Where’s that Yeovil fan that stuck up for Mansfield? I’ll appreciate his input again, it’s bloody Tory heartland now ya know?

SoC I’m saying Newcastle and Liverpool are far ahead of Nottingham, although I have only ever lived in Notts.
Ah gotcha. So are we bumping Notts down to tier 5 then? That'll put it in with the likes of Hull and York.

Interesting...
Loads of tileyards and a steelwork industry that has outlived Sheffield. What infrastructure is lacking in Lincs that Notts has?
My main experiences are around the sleaford area ,building loads of new housing ,but medical facilities are way behind ,you have to travel to either lincoln ,grantham or boston a good few miles ,its just a place that to me seems a bit slow ,like it closes on saturday teatime for the weekend

Liverpool is a cracking night - go there often.

Cleethorpes/Grimsby are a bit like blackpool, it’s that spectacularly shit it’s alright.

I guess mansfield is just meh instead, so is neither here nor there.

Are you saying Liverpool is better or worse than Newcastle? Much of a muchness to me.

London is great for a night out, but alas my tier system is based on a number of factors.[/QUO

The good thing about Cleethorpes is that like Mansfield it's shit, but at least it's shit and has a beach/seafront.

Nottingham is alright, but has a bit of an inflated ego of itself. 4th tier city for sure (1st London, 2nd Manchester/Edinburgh, 3rd Bristol/Brum/Glasgow/Leeds, 4th Newcastle/Liverpool/Sheffield/Notts/Brighton imo).

London is a world city and in a league of its own. Huge fan of Bristol and impressed by Manchester after all the money spent but too spread out. Birmingham is overrated without a doubt do not rate at all and I’d swap with Liverpool in that list. Liverpool is better than Leeds but same tier

As for Nottingham , I’d agree 4th tier (at best) is where is should be and that is very much punching above it’s weight.

On your scale what tier are likes of Derby, Leicester ? And god knows how far we drop down to reach the likes of Mansfield and Grimsby/Cleethorpes.

Mansfield town centre is like stepping back in time with very few redeeming qualities unlike Lincoln which although very much a tale of twos distinct areas (one very good, one not) within the city , it is light years ahead of Mansfield town centre and surrounds. I’ve only been to Grimsby once, no need again, pretty desperate. Cleethorpes is Cleethorpes better than Grimsby but.

Just beer prices would bring a tear to my eyes
Yeah drinks prices in London are horrible but there are places you can go and apps you can use to bring down food and drink costs if you're savvy/arsed enough to do it.

Hmmmm, maybe 6? I actually haven't really ever spent time in either of those places to be honest. so not sure if I can really grade them fairly. I was thinking tier 5 would be York, Hull, Oxford, maybe Cambridge?

You’ve clearly never been to Liverpool and happy just to take its reputation of 20-30 years ago.

Really boring this Mansfield obsession with Tranmere now.

I tell you what really is boring, is making out ‘Mansfield’ have a obsession with Tranmere because a fan has had a pop at ya, grow up and throw some shit back like you have beforehand.

If Leicester and Derby are 6, Lincoln 7? Mansfield/Grimsby 9th?

Anyway it’s not comparing like with like and it’s just not football but amazed it gets brought up so often.

Honestly, I don't think I could do the lower-mid reaches of the tier system justice. There are too many places below Tier 5 that I haven't visited or have only spent a morning/afternoon in.

Whilst at Trent Uni, I always thought Hyson Green, the Meadows and St Anns were particularly nice places.

We'll probably lose at home to Macc and Cambridge, win comfortably at Tranmere and scrape a win at Crewe. Seems to be the way we do things.

That would set up a final day shoot out v Exeter.

On nights out alone then Manchester, Newcastle, York, Bristol and Sunderland go in the elite tier for me.

Followed by Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield then Notts and finally in a tier similar to the Scottish highlands league you have Birmingham.

Happily im well out of all of that sort of stuff ,and probably a bit of a luddite when it comes to the techy stuff

I think it stemmed from whatever tranmere on here thought they deserved a point from that 3-0 stroll we had back in January or whenever then threw their dolly out the pram when it became pretty evident they were speaking bollocks.

It’s rather odd tbh, they seem a largely decent club with fans but just haven’t featured on our radar this season.

Theres a train from alfreton (about 3 miles from Mansfield) direct to Liverpool so it’s hardly a challenge. It’s that infrastructure we have :p

A few of their fans on here seem to have a bit of a chip on their shoulders unfortunately.

Always been quite fond of them, absolutely not a problem with TRFC.

Honestly no idea what you’re on about.

Said after you played at our place you were the best team I had seen this season, which alongside FGR is still the case. Then said you’d still make top 3 2 weeks ago when you were talking doom and gloom.

Very evident most posts you make lately are to bait Tranmere fans, but really don’t have an issue with Mansfield.

At least Lincoln fans had some originality with their jibes a couple years ago.

I think you must be on your own little planet.

There is nothing about Tranmere for a mansfield fan to currently obsess about.
