Feels weird being on a forum where fgr don't have the biggest budget!
According to ChrisFGR you never had the biggest non league budget either. :ohy:

Parkes is a good league 2 central defender. He was excellent for us and I don't believe even Orient could have fucked him up so quickly. He's better than most in this league. Honestly Carlisle fans, don't think he's a crap signing. You'll love him.
You say he was excellent for us -- I beg to differ . He certainly made a lot of mistakes and costly ones at that.

He made mistakes but what do you expect from lower league players?
Overall he did well and I was disappointed he left though I understand that he wanted to be a regular starter. If you want players who never make mistakes then watching Rovers must be fucking terrible for you.

We've signed Ade Azeez from Partick Thistle.

I remember him being quick and do well for Wimbledon in the promotional season from the bench mainly so pleased with that signing.

I remember him only being a good conference player. Seemed incredibly inconsistent, hence why he's not pushed on.

Used as an impact sub by the Wombles and I suspect he'll be the same here.

With David Amoo that gives us "Two Jags" ......................We have a Norris Minor in goal and a Maris Marina ready to step up and replace our departing White Pele Convertible. Any other car related suggestions for the rest of our squad?

That could be a good thread. Describe your squad using cars.

Or maybe not

If you think that it was Parkes' fault that either club was relegated then I don't know how to help you. Remember he also has successive promotions on his CV. You seem determined to be a grumpy twat so I'll leave you to it.

Ok I'll stop being a grumpy twat for now, but if he turns out to be shit then you will be hearing from me again!

We've signed right-back Jack Grimmer on a two year deal. He let the cat out of the bag a few days ago when he followed our Twitter account and 'liked' our kit launch post before quickly undoing both but it's good to have to confirmed. I'd say aside from perhaps another right sided centre back that's out defence sorted now.
He had a good loan spell at vale 3 years ago so should be a good signing for Coventry.

Danny Green ex Luton latest to be linked... any good Hatters fans?
If we can get him fit then he wouldn't be a bad signing as he has had 2 seasons at this level before for Dagenham where he has scored 13 and 14 goals in a season from the wing.if we signed him and he got about 7 goals a season I would be happy with that.

He was well past his best even before he broke his leg and missed an entire season and more though. I'd be surprised if he got back to anywhere near his previous levels, never struck me as the fittest guy in the world either.

Pretty sure Azeez is someone we had a bid in for. Whether he was one of the accepted or rejected ones I don't know.

They said we'd beaten more than one league two club so most likely.

One with potential and should flourish if fit on the wide pitch at VP and have a decent record of getting the best out of wingers because of that I.e. JMW, Vincent, Marshall.

Seems the Tyrone Barnett rumours have resurfaced. I recall him being physical so would be similar moulded to Pope but massively flopped in recent years!

Seems a few trialists will be used in friendlies so be interesting to see.

If that young left back is Sam Hart then God help ya as he is shite defensively.

Hart started well when played out on the wing if I recall against Millwall but was poor at left back. Felt a bit for him though as he was often used in all sorts of weird positions by Bruno!

Noble 'not for sale' according to Mark Cooper, but admittedly there is the caveat that you can't believe a single word that Mark Cooper says.

I can't really see Noble returning to Notts but I could be wrong. Just based on knowing him as a footballer ruled more by his heart than his head (with the positives and negatives that go with that), you wouldn't expect him to relish going back to a club that cast him aside previously.

He's right though tbf, Noble isn't 'for sale', why would he be? Every players' got their price though.

100k seemed a bit cheap anyway, he's worth a lot more then that to us. Involved in 32 goals last season, (24 assists, 8 goals) not gonna replace that easily. Hopefully that will be it now, we keep Nobes and you keep your money.

Well the not believing what he's saying could be true. It's been reported that Noble has a year left. Cooper is saying 3?

Noble will hand in a transfer request if he really wants to leave. We are a lot closer to home for him, I don't think he's ever moved his wife and kids

He signed for the manager who banished him from the club then released him, so..

I think £100k is too much, but if it would annoy Cooper then I remain all for it.
