We know that'll never happen. It's the Mourinho factor. He could be in a coma and he'd still beat Wenger in a head to head.

Surely on borrowed time, this is starting to make a bit of a mockery of Abramovich's treatment of previous managers who didn't make the grade. Anyone else at Chelsea would have gotten the boot with just half the shit results that they have had so far, history shows this to be true. Di Matteo is just one example. He had more points after 6 games in the 2012-2013 season than Mourinho has after 16 this season. Was still sacked in the November.

Yeah but that way of doing things has brought them to this point. You get in a manager, he brings success, it's not immediately followed by more success he's booted, rinse and repeat. Maybe Roman has got it into his head that they probably can't keep doing that and dominate the league and compete at a high level in Europe, which is probably what he expected once upon a time. If there's one guy to stick by (for Abramovich) it's Mourinho. He's shown he can be successful, he's more than capable of being successful again, just not in the league this season. He needs to make the FA cup and the CL ties count. Doesn't look likely for the latter but stranger shit has happened. The current league table for example.

It does all boil down to that incident on first day of season and Hazard got his own back tonight with Jose wanting him to go back on and he just walked off. Mourinho did not care for his players welfare on opening day and since then Hazard and co are throwing Jose under bus at least in Premier League.

Chelsea seem to be trying but they are not really busting a gut for the cause.

He needs to make sure his club will make 40 points first before thinking about cups. It seems far fetched, and it is, but its not something to dismiss in the pursuit of silverware. And longer the rot goes on, the harder it is to shake out of it.

Perhaps they could sack Jose and bring in Eva? Maybe that'd work?

Chelsea have been poor since selling De Bruyne and Schurrle. They fell over the line last season once they had been sold.

They are well and truly in the relegation mire now. If they lose their next game, they could be in the bottom 3.

De Bruyne went in 2014 and never really had an impact for Chelsea so I don't think his sale has had any effect. Though saying that they could do with the player he has become.
Schurrle on the other hand I'm not sure would make a difference to them.

It is funny though when you look at what that side appears to lack and what they have let go. Lukaku up front, De Bruyne pulling the strings instead of a largely ineffective Oscar. Schurrle could provide competition for Hazard and so give him a kick up the arse.
It's a bit weird that they buy these players at young ages with the idea that they may become good enough for the first team yet never really blood them in and then get rid, only for those players to turn into what was expected and currently what's needed. I mean the Matic situation was a bit of a joke really wasn't it?
Of course there'll be the defence that they've made lots of money on those player sales, and that's probably quite valid, except that Lukaku for example cost them about £18mill, they've sold him for £30mill was it? So a £12mill profit. But they've gone out and bought Costa because they needed a striker, spent £32mill on Costa, and he looks like he'll need replacing in the Summer! Is that good business? I suppose if they'd kept Lukaku and not bought Costa you could say that they wouldn't have won the league last year. Probably valid.

Well it's at home against Sunderland. I know we're "only Leicester" but we're in fine form and top of the league, and at home, and so although traditionally a lot of sides would see this as a massive loss it's not that bad in the context of the season for any side.
To lose at home against another struggling side, in what is now I suppose a 6 pointer, would be a real low. Like fucking snakes belly low. Katie Hopkins and Jeremy Kyle offspring low.

Chelsea have got Sunderland, Watford and United in the next three games - they'll be flying high in mid-table again before 2016.

I think that is a failure of management at every level. These are all great players, and they needed mentorship and coaching to improve. Getting rid of some of the best young talent in europe and then seeing what theyve done to their youth players, they are a club that destroys playing careers.

“I feel my work was betrayed. I worked four days on this match, I prepared everything related to the opponent, I identified four movements where they score almost every one of their goals.

“My players got all that information in training in the last three days and in four types of situations that I identified, they conceded the first and the second goals.

“Sometimes, I find myself thinking that last season I did an amazing job and I brought players to a level that is not their level and if this is true, I brought them to such a level that they couldn’t keep it up for more than the super motivation to be leader and almost champions. That is one possibility.

“Another possibility is that this season we start individually and collectively so bad that in the Premier League maybe the sequence of bad results brought the players to a position in the table where they are not scared of relegation, where they feel they don’t belong to the relegation battle but where they don’t have the motivation to be champion, or to be top two or to be top four. So I think both possibilities, one of them can be real."
Come on. Time for Jose to resign or for Abramovich to sack him. Chelsea have weaknesses but they won the league last season. They would benefit from a fresh approach.

Fair play to Jose for mentioning the phrase relegation battle openly. I didn't think he'd admit it to himself never mind in public.

Actually think Sunderland could hold Chelsea on Saturday. If one manager knows how to frustrate an attack, it's Allardyce.

If Chelsea were too garbage to score past our defence then what chance to they have against an actual defensive team?

The specialist in failure. I almost feel sorry for them, but when they back a manager who takes all the credit for last season then throws his players to the wolves when they're fighting relegation they deserve everything.

No to doubt at all, he's lost the dressing room and IMO will be sacked within the week.

Mourinho is a great short-term manager, but he lacks motivation skills to succeed in the long-term, it seems. It's happened to him pretty much everywhere. Can whip his players to great deeds in the first couple of seasons with his "come on, guys, you're better than anyone else, let's show everyone how great we are!" motivation, but that sort of rallying stops working at some point. For long-term motivation you need softer values, like the feeling of togetherness, self-improvement, sense of responsibility towards your teammates. And a charismatic and likable leader that his subordinates respect out of admiration rather than fear. Wenger is an excellent example of a good long-term motivator, although he doesn't always get the maximum out of his players in the short-term, while Mourinho is the opposite.

Hazard and co are throwing Jose under bus at least in Premier League.

If it's Jose's own bus it's not that bad, because Jose's bus is always parked.

RUMOURS that his replacement will be Juande Ramos. I *actually* think this would be a good appointment, as far as this season is concerned, anyway. Ramos has a track record of spectacularly turning around struggling teams (w Spurs he took them from relegation struggles to a League Cup win and safe midtable, w Real Madrid they won something mad like 18 out of 19 games to get them back in the title race, before fading away again). Interesting imvho.

Astonishing that Chelsea could be in the relegation zone by 5pm Saturday. Unlikely because it would need Sunderland to win by three goals at Stamford Bridge and Norwich to beat Man Utd.

They won't be in the relegation zone at any point this season. But the fact it's even under discussion is fucking fantastic.
