at the first half of the Dortmund vs Mainz match (2:0) a dortmund fan died due to a heart attack. both fan groups stopped their support in the second half. really weird atmosphere but big respect to both fan groups

Hannover look well and truly buggered. However, I don't see Frankfurt dropping down so the relegation battle looks to be where the Buli is most interesting again. Anyone from Koln in 11th, I think.

Nah. Bottom 4 will remain bottom 4. Still reckon Frankfurt will go down automatically (I mean, c'mon, they only beat Hannover!) while Hoffenheim or Werder will finish in the play-off position (and win it against Nurnberg).

Hoff are a different prospect under Nagelsmann. I can see them escaping and pulling some others in. It's only 6 points from Koln (9th) to Frankfurt (17th) so I think there'll be a few changes over the coming weeks.

Hannover are gone but there are 8/9 sides within 5/6 points of each other at the bottom trying to avoid the 2nd automatic spot and play-off.

Can see there being a few changes down at the bottom in the coming weeks, should be an interesting end. Personally hoping for a major Bayern slip up purely because I can't stand Pep, but it's never going to happen.

Hoping that St. Pauli can push into that top 3 in the Bundesliga 2 if anybody follows the lower tier but reckon that top 3 is who will go up now.

Genuinely reckon that 3rd of the Buli Zwei actually have a chance of knocking out whoever finishes 16th (which will probably be Hoffenheim). All 3 sides are in superb form.

Same here, will make for an interesting play off match but I think on their day St Pauli could do it. If it is indeed them who finish 3rd.

Hoffenheim have been awful to watch at times, I can see Augsburg clawing some points from their run-in and getting above that play off spot and Bremen can definitely be beaten. So, as a casual follower of them I'm hopeful.

Certainly applies in Dortmund. However each time I've been I've picked my ticket up on the day. However, it was 2€ for a tram ticket across town anyway so effectively buggar all.

normally the ticket allows you to use the public service for free on a matchday, but only in the city of the host.

is it possible in England to transfer your season ticket to a other person for one game or more? i mean it how it works here in Germany.

Well I had to move back to France so won't be doing any regular trips. We were thinking about doing one with Yellow but I stupidly favoured the Northern derby (which I didn't get a fucking ticket for!) over a trip to Dortmund or someone in the Ruhr.

As for the second question, you can most definitely not pay for public transport in Germany. It is legal for you not to do it if you have a match ticket but nobody checks if you have your ticket so it really doesn't matter. In other words, just pay your flight/train ticket and you'll be fine.

I will be studying at a University in Hessen and part of the set up means as a student I won't have to pay for any transport within the state so I'll be looking to do lots of local ones if possible.

Finally, do Eintracht Frankfurt sell out normally or not?

You probably won't have much trouble getting a ticket for Eintracht: they're shite.

Go to Mainz (superb ground) and Darmstadt in the Buli while you have FSV Frankfurt in the Zwei. And enjoy it you lucky git!

I'm hoping to move come the start of next year, got my saving pot going and I'm starting my German lessons come Wednesday.

Unrelated like but I've been to Hamburg and Berlin quite a few times now, and a short stay in Munich once, but I'm heading over for a week or so in July to tour around an check out some different places to get more of a feel. Anywhere people can recommend would be cushty (I absolutely love both Berlin and Hamburg if that helps at all)

But also on topic, mentioned it above, how do people think Ancelotti will do at Bayern? And do you think Guardiola will try to snatch anyone from the squad? (Similar to Thiago to Bayern)

Go around quite a few beer festivals but haven't done Oktoberfest myself.
Had some pals that's went over and said it was great but an absolute fortune and that they'd probably not do it again based on that.

as mm said, Eintracht, Mainz and Darmstadt in the Bundesliga, FSV in the second and Wehen Wiesbaden in the third.

also a visit worth is former Bundesliga club Offenbacher FC Kickers ( they regulary playing in front of 10,000 fans at home in the german lower leagues) and Hessen Kassel, the club which will be always remembered for missing promotion to the Bundesliga with being 9 points ahead with 3 games to go.

btw: where you want to study? Marburg?

Meh. You get a lot of c*** who suddenly drink beer daily just because there's a beer festival going on (bit like St Paddys if you catch my drift). I mean it is one of those things that you must do once in your life but financially it makes no great sense. There are too many people and you basically have to get up at 6am to drink beer (which costs 10€ a litre). I've done it twice but it certainly isn't the things I remember most fondly from my two years in Munich.
