Well that was a near as a perfect half as you'll ever see. Did everything right. Henderson and Matip have been fantastic. Wijnaldum has been looking good as well. Hopefully we can keep it up in the second half.

Too late with the changes though surely.

Chelsea started the game like they were the away team defending a 1st leg lead in a two tie knockout. Liverpool destroyed em, Conte fucked up bad.

Spot on. That's where they lost the game, came out with the wrong mentality.

Anyway, fantastic performance. Also, a bit of a collector's item to be fair. Usually from the point when Chelsea score, it's always been a case of 3-1 or 2-2 from us in the past couple of years. Haven't been able to see out games at all. Two points per game average from that very tough start, couldn't have asked for more.

Game over. Deserved win. Chelsea looked a bit clueless.

Really don't like seeing Kante in that lineup. If you're gonna take him off of us at least play to his strengths. There is absolutely no need to have Kante sat next to Matic in that midfield. It's overkill and limits Chelseas attacking options.

Strangely confident here as it's not so much the games against the big teams that are an issue. Since Klopp took over we have played Arsenal, City, United and Chelsea in 7 league games and lost only one of them.

Win or a draw for me, I'm going for a tight Liverpool victory with Mane and Firmino bagging the goals for us and Costa for Chelsea.

1-2

Nailed it.

Cracking result. As said above, real shit start fixtures wise, but I'm happy with what we've done.

That was a great game to watch, thought Liverpool fully deserved their victory as well. Klopp has them playing some great stuff and I've really enjoyed watching them this season, as for Chelsea they were pretty poor tonight and gave Liverpool far too much time on the ball, the defending for the first goal was shambolic, the second goal is world class. Was surprised it took Conte until the 84th minute to make changes, it was crying out for them at half time. On what I've seen so far can definitely see the Scousers challenging the top 4.

Impressive performance first half. The link up play and passing were spot on. Despite the loss against Burnley, I'm happy with the start.. 10 points from the Champions as well as Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea away is great.

I thought second half we let them come on to us a bit too much which is always worrying with out defence but at least Matip and Lovren looked solid together.

I am one of those who's been criticising Henderson for a while and although he's still got more to prove he has had a really good couple of games. Great strike too even if his shooting still is generally crap.

We'll go and lose to Hull next, it's the Liverpool way!

Great win and well deserved by all accounts. I didn't get to see the match but there's nothing on the telly tonight so I'll find a stream and watch it there and give my thoughts on the game and the players after.

Hendo superb again. Hopefully he puts his injury problems behind and continues to perform as well as he did last couple of games.

That was very, very poor. I've no idea what Conte was doing. Why wait until the 83rd minute to make any changes whatsoever when we've been distinctly second best all game? Baffling.

The important question: is 'we are Liverpool, tralalalala' the shittest football song in the history of the game?
Nah, this one wins that award. I cringe whenever I hear it

I think you need to add Liverpool next to HSV and Wolves in your supports section, mate.

I can't watch enough Liverpool games live at Anfield to call myself a Reds-supporter but I am " a liker" nonetheless since the days of Kevin Keegan in the mid 70's (and especially after Kevin had chosen to play for my HSV and made an immediate impact for us)

And btw: My 2-1 Reds prediction before the match: Nice one, right? OK, Costa didn't get a red card but I can live with that

Ouch, I don't think the foreign Liverpool fans on the forum are going to take that one very well mate!

It's only my opinion. See, I have a season ticket for HSV so I call myself a HSV Supporter and I have watched many Wolves matches at Molineux in over 30 years. But I watched only a handful matches live at Anfield (last one was the Europa League match against Dortmund). So I am a Reds fan but no supporter.
That's only my definition of supporter / fan. Other foreign fans may see it different and maybe even call themselves supporter while watching their team only on TV. I have no problem with that but it's not my definition of a supporter.

As if there are loads of non-foreign fans in this forum who go to PL games regularly :bg1:

If you can get the tickets than it's technically not a big problem nowadays to fly "over" for a match. Even a lot of UK Football Fans visit Bundesliga Matches regularly (at Dortmund and even at HSV they are seen for example). OK if you live in the US it's not so "easy" but from the continent? Not a problem

edit: I see you wrote about "non foreign" fans. Sorry, I've overread the "non" .
