I look at the second half of last season, the fact we've lost Jabo over the summer, and then our signings this summer and I can honestly only see a relegation scrap for this team. Yes we have some quality in the likes of Adams, Kennedy, Jones etc, but the 2 business ends of the pitch look weak as fuck.

If we were to sign a quality striker I'd maybe change that prediction, but at this stage of the summer I can only see us signing shite that no one else wants.

Parkes started off ok for us and for what its worth I didn't think he was all that bad for us, but by the end of the season and amongst all our troubles his form like virtually every other senior player who we still had, who actually bothered to still try and play for us by the end was at rock bottom.

He worked better when the experienced Nicky Hunt played alongside him at CB for us, when he had a youngster next to him he struggled a bit.

Strong in the air and makes some good interceptions and tackles. He is also quite brave.

But he is prone to the odd brain fart like all CBs at this level with his decision making, can be prone to losing possession needlesly, he is also not the quickest in terms of pace.

One of those was Alexander Hleb who was playing for Arsenal at the time and he had provided his contract as proof of earning. Needless to say his contract was a minefield of information so its not surprising that deals take so long to conclude.

Parkes is a good league 2 central defender. He was excellent for us and I don't believe even Orient could have fucked him up so quickly. He's better than most in this league. Honestly Carlisle fans, don't think he's a crap signing. You'll love him.

I think I'm on a one man orient crusade here. Parkes was by far our best defensive player last season and is a good signing for Carlisle. Reckoned he'd go to an upper L2 side and I haven't been proved wrong. Don't think his ceiling is far above that, but I like Parkes, he's also deceptively good with the ball at his feet. Expect him to do well next season.

The 4.5k for O'Grady is absolute rammel. Fact.

His contract his heavily appearance and performance based and his basic pay is much much lower than that quoted in this thread. He's still the biggest out lay we have had in recent years including Sam Hird, Foodbanks Blake and Marc Richards.

Believe our wage bill is down from £2.1m to around £1.8m this side but we have released loads, the majority of whom were our big earners. Despite all this I still expect our finances to deteriate this season unless we are doing g well and getting 7/8k through the gates.

Seems Rob Sinclair, Rhys Murphy and Fabien Robert are dfinitely on their way out, none have been training with the rest of the squad or been at team meetings. We've signed right-back Jack Grimmer on a two year deal. He let the cat out of the bag a few days ago when he followed our Twitter account and 'liked' our kit launch post before quickly undoing both but it's good to have to confirmed. Was injured for the entire of last season because of a nasty leg break in the final game of the season before.
