggars belief!! cant get over it!

Let's hope this referee Tim Robinson gets a 2 year suspension from Wigan games like Dowd did...

Funny because we thought all the decisions went Wigan’s way for a long time. Poor officiating all round I guess.

You can’t possibly say we didn’t deserve that based on effort and endeavour though - Wigan clearly were a level above in quality but we did brilliantly. Most satisfying win in bloody ages!

I’m on the way back to London. I thought your fans were fantastic. Loudest consistent home atmosphere I’ve heard in a long long time and it without a doubt helped make the ref’s mind up with that pen. Shame about the middle aged tossers trying to start a fight in that alleyway leading to the away end though. That keeper had his second blinding game against us as well. Those saves won the match as we’d have come back if we had scored at that point with another 15-20 minutes to play. No need to panic, we earnt the right to slip up and that’s our hardest game out the way. Beat MK and Rochdale next week and we’re top with our fate in our own hands with six games left.

Jimmy Floyd gone from Northampton - too late to save them or going to be a right decision?

That would probably make complete sense if we hadn’t had bigger crowds this season (and previous seasons in a lower division).

As a fan base we were up for today. Not because it was Wigan. Because it was Paul Cook’s return. Your club just happened to be his new employers, and were ultimately an irrelevance in all this.

As for Twitter, most comments I’ve seen were in response to your claims of us celebrating our cup final. No offence, but you’re Wigan. That claim is preposterous and will rightly be met with disdain.

Other than Cook left us for your particular club, we have no axe to grind with Wigan. But I must say, I’ve never seen another club with an average of 9,000 fans carrying such a high opinion of their stature in the football hierarchy as your own.

Well I hope this is the beginning of the end for Wigan reading this thread.
<500 fans when you are pushing for promotion is poor... clearly too big for this league...

Stupid comments from Wigan fans. I was at the game, and also saw the highlights.. and have no idea what you're on about. We wanted it more, the fans gave a lot of abuse, and it went our way. As said above, Wigan are nobody's to us, just who Cook and Richardson now work for.

Shit club, shit fans, shit team. Good night..

Yeah some of the Wigan salt since their defeat has certainly got me laughing. The referee was just as bad for us, some of the diving from the Wigan players was pathetic.

As for those claiming Nick Powell is the best player in the league, are you having a fucking laugh? One good attempt foiled by our keeper but other than that pretty much spent the whole game in Anton Walkes' pocket. Bradley Dack was far better when he came down here with Blackburn if this argument about which player is better is to continue.

I actually fancied us to win today. Typical Paul Cook side. Technically better than us but no guts when it mattered. We did a job on them and did it well.

Let's just hope we don't fuck it up against Rochdale on Saturday after winning four on the spin.

You sound like one of the fat middle aged shirters giving it large in the safety of that alleyway while we were all held at the exit by police. Fucked off quick time when we all got let out. No class in victory whatsoever. Southampton could teach you lot a thing or two.
