I suppose that probably means you can start back up once Liverpool are mathematically out of the title race and exiting Europe.

To be fair that'll be next May because we're gonna win the fucking league! And do a 2005 in the CL.

If we qualify for the Group Stage I'll be realistic and go for a QF appearance with a good wind. As for the PL, we need strengthening to compete for the title, as if it stays like this and if Coutinho leaves, we'll be lucky to get fourth again.

Papers in France reports that the Reds will seal a £20.5m deal for the 26-year-old Nice midfielder Jean Michael Serri.

Go 3-0 down?

Show some respect ;). The intermediate result doesn't mean anything, the end-result counts. An epic :) final and one that saw an english team winning a penalty shootout (no wonder, German Didi Hamann took the first one even with a broken toe...Hero!!!! )

If Liverpool makes it to the group stages (who is doubting that after the 1st leg) they'll advance to the knockout rounds, too. From there you'll also must have a bit of luck otherwise you are doing "an Arsenal" :D

From reading various LFC blogs, forums etc, the fans are desperate to blame the scouting network, FSG, Michael Edwards etc but never Klopp.

With regards to the scouts, I can't imagine a situation where the scouts have turned up to a meeting at the beginning of the Summer and said "we've spent a year looking around and the only players who will do a job for us are Keita and VVD". There must surely have been a list with more than 2 players on it.

FSG have made considerable sums available to land the two targets but the clubs of those targets have the will and the power to hold on to those two players. Not much FSG can do about that other than offer tens of millions more, which doesn't really make economical sense. VVD isn't worth 80m+ and Keita has a 48m buyout next year. Is he good enough to justify a 30 - 40m payment for a season?

Michael Edwards could potentially be the most skilled negotiator in world football or incapable of tying his own shoes but no one knows as there is next to no information available about him publicly. Both he and the club obviously want it that way.

That leaves Klopp. Considering hes said several times that he would prefer to develop players than just buy them, it would make sense that he whittled down the list to two players. For me, the important question is who decided that the best tactic would be to just go after those two players all Summer.

Say, for arguments sake, Southampton were prepared to sell VVD to us at the start of June for 65m (before the "illegal approach" business) and we subsequently backed down. The window will close in two weeks and its clear we still need a CB. If Saints were still prepared to sell, the stink of desperation of us must surely make them think they could get another 15m at least. If we lose Coutinho, we have 100m+ in our pockets. Does that add another 10m?

Salah for 35m is an absolute bargain. Solanke is very promising acquisition and Robertson is a decent signing. The rest of the Summer has been an absolute disaster and if we lose Coutinho, its going to be a long 3 months before we don't sign anyone again in January because "there is no value".

I think they'll do more business yet, they are waiting to next week to hopefully confirm CL qualification and then get two or three in the door when Coutinho moves on. The window can be saved yet but they need to get a move on.

The obvious move is Draxler.

The obvious move is Draxler.

Wenger has supposedly been after him in every window for the last three or four years. Perhaps he'll finally get his man after failing to land Lemar (who we now want, supposedly).

They certainly need players, there is a chasm in quality between them and Real at the moment.

They are in relative disarray at the moment, it's great to see.

Hopefully someone other than Real benefits from it.

Tried for him in January I believe, but the wages demands were supposedly ludicrous. I'd love him though, him and Reus are my two favourite German players currently.

Heard a great point today saying that Leipzig managed to keep Keita this window, and Southampton are trying their utmost to keep VVD, and if they do hold on to him; then Liverpool cannot then let Coutinho go as you would have to question why they'd be able to keep their players, yet we couldn't. Questions on the owners would then be a real issue even moreso than now.

That makes sense  I wouldn't mind if he goes...

btw: Do you have a link to these "Rumors in Germany"?

Draxler? Please not to Liverpool, Arsenal would be ok.
Reus...what a pity that this guy is so injury prone. One of the most talented but as soon as he gets into a tackle you have to worry ....Hopefully in 2018 he'll play his first tournament (fingers crossed)

The defence would definitely be the priority but they could do with a midfielder too. And a proper striker. And a keeper.

Actually, they should just keep Mané and buy a whole new squad.

Ah, yes I forgot. Coutinho is on his way :D (not)

A new goalie? They have Mignolet, saved a penalty against Hoffenheim. You can't replace a hero ....

Our whole system has to change to accommodate a striker. So no, we don't need a striker.

Good point, your system is perfect and definitely doesn't need to change at all.

Also, having a plan B is an awful idea, isn't it?

For scoring goals it sure doesn't.

Convince Zlatan to join you and he'll get his head on all those set pieces you keep conceding from.

Sorted.
