Just seen your form over the last 10 games and it isn't good. Your run-in doesn't look great as well, I see the reason behind your negative thinking.

We've been shite for ages as well. It's just no-one has really put a run together to overhaul us. Sad truth is that we just aren't good enough right now, and more worryingly I don't think anyone knows what our best 11 is. At this stage of the season that's an issue.

Where's all the love gone Bristol City fans?
I thought you liked playing us half a dozen times a season.
Go on Walsall?
Come on Burton?

Fuck the lot of ya!

I want Gillingham to come up this season if it's worth anything - I'm having withdrawal symptoms of not travelling to Priestfield this season.

Happy for any of the trio of yourselves, Walsall and Burton to go up. Walsall are the only ones that look interested in that last spot at the moment, though!

You will just I think the dingles will run you close
We really won't! Dale will beat us on tuesday, so they'll probably finish above us too so my pre-season prediction of 8th looks on.

After seeing the state of Burton yesterday I'm treating our 0-0 draw as 2 points dropped, especially with all the teams above us slipping up as well. I'm sure it was just an off day for them but we'd have been level on points with Gills now had we took advantage.

Huge game against Posh on Tuesday. Crap record against them recently and we've been poor the last 4 or 5 games so I'm not getting my hopes up.

Amazing to think a few games ago some Walsall fans where declaring themselves out of the play offs never mind the top two...
How it changes so quick

Well, in barely a week, the promotion race has suddenly gotten way more interesting. Wigan blew a chance to to increase their stranglehold on top spot by losing 3-1 to Doncaster. Got a massive game on Tuesday away at Burton, lose that and the title race could be back on. Burton continue to stutter, looks like finishing line jitters are getting to them, which is hardly surprising given the size of the achievement they could manage should they get promoted.

Walsall continue to be ridiculous. Just when they seem on for a top 2 finish, they blow it. When they drop off, they win a couple to come back into it. Well, 2 wins to promotion chasers Gillingham and Southend and suddenly the top 2 looks possible again. Their run in looks generally favourable, are the autos really back on? Need another win on Tuesday to really keep the momentum going. Bradford drew against Shrewsbury, which is a bit of a set back for them. Still more than capable of making a run at Burton, but can't afford any more slip ups now. Millwall lost to Coventry which is a surprise given their away form this season. Their next 3 look winnable, automatics might be too far off, but their play off place should be relatively assured. Gillingham, after looking like a steady top 6 all season, now suddenly look very vulnerable. Back to back home defeats to Walsall and Port Vale, only 2 wins in their last 10. 4 huge games for them to make sure their hard work doesn't go to waste.

Barnsley are making the most of Gillingham's slide, now only 2 points behind them after a 4 point week. Tricky last 4 for them, have they got enough in the tank to make it into the top 6? Rochdale are also not going away quietly, 3-0 win over Blackpool means the top 6 is more than doable. They beat Gillingham on Tuesday and they will be right in the mix, especially if Barnsley drop points. Sheff Utd have picked up recently, but might have left it too late to mount a top 6 push. Scunny are in the same boat after beating Crewe. Still possible, but will probably need to win out to have any hope.

So, all of a sudden, Walsall look like the front runners to catch Burton, maybe the title race isn't done after all, Gillingham are now the team who could miss out on a top 6 spot and Barnsley and Rochdale are waiting to pounce. Loads to be decided with only a few weeks left. Excitement picking up for sure.

Nah, stay where you are. Finishing 8th in League 1 is the pinnacle of football happiness and the best possible outcome for a small club according to my scientific methodology. You get to win more matches than you lose against mainly bigger (and in some cases much bigger) clubs, you're in a good position to have extended runs in the FA and League cups, you have a realistic chance of winning the Associate Members cup, you don't have the anguish of the play-offs and you don't get sucked into the financial madness of the Championship where your club would have to get itself massively indebted to just try and finish 21st.

Revel in your placid and peaceful 8th placedness!

...................and besides, having gates of less than 3000 in the Championship would be quite embarrassing.

Take your point re our woeful home support. However (unless MK somehow stay up) there won't be any "3 men and a dog" away followings.

Away stand holds 3,000+. Leeds, Wolves, Villa, Forest, Newcastle and/or Sunderland and no doubt a lot of the others will travel in numbers. We'd probably average between 5-6000, but with a high proportion of visitors...:)
