Want to build a new PC. Help please.

My birthday on the 17th and I fancy building a new PC.

No idea what's good these days. Playing with a budget of £1200. Already got a monitor, keyboard and mouse. Also need Winblows 10. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd pirate obtain a free copy of windows 10 to be honest. Need to know what you want to do with it, if gaming (as I assume) to what standard?

Also, any preference between AMD/Intel processors and AMD/Nvidia graphics? Will get better value with AMD, but generally slightly better performance with Intel/Nvidia. Generally I'd go intel processor and AMD graphics.

Pretty much a standard high end build right now. Assuming you have a PSU, storage and case from your old build to add to it. Could swap out the 1070 for a 1080 for a couple of hundred quid extra or go for a different motherboard, different cooler if you plan to do a crazy CPU overclock. Or you could buy an SSD if you don't have one already. Upgrading from windows 7/8 to 10 is still free as far as I know so no need to buy 10.

Actually went with a 1070 in the end. SSD also. Looking forward to testing out some games tomorrow.

Only game I've played so far is Overwatch. Gone from playing on medium to epic settings. Absolutely lovely at those settings.

Downloading Rise of the Tomb Raider now. My old PC struggled with that one.
