Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Seven more killed in Kalamazoo.

If only the eight year old girl had been packing heat.

Worst mass shooting in US History it seems. And you know the sad thing is that we're not even shocked anymore. It happens too often in that country. How many people have to die before that country does something significant to combat the problem and I don't mean give MORE people guns. Such a broken country.

Its sickening that I'm actually surprised its the worst at 'only' 50 people. Seems like these things are becoming more and more common, or maybe I'm just more in tune with the news now?

Dont know how long America can go on protecting whatever part of their constitution it is that says you can carry a weapon at the expense of people going out clubbing, wanting nothing but harmless fun and leaving in a body bag.

No significant gun laws were passed at the federal level after the Sandyhook massacre. If dozens of children under the age of 10 didn't prompt a change, nothing will.

Sounds more like an outright hate attack than anything politically motivated.

Read a quote on Twitter earlier about the same. The gun control debate died in America after the nation decided that killing kids was bearable as long as they kept their guns.

Yeah where does his homophobia come from if it isn't religion?

The fact that he was able to legally buy a gun despite apparently being on an FBI watch list shows how mental the gun debate in America has become. Law to stop that was blocked by the GOP.

"find gays a bit icky" (wonderful turn of phrase there) is a bit different to killing 50 and injuring another 50.

One is someone who really needs to grow up and the other I find incredibly hard to believe had no religious foundations.

the father of the perpetrator seems to disagree with you, however

Homophobia may have its roots in religion (let's face it all three Abrahamic religions are inherently homophobic) but it's a much wider societal issue which though improving does still invoke virulent hatreds. There's been many attacks in this country on the gay community by the far right, for example, not usually inspired by religion.

The guy was on the FBI watch list, had Islamic extremist connections but he just found gays a bit icky and this had nothing to do with religion.
