Weakest Chorley side that I've seen us play. We won fairly comfortably after an early scare where they almost scored. Not the most free flowing match but a good result in front of a pitiful home crowd for us

Alfreton 0-1 Southport. If we had a fit centre-forward who could finish it would have been more.

We've started well but the next 5 games will be a truer test of whether we are genuine promotion contenders.

Not sure what to make of today's game?
3-0 up should of been 6,Said to my mate Nuneaton are neat but got nothing up front.
Enter York keeper, pushed striker over when running out of play for goal kick and gets penalty, then drops a cross for 2nd straight into player running in.absolute shocking goalkeeping.

Congratulations on the well deserved three points. We got what we deserved. Nothing. We were absolutely pathetic. Did manage a shot of any note at all never mind on target. You should have won by a much more comfortable margin and would have done if it was for our keeper. We were non existent as an attacking unit.
Our manager McDermott was understandably livid at the final whistle and I think embarrassed. He has said a number of the players today wont play for the club again. We have completed a deal today with a marquee signing apparently to be announced in the next few days. John would say a name but it sounds like Andi Thanoj. Also he is going to look to bring in someone else ahead of the game at Kidderminster.

I'm not sure what to make of our match we started badly and finished badly as simple as that, we were very poor today and looked nothing like the side that fought tooth and nail to get a draw at York.
I was actually glad when the atrocious and absolutely clueless referee blew the final whistle.

But fair play to Telford and good for them, they deserved the win in the end.
Actually, if it wasn't for a brilliant one handed save down at the near post by our keeper Bartlett the score would have been 2-0.

Fully deserved win for Telford. Stopped us playing, and we didn't know how to change tactics. Poor crowd as well, considering previous results.

Agree, that's if we ever started playing like it was one of the worst matches I've ever seen.
Crowd figure was shocking considering we had a slim chance of going top, well depending on the outcome of other results on the day.

We look an utter shambles at the moment.
Too many passengers on the field. Wasted signings from the manager who is looking very tactically naive. And somehow we are achieving something which I did not believe was possible - making last season`s team look useful! A long old season in prospect I think. Only 6 players came away with any credit yesterday, the keeper, four defenders and Bradley Wood. The rest including Disley were very poor. Lavelle Moore was a joke in the first half and this level is just too much for Brody Robertson from Cleethorpes.
Good to hear the manager intends to make big changes now rather than in a few month`s time and end up cut cut adrift like Altrincham and Stalybridge last season

A week ago, we were being told that if anyone was going to win the league it was Alfreton?

Well it must be about time to give North Ferriby a pat on the back.
Finally broke their scoring and points ducks with a win at Blyth Spartans.

Well.... When is it going to change. We have the 2nd worst attack behind ferriby and we are coming up against the only team with a 100% record and the best defensively.... Not looking forward to next week

We've signed Matty Hughes from flyde, must mean a striker is on his way, we have 4 already, my money (sadly) is on walker

You didn't sign him from Fylde as they didn't renew his contract after he was implicated in the betting scandal.
You could be signing a player who is in for a lengthy ban. Just saying.

Yeah, only realised that yesterday, but I don't really see why we've signed him seen as we need a goalscorer, not a winger... We don't even play wingers

Doubt he'll be banned, fairly sure he just got a fine from the FA.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
A wee bit worried for us, although Tamworth smashed is Las season and maybe know how to play us. My worry is we seem to have ditched everything we had and changed to a defensive/direct approach...which isn't good when you let a 3 and 4 goal against in first 5 games!

But I do not see it like last season at the bottom, gonna be a hard long scrap......very close between a few sides and all points may count.

Leamington 2-3 Stockport.

Thank the lord for Jason Oswell! Having taken the lead and throwing it away, to find ourselves 2-1 down with only minutes to go our prospects didn't look good at all. But up popped Oswell to convert Sam Walkers corner in the 86th minute. And then in a moment of joyous delight, turned a Jimmy Ball cross into the net 4 mins into stoppage time to give us the victory!

Not a pretty game but a win is a win.

Gannon has certainly found the goal scorer we so badly lacked last season, but on the flip side, the loss of Montrose is showing as we look much less solid at the back.

Next 5 games should give us a good indication of where we are, with Gainsborough, BPA and Southport due to visit EP. With away games at Tamworth and York.

That makes two of us. Saturday could get very ugly. I know Kidderminster have not started well but they are strong at home and we still look a long way short at the moment. Wholeshale changes have been made but if anything were are getting worse! :dk:

DSL unless we make a CB signing I'll still be worried. But hopefully Bradley loves a goal against his old club.

I believe Rankine is also on 3 for us, one at BPA and two against Nuneaton on Saturday.

Can't grumble at Brackley's start - but the real hard work starts now. So far we've beaten the bottom 3 teams, team in 15th and Spennymore. Next 5 games will be a lot more competitive. Midfield looks good, still like our strikers to weigh in with more goals. A little more depth than last year's squad - subs adding value in matches. Good crowds - 3% of the small town's population turning out if we get 400 at home ... equivalent for York would be around 6,500 or Southport 3,000.

Unclear about strength in the league as so many sides still finding their feet, but still expect Salford to win it comfortably, 2-5th to include York, Harrogate, Darlington & Stockport, and then us, Kiddy and Chorley to be around the 6th - 7th 'new' playoff places?

Fear for NFU and Leamington (saw the Brakes twice last season and wasn't impressed) - FCUM looked poor, but a couple of wins could put a different shine on things.

Looks like Alfreton, Nuneaton and Boston's early hopes for a great season falling away - but tough to build a whole new squad from scratch and hit the ground running. Feel for those whose pre season hope is ebbing away...

When we started to look around this league after last year's relegation, we all thought Salford would walk it. I'm pleasantly surprised that Brackley are top with 5 from 5. Full respect.

Hopefully we'll continue to make a good show of ourselves, and push on. I don't think many York fans expect us to win the league, and most would be very happy with a playoff place. Anything other than a relegation scrap would be a welcome reprieve from what we've had to deal with for the past few years.

The problem is that if we don't go up this season, we look stuffed. And there is only one promotion place through the play-offs. Should we actually make the play-offs I'd fancy us to win them under Mills, but it still seems the likelihood of failure is pretty high.

Oh.... Fairly sure which one it will be if true - one definitely looking to get back to full time football and pulls all the strings of the side. Be a real shame for us, but can't blame the player.

We're still apparently waiting for international clearance for Gary Stopforth. A lad from Burnley who played in Australia for about 2 months.

He signed on 11th August.......... I don't recall any Premier League international clearance applications taking 11 days?!

Does it take anyone else forever to get international clearance? This is the second in as many times, and the last time we just gave up.
