Standard performance. Daggers have quite a dodgy defence and if we had a more capable striker we would have capitalised on their errors.
Daggers fans - What's the problem with your board?
We do seem to be a score 4 goals because we may concede 3 type of team.

As for the board, we are currently subject to a takeover. Most of the fans are against it as it very rarely ends well. Our MD is pro-investment and isn't the most popular fella at the moment. I'm not that close to it though TBH. Getting fed up with reading about it.

[QUOTE="EnglishRed, post: 488134, member: 2077" If we were charging 20 quid to lean on a barrier around a football pitch and go to the toilet in a portaloo I'd see the point. [/QUOTE]
That's pretty much what we had to do at York, but that cost us £18 and then an extra quid to have the 'luxury' of being allowed to sit down under cover and their toilets are the worst I've ever seen. They don't look like they've been cleaned for 20 years..
And if you Wrexham fans are happy to pay £20 to watch a pretty crap standard of football then fair enough.

Just got back, sickener Brian. Unlike Chris I thought it looked a pen, Noble was it sticking his leg out. I was up the far end though. As I was for the Bennett incident I've been told could well have been a red.
Fair play to Dover, some cracking goals, frustrated that as well as the woodwork we were either shot-shy at times or it was the tamest.of efforts in a good.position. Odd to see.Clough.cantering the length of the.pitch a couple of times as well.
Said.to some.Dover fans as.we left hopefully that'll help bring back some of their.home support, definitely entertainment value.

May as well pack our bags and sod off back to the Conference South
Looks like we will be joining you. Jamie Day has an almost impossible job to keep us up with the squad we have.

If that's the case then you may as well just offer us Akinola now rather than us make the effort to bid.

Cheers.

Not our best performance today, Chester came to do a job on us today to stop us playing from the back and did it very well. They were by far the better side in the first half as we couldn't seem to find a plan B to get around their 5 man midfield and it wouldn't have been a travesty if they had gone into the break ahead.

Second half we started much better and dominated from the hour mark, when Chester had clearly settled for the draw and the timewasting started. From then on it was all us but we failed to create anything clear cut. A fair result in the end, on to Borehamwood.

We were so disappointing today, especially after last week. First half felt a throwback to last season, we couldn't string 2 passes together and Chester deserved to go in at HT 2-0 up.
Completely different game second half, our wingers had their full backs on toast and if we had a decent striker (Rendell played far too deep) we would have won that game.
Chester were alright, but looked happy to go home with a point after an hour and offered nothing going forward second half.
Still been a fantastic start for us, but with good results comes higher expectations and unfortunately we didn't live up to that today

Thought Noble got the ball, was the far end as well though. Bennett was a yellow imo, hard honest tackle just slightly mistimed. Seen much worse, it's a contact sport and you've got to allow tackles.

Just been on the Dover forum and Miller's tweeted a picture of his leg with a gash that he got through his shin pad so I think it must have been a bad one.
We didn't have the sort of spells of control we'd had at Chester etc for me,and it was as much down to us being half a yard off it as Dover stepping up (though they did). Their third was well taken but looked like a mix-up between Sam and Cloughie I think it was to leave Sam out of his ground.

From a neutral point of view on the Dover/FGR game. Dover look a different side than the one we battered 2-1 a couple of weeks ago, so much better when the best striker in the league is actually on the pitch. FGR look brilliant going forward and horrific at the back. Can't wait until we play them in a couple of weeks, I'm predicting 7-7.

Danny Cowley is far too good to be slumming it in non-league.

No we aren't. It's very expensive and at the moment the football is dire. But we are a fan owned club with a large stadium in dire need of maintenance on top of the general upkeep. Overheads demand that we charge a high admission fee.

My point is that regardless of the fact we play in the same league you can't expect the teams with big stadiums to charge the same as the teams with small stadiums or those for whom money is no object.

Alfreton of course bucked the trend and charged top whack to see Conference football at a small stadium. But they are a special case.

Today was not a great performance, but if someone had offered me 13 points from 15 at home and 6th in the league after 9 games before the season I would have taken it without hesitation. 0-0 was probably a fair result, they hit the bar first half and we should have scored after 2 minutes of the 2nd half but other than that both defences were on top.

It's hardly a gash to be fair.

Rubbish would be a compliment. We were abhorrent and rightly booed off in my opinion.

Jesus.. We must have been shite. Fearing a midweek tonking at Macc

I'm hoping that when Phil Brown leaves in the not too distant future that Cowley is the number 1 option for Southend and the club do everything in their power to employ him.

I don't think we do tonkings; if we manage to find ourselves being prolific enough to build a comfortable lead we then decide to sit back and "conserve energy"

Top day out in Solihull result might have something to do with it. Level above and only two deflected goals gave Moors a crumb of respectability.

We had a midfielder at left back and left back at right back, a player at centre back playing his first game in that position at this level. Despite all this it was a level above.

would take our current position come next May but can't see it though. Going up as champions (just kidding).

Good luck to Solihull made us more than welcome.

As for our boardroom nonsense it will rumble on for a while yet.

Don't know why you're pissing yourself pal, I was right it was a TOTAL FOOTBALL MASTERCLASS. Easily the best National League game on tv in ages.

Granted we can't defend, but still...

Depressing. Lincoln thoroughly deserved their win over the ninety minutes and while they didn't impress as much as Braintree last season, have good depth in the squad- a couple of the subs looked as capable as those they replaced and more financial clout. If the Cowleys stick around, a good shout to go up.

Rovers lost the game in midfield, our forwards were starved of any service. Brabin has made some ill-judged remarks about Norwood post-match and his lack of tactical acumen means that his time is running out.

We certainly were not shite at the back. Back five were okay. More than okay in the case of Tilt and Jalal. It's in front of that where we are gash.
Can't see a tonking. But Macclesfield are currently table sandwiched between the two sides who have comfortably beaten us this season, so it's right to expect a loss.
