We've signed Gime Toure on a 1 year deal. Really happy with that.

I am also really happy with that. He was raw, but so strong and fast. I think JA could work wonders on him. For the first time in many years, we are starting the season with more than two strikers in the squad, and a target man of sorts.

Who's Gime Toure? Can't say I've heard of him, and didn't feature in our friendly last weekend?

He didn't feature in that game. He had been on trial with Wrexham all pre-season but they let him go.

I don't think we necessarily let Gime go

By all accounts Keates wanted to play him again in Tuesday's friendly still on trial, but he obviously wants the security of trying to get a deal quickly elsewhere, which is fair enough. He had looked good: strong and quick, good in the air; but just kept seeming to miss great chances in every match.

Yeah he can't finish, that's the problem. We watched him over 5 or 6 matches and obviously didn't think he was good enough. I'm surprised Macc have signed him up based on 1 friendly match.

He did look pretty raw - his touch was a bit hit and miss, although he did almost score with a reasonable shot from outside the box. Wilson and Marsh have both looked like natural finishers throughout pre-season but we have lacked power and strength upfront - Gime fills that gap.

Macc seem to have a weird approach to signings. In the interview with Durrell it sounds like he hadn't ever spoken to Askey.

Gime had some qualities. He didn't look good enough for this league to me. Will be interesting to see how he gets on over a season.

Orient have signed centre back Josh Coulson on loan from Cambridge for 6 months. Excellent bit of business IMHO.

We love a good non scoring forward, for as well as we've done in recent years out of Jennings and Boden, they're are very much the anomolies in the last 15 years for us.

Don't understand this either, fuck knows who arranges the transfers. Unless all Askey says is "Will you play for us" and that's good enough! After all, who can turn down a free bed.

Actually I forgot that Toure will turn into prime Ronaldo this season, he's signed for MACC. 30 goals at least.

Great signing, hasn't played since November owing to injury but that's the first bad one he'shad in his career. You wouldn't have seen many of us grumbling if he'd started next week so he should be one of the best centre backs in the Conference. Really hope it goes well for him and he can come back here in January straight into our starting XI.

Agreed. Always rated JC.

Billericay really are taking the piss now. They're even trumping us which, if Dover, Maidenhead, Maidstone and Sutton fans are to be believed, was impossible.

I don't know what our wage budget is this season, I don't know what Tranmere's is either, but we must both be in the same ballpark as Billericay? It's mental.

I suspect that he'll no doubt have enough money to bankroll Billericay into the National League, but there I think he won't be able to maintain them on personal finances alone.

Looks like Jermaine Pennant hasn't actually signed for Billericay

Jermaine Pennant then told me he hasn’t yet signed a deal to join Billericay on a permanent basis, and has also had offers from elsewhere, so has yet to decide whether he will actually join the club.
“An offer has been put forward…nothing’s been signed…I’ll speak to my family and make a decision this week”, he said.

Azalte and Abrahams both sold to Brighton and Norwich for undisclosed fees, although the rumours mill suggests Abrahams went for £250k and Azalte went for £400k:

Abrahams will be loaned back to us for the forth coming season though.

Gutted about losing Steve Azalte, such a talented player for only 18 years of age - If he keeps his head screwed on, he will be a quality player one day.
