Could be an interesting game, this. Not sure how Carlisle will react to their first loss....I'd like to think badly but they could just as easily put 5 past us!

We usually play well away, especially on a big pitch so I'm hopeful of a result. No surprise that Troy A H is out injured after only managing 8 minutes of football this season, but hopefully our other Troy (Brown) will feature after a long spell out, to make us a bit more robust at the back.

Have to say I've been impressed with Carlisle this season and I think they will be in it for the long haul....

Anyway, I'll go 2-2. Reid and Holmes for us. Grainger and Wyke for the home team.

157 travelling Grecians to make the long trip.

Think we'll return to winning ways this weekend, though Exeter won't be underestimated. 2nd best home side versus the 2nd best away side should definitely be a good game, and hopefully we'll see some goals.

It's vital we bounce back after the first defeat, especially with a tough looking match at Grimsby to follow. I think the players will be eager to put in a good performance after last weekend.

3-1

Been to Carlisle a couple times but haven't seen anything this season to convince me to make the trip once more. Head says we'll get smashed 4-0, another part of me thinks we'll win in a high scoring game.

Can't see anything other than a draw here. Exeter pick up stuff away from home, we were utterly atrocious by all accounts last week. There's bound to be some sort of hangover from such an inept, pile of shite, piss poor performance and result. I expect a slight improvement which is why I think we'll get a point, but we'll be lucky.

1-1 late equaliser for us.

Edit: on second thoughts, there's absolutely no way we'll only concede 1 goal the way we've been defending and conceding recently. 2 or 3 at least. So I'm revising my prediction. 2-2

If we don't win then I will have to say I'll be very disappointed. We need the right response after our poor defeat at Newport and if we don't then we will soon find ourselves out of the top 3.

Looking at Exeter's last 2 away results. 4-1 win at Barnet and a 3-0 win at morecambe.

They are a completely different team away from home. Any sort of hangover from the Newport horror show and we'll lose. We have to be on it properly today if we are to get anything from it.

16/5 at Bet365 on an Exeter win is very tempting I have to say.

Exeter have the second best away record in the league.

True, but we also beat both of those teams away from home, I took a look on Exeweb and they seem to feel that while their away form is good they're yet to beat quality opposition away from home, and shouldn't think they'll necessarily win here just because of their away form, in short they don't turn into a better team as soon as they leave Exeter, it's the same players they just play to their potential a bit better and end up winning games against average opposition who would beat them at home.

I'm hoping that we do exactly as we would have been expected to do before the Newport game, and win comfortably against struggling opposition. Keith Curle seemed ready to just pick up where we left off and I hope that the players are too. So much was made of our unbeaten run that as a fan you can fear that it was like our magic feather and now that it's gone there's suddenly nothing remarkable about us anymore, but for the players none of this should matter and it should just be business as usual.

One of our mistakes at Newport seemed to be an obsession with external factors and the opposition, in Newport's case the cabbage patch they play on and the Westley factor, we won't make that mistake again in obsessing with Exeter's away form.

Well the shit has certainly hit the fan here in terms of us having a hangover from last weeks shit show at Newport. We've been utterly shit and been completely out played by Exeter. We're lucky not to be 3 or 4-1 down.

Carry on like this and we're going to sink down this league quicker than the titanic.

Major changes needed to the personnel, attitude and formation second half. Otherwise we're staring at another defeat.

Ffs. Sounded like an undeserved defeat but we're so weak.

Fuck off football. Tisdale out.

I've already said that I think Carlisle are going up, and I'm more convinced now that they're not playing well and still getting all three points.

It's pretty much the reverse of what Shrewsbury did to us a couple of seasons back, and I said something similar about them (Shrewsbury) then.

Massive win.

Totally undeserved, although we did play well in the last 10 minutes but overall Exeter were better and deserved the 3 points.

Exeter are the best team I've seen at brunton this season. Not a chance they'll be in that position too much longer. Reuben Reid is a class act, shouldn't have been taken off

You know what I mean then. Good sides have average and sometimes even poor games and yet still manage to pick up points. We saw it first hand when Richard Money was here back in the conference days, as on some days we were only average at best and still picking up wins.

Thank you for your kind words, HG.

Unfortunately, our complete inability to win at home and an over-reliance on picking up points on the road mean we'll never be able to fully pull ourselves away from danger.

Very much agree with Reuben Reid, I don't know why he was taken off but when he did I told the lad I was with that it was good for us. Presumed he wasn't a ninety minute player yet after his long injury last season but looking st exeweb they don't seem happy about it either.

Exeter weren't bad, lots of energy but were lacking in several areas, especially when they don't have Reid. I've seen better this season even I have seen plenty worse. Oddly one of the other teams who have impressed me are fellow strugglers Colchester. Plenty about them today looked like a team without belief just as we did a couple of seasons ago.

Quite fun being a top team isn't it by having all the luck!!

Heh. :bg1:

Nah to be honest I think we made them look good but credit to Exeter for playing neat stuff and not parking the lorry.

I've maybe seen better teams defensively at BP, but I haven't seen a front 4 cause us as many problems as Exeter did. They created so many openings particularly first half, their second goal was really well worked and nearly got another boy long after. It did all die down when Reid went off though.

I've said this before, but Exeter are one of the best teams I've seen at the WHCS this season too. Looked really good against us and I'm baffled they're doing so poorly.

They must obviously be doing something wrong.

It's because we have a twat of a manager who signs shit defenders who are either slow or are always injured. Add to that we have no nasty bastard in midfield. What I'd give for a Jason Kennedy or someone similar.

Going forward, especially away when there's more space we look great. You won't get a much better front four than Holmes, Wheeler, Watkins and Reid but when you constantly concede it makes their job twice as difficult.

I expect we will be bottom 6 all season and I bet we won't win more than 3 home games which would most likely mean relegation as we're going to hit a dip away from home sooner or later.

Why has your twat of a manager not been sacked yet then?
