I suppose he’s got to go through the motions of wanting to get the game on. I don’t know about him, but I don’t really fancy playing one of our big rivals after playing one game in a month, and then there’s the Ruben issue.

Bring on Dover.

Yes, think this is IB paying lip service to trying to get games played.

Stockport County.
Burchnall squirting lemon juice on to LFT tests in order to avoid facing Wrexham. It's not three points for Wrexham but it is a mental win for the Red Dragons and that in many ways, is far more important.

So for their goal Kerr sees Gunning get pushed (slightly) by Waters, then hears a whistle sound, thinks it's the ref blowing for the push on Gunning and stops playing.

What a shite way to concede a goal. Nice finish though.

Not been on for a few days but echo pretty much what has been said both everyone on our game. Was a good match, two decent sides, who each had a half each being the better side. Awesome to see a decent crowd in, over 8k at this level is madness and if we had been a bit more prepared we could have had more home fans in no doubt, I know 3 mates who sat in the away end in the end due to being caught out by the demand.

I think Halifax are probably the best side that's come here so far, slightly better than Bromley and Alty. Worried about how much we have dropped at home now, I think we've had 5 draws so we need to cut that out or I kind of agree that Stockport/Wrexham will hunt us down very quickly. Kings Lynn at home NYD is simply a must win before our weekend off league action for the Chelsea game.

Big run in in Jan for us we play Sat/Tue, Sat Tue after Chelsea I think - with 3 of the 4 games being away (two of which are Tue nights) so will be a real test for our thinning squad.

Gunning needs to get back in the gym, I genuinely think he was a stone overweight it was ridiculous we played him over Grimes. I'd have Croll in that side too when he is fit as well. Same with Weston, he looked so far off it - we need Khan and Oyeleke in that side to get our foot on the ball more

What were the empty spaces in the home stands? All blocks looked to have people in them but some near the away end were only partially occupied, with more spaces than people- why let some in, but leave it partially empty if there is such demand?

How do you know he heard a whistle sound, has he said so? Besides, the play had already moved on and he was tracking Waters when he decided stop playing. What did he think the ref was whistling for? Nobody else appeared to have reacted to this phantom "whistle". His mistake, nobody elses.

If you turn the volume up you can hear a shrill noise which sounds like a whistle and immediately after, Kerr stops moving and anticipates that the game is stopping for an infringement, check his body language. Nobody else seems to stop though, and it's not like your lot did anything wrong, just a weird thing to happen to lead to the concession of a goal.

Chessie Goal should be disallowed for not celebrating properly, I mean they grabbed the ball and ran back to the halfway line. FA regulations state you must all find the nearest corner flag and huddle round that and pretend your celebrating.
More dark arts coming out of the Spire.

It's a bit weird. I heard nothing in the ground but we all said WTF was he doing just stopping?! You can hear something on the highlights though so maybe should have cut him some slack

That was the Dog whistle James Rowe uses to control the players. Usually it's inaudible but it must have been picked up by the recording equipment.

Bromley would be so disappointed in us.

What's the keeper doing on the first goal. Doing a full Pickford style camera dive like it's going in the top corner yet the ball bounces before it even hits the net......in the bottom corner.

I enjoyed the guy heading it straight up in the air twice in a row like a performing seal.

I think of the 2 sides on the day, most of the quality on the pitch was in our side. :ds:

Not saying you didn't play your part but other than the goal (which itself was a defensive fuck up), i can't remember you seriously testing Loach.

That's not what I'm talking about, but since you mention it, how many saves did our keeper have to make, most of your threats were blocked by the defenders.

Think you're being a tad biased there. You were solid but didn't create much and scored from our fuck up. 'Most of the quality' is an overstatement.

Not many more to be honest, like i've already said in this thread, you defended well.

All in all, it was a pretty even game, neither of us displaying "most of the quality".

Come on now, let’s not get carried away here and pretend most of the quality on display came from Halifax. We’ve given you credit for your resolute display and definitely one of the strongest sides we’ve had at our place this year.. but the reality is you shaded a tight first half and we absolutely dominated the whole 2nd half.

The refs style (or lack of) didn’t help us either in the second half with the constant blowing of that fucking whistle disrupting the flow of the game which went against us considering we were dominating at that point… prevented us getting into any sort of real rhythm! Why can’t they just do their job low key, let the game flow, blow when it’s an actual foul and stop trying to be the star of the show. That’s the problem with officials down here, huge ego’s.. they can’t help themselves! I also think Wild’s reaction right at the end of the game as shown on the highlights summed up how the game had gone in that second half, celebrated like you’d rocked up and won 3-0 sealing the title… he knew you’d done well to get out with a point after that 2nd half !! As I said though, credit where it’s due, you’re a good side and will go well this year

??? Dont know who you're looking at on those highlights but it's definitely not Pete Wild, who walks over and shakes hands with your staff, as he does at the end of every game. Besides none of you have understood what I said (I'm not going to elaborate as it will only prolong this now tiresome discourse) and what I'm getting from your comment is that I'm supposed to be happy that you've all graciously allowed that my little team ain't bad. Well hello! I've KNOW how good my team is, I've been telling you all season. :ds:

You said "I think of the 2 sides on the day, most of the quality on the pitch was in our side". That's what we have responded to. You're not being cryptic or providing Da Vinci Code levels of commentary here fella.

Watch the highlights again, 7:26… tell me that’s not Pete Wild turning to your bench and giving it the big double handed fist pump thrust!?

At least a stone. He looked like the kit man fitting in at centre half.

Good to see you're full of opinions and thoughts on the match now that the highlights are out.
