Fecked off with another bland borough joining, may as well call them Stevenage South, with an (ex) Stevenage-like manager; they’ll take 6 points off us no matter how well we do in the other 44 games.

Sorry Donny, you have stay down, We need rid of Crawley to make up for this.

I too am hoping we get rid of Crawley, especially as they have been a right bogey side to us since their Steve Evans days.

Don't know about you Limerick, but we really need to throw everything at it next season and get out of this league.

When I first started going to Crawley our scouts would watch Bromley reserves looking for players to pinch (no point in looking at Palace or Charlton reserves). They were always a good non league side so I welcome them and hope they do well (not against us obviously)

They certainly weren’t always a good non league side - in my early years watching they were usually levels below watched by a handful and when we played them it was absolutely poisonous from their support. Last decade they’ve gradually become one of better non league sides. Think 15/16 was first time in the Conference? Before that you’d have to go back to 2nd WW or just after for them to be decent. They may do ok, they may not. You’d think Cheek is probably 2 seasons too late to the pro game and their captain must be on last legs to be stepping back up. Will be interesting how much they can spend with pitch to consider too. It’s a decent step up but I’d be surprised if they didn’t survive the first season. Can see Morecambe as next season’s basket case club and wouldn’t be surprised if another went the same way (still can see Crawley/Fleetwood going wrong quickly for example).

They will probably survive for a season or two then get relegated like Sutton.

Gunit, when I started watching Crawley were completely shit. Bottom of the Southern League Southern division getting 11 and 17 points a season. To us Bromley were a good side and a well run club.

I remember one season our centre forward scored two goals from open play...he is still spoken about fondly by the old boys!

You know what, their manager is an absolute weapon who has a massive chip on his shoulders about GTFC for some unfathomable reason, but, he’s done an absolutely fantastic job there so for that I say well done to him, even though he is still a grade A twat.

I watched the Bromley Boys a few weeks ago (a reasonable enough watch to be fair) and although they were clearly awful and struggling at that level at the time, there were quite a number of sides in the Isthmian League with them at that time who have gone on to a good standard (Wycombe, Sutton, Dulwich Hamlet, Maidstone, Wealdstone, Oxford City, Kingstonian, Woking).

In many cases dropped back down or yo-yo clubs. We've played Bromley a number of times and other teams at their ground and it has never ended well due to their lack of organisation or poor officiating.

Comments from teams more recently in the National League leads me to believe they haven't improved since we last played them in 2009. Can we dump them and have Sutton back?

Opposite for us, we always seem to win at Crawley, a unique occurence.

Thuggery which can help in League 2

They will get torn to shreds on our pitch it's massive! Their style of play and dark arts will only suffice at the smaller grounds with tight little pitches.

So at the very least, 23 of the games they'll play, plus other away grounds with similar set ups.

For the shitty little clubs in this league it may concern them but not us, we'll walk all over non-league minnows such as Bromley especially at home and hand them a harsh reality check of what league football is about.

It's been a while since I've been in the same league groups as Carlisle fans... weren't you all pessimistic last time around? This is Birmingham City Twitter levels of arrogance.

Well there is quite a difference in the spectrum when you finish your last game in L1 away at Derby in a match attended by over 30,000 fans, to then be in L2 where we'll be playing Bromley and Harrogate etc watched just by an old bloke and his dog.

I knew there was a reason I don't like Vale.

You opened the ground we are in now. The first ever league game as well (I believe not checking).
