Snodgrass done. Season long loan. Just what we needed and on recent evidence a fantastic player at this level. Lovely.

Rob Green going to Huddersfield, Andy Lonergan coming back to us.

Lower cost backup, basically, but Green did much better than I expected last season so shame to see him go but makes sense for us to reduce the wages spent on a number two.

Thought Green would want guaranteed football at his age, though.

So Dicko looks likely to leave with Lonergan and Edwards. Jordan Rhodes looks like the only one we will bring in.

Dangerous Dave going to Reading for 1m.

I am distraught.

I have liked Dangerous Dave for many years and feel he gets a bad rep from the South Bank. But..... he is clearly out of his depth now. Perhaps it's the 3-4-3 but he looked embarrassing against Southampton. There was one moment when three Saints players knocked the ball between them in a triangle and he ran at each one in turn and he then just gave up. He seemed always a bit out of place and I had a sense that others wouldn't pass to him.

I really hope he goes on to somehow play in the Premier League (the unkind part of me suggests that might need to be in either Scotland or India) because he's a really nice bloke. Bit like Sam Ricketts, Jody Craddock and SEB. As the players walked back to the tunnel the other night, I turned to the missus and said "That's the last time we'll see Dangerous in a Wolves shirt". No lies, she looked shocked and said "No! Was he playing tonight?" He was that poor.

We were linked with him before. Although haven't heard anything down here about a bid.

Looks like our move for Tomer Hemed is off as Brighton are struggling to bring in a new striker. The one they were after failed his medical.

12 months ago wasn't arsed one bit about Jordan Hugil, could have left for free and I wouldn't have batted an eye lid.

Now we're turning down 7 million bids for him and I'm devastated to think he's going to be gone by end of August :dk::eyes:

Agreed.

Good bit of business on our part. Offers more creativity Centrally and on the flanks.

You lot should romp this league with the squad you have this season. Getting ridiculous! :dis:
We should be challenging for automatic promotion that's for sure. If we're not then clearly there is something majorly wrong with the management at the club. But it is a tough league to get out of. On paper there is no denying we should be one of the favourites for promotion but anything can happen. Could see us finishing anywhere from 1st down to mid table to be honest!

Yup. On paper man for man I'd say we have the best squad in the league. Unfortunately our manager is a backwards muppet. I want him to come good as I like the guy, but his tactics are genuinely baffling at times.

Same, I like Bruce but his tactics are all over the place. We score 8 goals in our last 2 matches and he decides to change to a back 3? Baffling! We should play the same away as we do at home, yes we might lose some games but we will win our fair share too.

To be fair to him he did see it wasn't working and made the change pretty quickly. Doesn't excuse the fact he got it wrong to start with.

If true our spending this Summer is going to be mental too. Edwards to come in with a striker and defender still needed. If we get what we want we would probably have spent £20m+!

I genuinely thought we would accept around the 6 million mark. Fair play PNE for holding out. Let the bidding war commence. I've resigned to the fact that he has probably played his last game at Deepdale for us though :conf:

He's been very meh. We've been playing with 10 men behind the ball most of the time, so we're giving teams every opportunity to score. He's not done much wrong tbh.

I'd prefer ours or Middlesbrough's squad to be honest.. Maybe even Sheff Wed/Leeds.

I can see the argument for yours, but we've barely seen most of them play, as I'm pretty sure no one here regularly watches the Primeira Liga. On Boro, are we talking about the same Boro who keep buying our rejects? I can't agree with you there. Nor can I on Sheff Weds or Leeds, but this is all subjective and we could be here all day arguing the merits of each squad backwards and forwards.

Jackson Irvine not in the Burton squad. Someone at the club has confirmed it's because he's in talks with another club. We're that club. Great signing!

You'll veer from loving Edwards to hating him. Probably within seconds of each other. Loyal, hard-working bloke who is guaranteed to take you into mid-table: no higher, no lower. After you've lost 4-0 to someone, he will pop up in the local paper to say that "We need to pull our socks up" or "Us players accept the blame" or "We need to work harder" like the fans have no clue why the team just lost 4-0. He's available for bar mitzvahs and after-dinner engagements too, so that's a small commercial bonus.

Still imagine selling Bodvarsson and Dicko for a combined 6m, the strikeforce that scored 6 goals in a combined 80+ games last season...
Ignoring the fact that you still believe we bought Bodvarsson for £3m, I would like to thank you for your contribution to his goal today.

Dave Edwards leaves for Reading for 1m. End of an era, good luck Dave.

Yeah, he took this role from Karl Henry

Every single person who has publically commented on this transfer has stated it was for 3m. You a person who has no involvment in this transfer has stated it was for 1m. Who to believe.. :pond:

"Every single person" being Mick McCarthy? A manager probably bitter that he missed out on him as they were close to signing him on loan.

All reporters down here were running £750k at the time of it being a rumour, then £1m when signed.

Still, £1m or £3m - looks a good player, and much better value than us blowing £10m on Hugill.

Personally I couldnt give a shit how much you paid for him, but every source, our journos and a football manager said 3m, to your 1m. Doesnt make much difference to us.

I agree with your last point, and nice to see him off the mark today. Take care of Dave too.

I can't even believe that figure is being talked about and its not even tongue in cheek.

Are there reports round your way that you had a bid rejected for him?
