There is no need to check the land registry, no-one who lives in Bridgford would spell it 'Bridgeford' unless they were falsely claiming to be from there.

Anyway, on to the game, we didn't turn up as usual, second half at least, first goal seemed to kill us, was impressed with Rose's movement up top and Mirfin at the back, as I said earlier in the thread.

We'll be back, great run of fixtures coming up at home.

Calm down Jesus Christ.

Stags fans, I know Potter went off due to injury but he’s not been good enough, I don’t think he ever does enough with the ball in a good position. Omari was fantastic though and in my opinion him and Macca are clearly our two best wingers.

Forte was unfortunate in the fact he had to deal with Pearce all game who is a absolute fucking rock, same goes for Mirfin too.

Special shoutout to Hemmings who has been very poor this season, his performance and work rate was top notch and he’s so unlucky not to get his goal.

County just look very limited overall, it’s going to be intresting how they respond in the next 2/3 games.

To be honest I'm not worried how we will be over the next few games. We haven't really dominated many games, we aren't that kind of team. We will compete be solid band take our chances generally. We have been the same since Nolan came in and our form under him is impressive. We were going to lose. Teams generally don't go 11 unbeaten

No one expected Notts to be where we are. It's a huge bonus. We are not 25 points from safety. I'd be amazed if we made the autos, and delighted bwith play offs. We have a limited squad that plays well as a team.

Only good sides you've played are us, accrington and coventry and not beat any of !
Don't delude yourself, a good side shows signs of consistency not bombing 0 3 at the mighty Cheltenham, Exeter and Wycombe look pretty useful.

One performance doesn't make or break a season for either side, I'm sure most county fans would have taken 3 points from Exeter and Mansfield before Tuesday and that's what they've got. Likewise, after Tuesday's shocker the home fans expected a better showing and what has became the standard 3 points.

I was looking forward today as I thought for a change Notts would have a side to challenge us, but I was sadly wrong on that front, the forward line of Notts slow and immobile. Some county fan after the game claimed we "raise our game" as its Notts county. Are there actually fans who believe that? If so, how ridiculously wrong and pompous can you be, I assume it was a joke.

Rose played well for Mansfield, easily the MOM, he's movement was top notch, assisted by hemmings who again tried hard but unfortunately (to date) not good enough by a long shot. The defence was again solid

No joke from me, I claimed it before and after.
If it's not the case explain the 3-0 defeat to Cheltenham , followed by a 'night and day' improved performance against near neighbours and league leaders just 4 days later?

Are you suggesting Cheltenham are far superior to Notts? Maybe Mansfield already had one eye on their 'Cup final' when they played the Robins?

Can't wait to hear this explanation lol .

We didn't 'raise our game' specifically for County. We didn't need to. As I said previously, we won at a canter and County were distinctly average. I don't know why you keep saying it is our 'cup final'. That is a stupid statement and, quite frankly, you are making a bit of a tit of yourself by saying it.

I think 'won at a canter' is overstating it a bit. You just had a fifteen minute spell where everything fell right. Stuff like a slightly underhit back header and attempted clearance over his own bar by our own defender - in our recent games that kind of thing would've fallen into the arms of Collin or flown over the bar.

I think that whoever scored first was going to win the match and in the end Mansfield deservedly did, but I'm not hugely concerned tbh. That could've been Exeter, Crawley or Port Vale - all did similar things against us - it's just irritating that it was today.

So two responses and surprise surprise both avoided the simple direct question.

Explain why at cheltenham just a few days ago, "there were no positives" (not my words , the managers) a poor performance allround. Then shock horror a few days later, you are full of energy, high press, create chances, don't really look like conceding. Any Mansfield fan who went to both want to confirm that there wasn't much improvement between the two Stags performances ?

That's one hell of a couple of a training sessions in between . Come on boys, at least have a go at explaining why?

It's not bad to admit you lot raise your game when you play your bigger neighbours? Boy I wish Notts would raise their game just once against our local lower league rivals. Just once lol. We never get up for this game, unlike recent games against Lincoln and Exeter.

The best answer so far , unbelievably, is we are very limited based on 90 mins not the league table after 11 games. Classic North Notts education lol

I think if County would've scored a goal after half time like we did, they would've won. First goal was always going to decide it. After the goal, we took control & was clinical & finished every chance we had.

Rose, especially second half was awesome, as was Hemmings to be honest.

How did Exeter manage to pick themselves up today? It's another game and you go out and prove your worth after a loss, as our boys will presumably go and do when you next play.

Accrington are unbeaten in a longer stretch of results against us than what we have over you, maybe Accrington are just "upping their game for massive Mansfield" lol. Or it's just one of those sequence of results.

If you generally believe that we up our game against you then really, bless ya. Maybe just try not being shit sometime, and you might get a better result.

This is most amusing

OK then matey, if you insist. We certainly played better today, particularly second half. However, as stated twice previously, there was not much opposition for much of the half. You are implying that teams never have a bad game and then improve for the next. That is ludicrous. You seem to insist that we raised our game due to playing the 'massive' County in some poor attempt to demean or belittle us as your 'little neighbours'. I think you are still upset at being beaten and you need to accept that sometimes you will lose. End of story.

As someone who went to both the Cheltenham game and today's County game, the first half of both games were very similar. Fairly even games with Stags missing a couple of good chances in both games.

The difference was the early second half goal in both games. Today we scored it, on Tuesday the Robins scored it. Goals change games.
After the early second half goals both games panned out very similar with the home side winning comfortably.
Whoever scored first in both games would have ( and did) won, it is as simple as that.

Exactly NSE! "Whoever scored first.....", often is the way. Others should take note

I'm not upset, I predicted it (unlike many if any Stags fans pre game lol) as Adam rightly said we are shit against you year after year so is hardly a surprise to me or many Notts fans. I'm kinda used it, buddy, only difference this time is it's the first time I can ever remember losing our annual trip to Field Mill and still being top of the league. So no complaints here, no upset. Better side won, FGR next

Only disappointing thing was I was hoping for a draw to keep unbeaten run going.
No Notts fan thought we would only lose 2 out of first 11 league games so you'll struggle to find many if any sour grapes

Well done Mansfield, 3-0 isn't just luck.
We were due a defeat, everything has gone right for us the last few weeks, today Duffy made a mistake that was punished and that was that.
I thought the play offs was optimistic after watching us pre season, top three a bridge too far.The
Stags will be up there at the end, Evans is a winner and Radford has given him enough money to support the push.
We need to stay in the mix til Christmas and strengthen .

Everyone is getting a bit too excited. It's still within the first third of the season. We always get pasted at field mill. Normal service

As others have said, a fairly even first half and then the early second half goal swings the match in stags favour. Genuinely thought we'd lose.

So many contradictions between pre and post match in this thread it's hard to keep up lol

More bemusing than amusing.

Oh and congratulations on once living in an affluent suburb of Nottingham, I guess ?!

Anyway it's one game of 46. Onwards and upwards

It was a very typical Nottinghamshire derby. Notts huffed and puffed, Stags outbattled them and took their chances. It was a straightforward victory in the end and went like most have in recent years.

Have to say that I anticipated much more from County but at no point did I feel like they looked like taking the game. I also don't think that we showed that much more than we have been doing; a solid defensive display laying the foundations is how all of our wins have come.

Notts always seem to give up against us when they concede first. It's definitely a mental thing with them.
The more that they never seem to beat us, the more and more they get reminded of it every season which seems to play on their minds. We are the exact same with Accrington Stanley.

Just gatecrashing this thread as our one is lonely..
It is looking like there are 8 or 10 sides who, on their day, can beat anyone.
We didn't perform on Tuesday, we did yesterday, simple as that.
Not sure whether this is a good result for us, it's still too early to say who the top three will be, but I suspect you two, Luton, Swindon and Coventry won't be far off. It's all shaping up nicely..

How sensational was Danny Rose though, his effort and commitment is the same every game but his movement on Saturday was unreal.

Quite a few doubt his ability to get 20 goals in a season, I don’t think that’s beyond him at all.

Notts didn't turn up at all yesterday and looked a very one dimensional team Mansfield looked dangerous and deserved the win. Atmosphere at field mill yesterday was quality.

The biggest shock was just how poor the stewarding was. I've travelled to over 120 grounds with Notts and England and never seen such inept unprofessional and downright dangerous and provocative stewarding tactics. The trouble in the away end was totally avoidable.

It was a decent crowd in yesterday, 5400 home fans is a good effort, we're slowly getting there on that front, slowly. Was nice the atmosphere was alright too.

As for stewarding, it's almost like a weekly apology season on their behalf, always heavy handed. Though the police apparently intervened behind the away end when the county fans (again) started causing damage behind the away end - it's obviously a small number which don't reflect the other, decent fans
