Got a few 'on paper' easier games coming up but without Tyler Walker for the next two it's going to make it a lot more difficult.

We are quite literally down to Nicky Ajose being our only avaliable striker untill Walker returns from suspension. Preston and Bishop are a card away from a two game suspension too - Although if they can avoid it in the next three games (unlikely) they will avoid it.

So Cheltenham (H) Port Vale (A) and Crawley (A) next up and if we want to stay in the top three you imagine we need to get a minimum of 7 points.

From what I recall Grimsby sold about 16-18,000 tickets. The remainder of the 56,000 at the game were in Club wembley “neutral” section. I certainly remember it was about half our sales.
Yeah it’s because we boycotted it because it was against the franchise, otherwise we’d have taken 75,000 - 80,000 easily. :bg:

Right am I being daft but why can I not see this thread on the L2 section? I was only able to access it due to it being on the 'lastest post' thing.

You just need to club together to pay £95 quid to make them stickied and problem solved. :bg:

Tbf I’m not that bothered. I’m only still here because of this part of the forum, I’ll probably be here less if we get promoted as the league 1 forum is half dead.

Any section that’s likely to have Lincoln, Bury and Mansfield in it is not going to be dead.

We're the scalp everyone wants and raise their game because of that.
If double mark Akinde as a matter of course then we need to man mark their main threat, great strikes from Chair for sure but he been taking pot shots the whole game and failed to stop him.
The time he has to get the shots off for the goals is very poor especially the first he has time to switch feet in our penalty area.

Whether we believe it or not doesn't matter- every manager we come up against mentions it, states this is "the benchmark", "need a strong ref" etc etc etc.

Don't matter what us minions think- managers seem to believe it to be the case. Maarmia reaction yesterday after the draw (being interviewed) was akin to the Norwegian commentator from the early 80's when Norway beat England. He was ranting like he'd just won the league.

Pre/post match interviews from JB from their clash with the mighty scalp that everyone wants. Make of that what you will, but I'm standing firm and calling bullshit. Will be back with the next lot when you play next.

No mention of needing a strong ref, etc.

Maybe we should keep in-house.

Don’t want that dodgy fake town down south coming up

In fairness though MK, Lincoln and bury are all bigger than Mansfield, so it would be a massive achievement for us to go up

I'd describe Bury as less tinpot rather than bigger.

I don’t know if ya being sarcastic or just a bit of a tit, suggesting Bury are bigger than us, and Lincoln for that matter is not funny Adam.

Bury deffo much bigger. They are more on a par with us, Oldham and Crewe as opposed to the likes of Lincoln and Mansfield.

Which is below Tranmere, the Real Madrid of league two. Glad we are all in agreement.

You’ve just put Crewe and Bury on par with Grimsby you absolute maniac. I’m done with this, I know what a proper L2 club is when I see one and Bury and the sub 4K crowds in automatic promotion are definitely one.

I remember us debating something similar in the non-league days on the old TFF and that went on then too! Hope everybody enjoys the ‘club size’ debate that I imagine it’s incoming.

You are compared to us, we’ve been in league 1 once in the last 27 years, we then conceded 97 goals in the process.

We’re well set if we go up this time though,

And we still lost 6-1 that cost us promotion. :hb:

Everyone is massive compared to Bury. Plenty of teams are bigger than Tranmere, but Grimsby aint one of them, Crewe are much bigger than Grimsby too, while Exeter are actually one of the smallest clubs in this division.
