Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
he's too good for this level so expected he'd go as he wasn't on a contract here.

he may have gone too early, he's a quality player who has clearly lost his way and dropped like a bomb, it was turning for him at Curzon he may end up regretting that move as he could slump back....that we'll only find out later on.

massive blow for Curzon....have to try and find another as it was difference between midtable and relegation.

oh and one more add to the morgan signing because its actually a bloody good move for halifax...but......do their fans think they will play a different way because Morgan has said a reason he played well with Curzon is the all passing game they play, making moves for him............he won't suit that big aimless constant lump to the big lad up front stuff you constantly played at Curzon, play that and you'll just waste money on a player who will do nothing............do you think his signing may be a trying to change the system?

No, because no-way is this Billy Heath's signing. This is the chairman, as sick as the fans of seeing donkey after donkey brought across from North fucking Ferriby, preparing for life after Heath. If Heath plays him at all, he'll stick him on the wing. :bdick:

So are Halifax now on their way to becoming National League North Champions 2017 again with this signing?

Well despite asking for a bigger allocation Halifax have returned 250 un-sold tickets for our Boxing Day clash. We had shifted 130 of these by 11.30 this morning but unsure how many we have sold since then.

Quite surprised at some of the comments made on their forum about our ground. Unfortunately, we weren't lucky enough to go bust and start again - debt free - in a stadium in town. In fact, we didn't go bust all....

If Halifax have splashed some cash to get Morgan in does that mean we can expect another desperate plea from the chairman for people to bother turning up? Or has he given up on that front? :dk:

they wont have paid anything for him, he wasnt on a contract, just with curzon to get himself fit and back into confidence.........his goals grabbed curzon about £200,00 in FA cup money and in return he's got himself a move to a club which will pay him a decent wage.

big problem for Fax as being discussed above is will their manager bring out the same form in him as he had at Curzon or bring out the same poor form he's had everywhere.........if they can get form out of him they will have one hell of a strikeforce.

No there wasn't. There was an optimum target of selling 1700 cheap tickets to make the offer worthwhile. A target is not an expectation, it is an objective. As he was basically asking existing fans to pay up front and get a discount on matchday prices, it was hardly a plea for more fans. As it happened they broke existing record season ticket sales 3 times over. Gates are up on last season, which were themselves up on the year before despite relegation, and are higher than more than half in the National League and within touching distance of a League 2 club. So all in all I don't think our support is an issue, what do you think? :bdick:

So big day today with some huge fixtures.

Tamworth Vs Nuneaton
Fylde Vs Chorley
Telford Vs Alfreton
Altrincham Vs FCUM
Boston Vs Gainsborough
Brackley Vs Gloucester
Darlington Vs Halifax
Harrogate Vs Stockport
Salford Vs BPA
Stalybridge Vs Curzon
Worcester Vs Kidderminster

and of course its the reverse fixture on New Year.....2 quick back to back games vs either the same lucky or unlucky side.

At the top it has drawn a couple of big games with Fylde Vs Chorley easily the pick of the games. If Fylde can grab 4-6 points from this period it could well be title 'theirs', but if Chorley grab 4-6 points it could leave title picture wide open if either Kidderminster or Tamworth can take 6 points from festive games they 'should' be grabbing 6 points from.

As for the chasing pack, Darlington return back to Darlington in a new home, but face a Halifax side that must really cannot lose either game vs them, it is a huge play-off battle game because fax have games in hand, Darlo win these 2 games and it makes the gap so large those games make little difference, but if Fax deny Darlo wins or grab the wins themselves it gives them a great opportunity to grab top 5.

Of the other chasing pack, Salford have an interesting game Vs an in-form BPA, Salford need to really grab 4-6 points to capitalise or Darlo facing Halifax, but BPA need points here to not waste their tremendous work the last 2 months. Stockport face Harrogate in probably last chance saloons for them.......6 points or season over is best way to describe them games.

Speaking of last chance saloon........we come to Altrincham and Stalybridge, in a do-or-die manchester derby festive periods, both clubs have possible back-to-back wins.......both FCUM and Curzon are not strong Conf North clubs, but failure to deliver 6 points really should see them gone and finished.........the clump of teams above all play each other Telford/Alfreton/Gainsborough/Boston and Worcester-Nuneaton should really lose......means wins for any of the clubs down here could be vital.

and as for me i cannot wait for today and the Tameside Derby......my first proper derby game. Am having to walk from one ground to the other which is a new experience (no buses between Ashton and Stalybridge today)

Game much much tougher with Morgan gone, he could finish off moves, now we will be back to trying to work ball in with limited end product (until hopefully we quickly find another player) but on the plus side this is a game we really have a great chance in winning even without Morgan (but while i knew he would go in January i had hoped we'd have him for these and grab 6 points)

big game because if we win this we go into a comfortable position, lose these and we're in serious trouble because these are the games all the rest have been winning...........for them it is do or die.

Absolutely huge double header v Telford for us. We have had damaging defeats away to BPA and Nuneaton recently along with Boston and FCUM earlier in the season. We cannot afford another. 4-6 points v Telford is a must IMO. Its an interesting contrast tho wih one team struggling to find the net while the other cannot keep them out.

Oh and we have an atrocious record at Telford. Just 2 goals scored and one win there in 10 visits or something.

Going to my first Boxing day game in 5 years too. Hoping for something similar to last season where a 2-1 win at Tamworth kick started a 14 match unbeaten run.

Will be interesting to see how Darlo respond today to the iffy form and the change of location. 3000 home fans should give them a lift and make the place feel like home straight away. Shame I'll be missing it today.

Great to be moving back to the town even though I live much closer to the other ground.

Danny Rowe has scored a ridiculous 32 goals this season for £ylde. I'd have thought bigger clubs would come knocking again for him, depends on how big his wages are though. They're looking unstoppable at the moment.

Stalybridge 0-2 Curzon at half time.

We have in reality been pretty awful this half, but thankfully playing one of two teams in this league who cannot capitalise on it.

We were really sloppy first 25 mins, constantly making mistakes, but they didn't score and we did from a good header off a free kick.

Their confidence went and we grabbed a second, been on top since......although staly did have a chance but gave the single worst one-on-one attempt I have seen.

They are gone.....they have zero game plan and just kick it forward in hope, the locals are not happy

What a fucking win, best performance of the season by far, amazing support. Walker was class again, bagging 2. Another win at home could be huge.

Stalybridge 1-2 Curzon

An enjoyable second half, really didn't deserve win in the end but they flogged some good opportunities.

Bloody cold there, but really like the ground

Rowe may have scored 32 goals this season but he couldn't breach the magnificent Chorley back line today. Could we play them every week please, make this league a bloody sight easier if we could. Fylde were outplayed! Jason Walkers goals were top drawer!

Quite a good thing we did not sell our allocation. Just about enough room in behind the goals for those that were there. And we then had the idnignity of not being allowed to leave early when we had seen enough, but instead locked in for over 10 minutes.

Good luck in future to the outdoor catering team when the have to serve overpriced food and drink in the rain. 250 away fans is about all the ground is capable of hosting.

Well aided by the liner bottling a nailed on red card for Cartman and a Halifax manager playing a dubious right back in centre midfield. Alfreton fans, any history of Moyo playing there for you?

We only play for about 20mins in each half these days i am afriad. I am not joining the Heath Out calls yet but he is soon to be on borrowed time. Our supporters are voting with their feet at the moment after the turgid sunday league football being witnessed.

Today was possibly the worst game of football I have ever seen. Thanks to Storm Barry or whatever the fuck we're calling this one it was 90 mins of aimless punts upfield separated only by a quality finish by Meppen-Walter (and some bizarrely casual goalkeeping by them).

Out of interest Harrogate fans, if there were only a 1,000 there today, where the hell do you fit the other 3,000 in when you get a capacity crowd?!?
