We've signed Gillingham midfielder Billy Knott on loan until the end of the season.

Sounds like it. He's already made 23 appearances for Gillingham this season and their fans seem to think he's one of their best midfielders.

Sounds like a good playmaker in League One, never mind in non-league. I'm guessing the Cowley's know him fairly well as he's from the Essex area.

Wasn't he prolific down here for someone else a few seasons ago?

Let's hope he's Knott that good.

Lincoln are running away with it enough already.

He was excellent on loan for us a few seasons ago, too good AND clever for this league which makes it a surprise that he's back. Creative midfielder. Think he can play out wide but we played him in the #10 role in a 4-3-3 formation. So not entirely sure how he'll fit in at Lincoln, who only seem to play 4-4-2 at Rhead's face.

We signed him in the summer essentially when we all assumed Dack would be leaving. He didn't, and we've ended up over-loaded with midfielders. I like the way Bill plays but he wasn't getting in the side and we needed space in the squad for another centre back which we've now got in N'Gala (super excited about that one by the way) so it's a shame but understandable.

Or maybe you haven't got N'Gala?

FOOTBALL: #Gills signing of defender Bondz N'Gala is OFF because he's already played for two 'professional' clubs this season.

I believe N'Gala actually signed his Gillingham contract, so the Gills actually have to pay him every month even though they are not allowed to play him.
Hilarious!, & almost as funny as us paying £65k for him just 8 weeks ago and then releasing him....but not quite.

It's been an odd day.

Loaning out a very capable player (albeit in a position we have several options) to play in non-league so that we have some budget room for a player who we now can't play. Are National League sides still able to make loan signings from us even though the window has closed? If so, then Eastleigh would seem obvious, although Allen has now got rid of him twice within 3 months so is he going to want him anyway?!

Also, if National sides have different loan rules to us then that makes the reasoning behind us not being able to play him fucking ridiculous.

He was absolutely woeful for us this season, Barrow fans. See Ben Tomlinson.
If he plays as well as Tomlinson did for us last season he'll be fine.
Tuton scored for Halifax against us in the Trophy last season

A strange one this, and I can't really understand what his role will be - we've now got six strikers (not trainees, not wingers that can play up front - proper senior strikers). Even then, this guy is short, yet we've played two big lads up front all season, and signed another last week. The two in his mould - Hannah and Panayiatou - have barely had a look in. I think Hannah is gone already (Fylde or Chorley probably) and Panayiatou is apparently off to play for St Kitts for another spell, so at best Tuton will be cover for them.

Hope he's decent though.

Hahahahahahaha. A year and a day after leaving us for Barnsley, he's back in the Conference. Good player, terrible attitude (he refused to play for us after we rejected an initial offer for him from Barnsley)

Tried and failed to get here in the summer, funny how things work out.
Hope he's full recovered as he should be a cracking signing for us.
