Well, someone had to start it off!

We've been given a pathetically low 1204 tickets for the game - get a proper ground FFS!

I'd say we are substantially better than expected and our opponents have been a tad disapppointing thus far. Probably means fuck all in the scheme of things surrounding a derby.

Anyway, it's about time we at least scored at the triangle let alone win. But I honestly feel very confident about this one.

Let the abuse begin!

First time I've ever done Oxford away.

We've not played each other at this level since I became a regular at Town (2004) so looking forward to it.

Think we have the minerals required to come home with the points but its all on the day. Fire in the belly ice in the head and all that.

1-3 Town with a red card for one of them.

Looking forward to this. I hope our team will respond to the atmosphere and, with a week training together, start performing to their potential and kick off our season; backing it up at mk the following Saturday.

The club were hoping to have a temporary stand in place for this but i suspect our landlord has blocked this as he would rather have a permanent fourth stand built as a result of a deal on developing houses on land nearby.

My understanding was your tickets took a while to sell out and you took a pitiful number of fans to your last away game?

Five wins in a row versus or local rivals is a good run and I fear this game is just a couple of games early for our new signings to have gelled.

Tickets never got to go on General Sale so they were sold in a structured timescale according to some bollicky points format.

Not surprised at the low turn out for Posh. 1215 KO and live on Sky - but who cares.

Uncle Firoz still fucking you over, then. Shame that.

Your allocation is 10% and that is the minimum league requirement, so that's all we're giving you. Personally I'm glad that our owners have taken this approach, as it will be a sell out to home fans, so why give you lot any more than we need to and deny tickets to home fans?

It is a little early in the season I fear, as we really haven't gelled yet and have been ravaged by injuries at the back. But that said, your arses always go at our place, so I'm expecting another home win. Six in a row and normal service resumed.

I think that is mostly a construct of your own poorly formed expectations. What on Earth did you expect from a team losing six of its old starting 11 during the first month of a season?!

Even if you look at us in context of the other promoted teams, we are pretty much bang where you'd expect.

As for the game.. you still have Vigoroux in goal, and nothing I read about him suggests he has matured since embarrassing himself last year.

Most teams have substantially revamped their squads - we have 5 or 6 new players in the first team. This gelling, or lack thereof, is bollocks. The simple truth of the matter is that when clubs replace players with lesser quality than those departing they aren't as good.

Even if that were true, my point would apply exactly as much. If we replaced our players with worse players, what the fuck did you expect from our first six games?

I wasn't expecting anything - I was referring to a sizeable section of your excitable fans predicting a walkover this season.

Don't get me wrong, you'll do OK this season. Lots of people, me included, thought you could sneak the POs and may yet do so. Just that by all accounts, you are average at best so far.

Looks like Obika will be back for Saturday - either from the off for 60 mins or a 2nd half sub.

Kasim has some 'injury' that stopped him playing for Iraq yesterday. More likely he's fallen out with them again.

Yes. Love Super Jon. Feel we'd be more of an attacking force with him holding the ball up and Norris/Delfouneso running off him.

That said wouldn't be surprised if we go with one upfront and Goddard playing off again.

In fairness there was a story in the Oxford Mail before the first game that said something along the lines of Oxford promotion candidates whilst Swindon were likely to be in a relegation battle.

To be fair, it was before we signed a few players, however the expectation seemed to be that Oxford would be challenging for promotion.

As for Saturday, please god we manage to score this time. And whilst I care little about the JPT games, the pain of losing both league games the last time we were in the same division was somewhat softened by the fact we won the league, that's not likely to be the case this time so we better win at least one of the games this season

Wouldn't take a draw, but at the same time I really don't want to taste defeat at the hands of these vile filth merchants for the first time (did anyone know we had beaten then 5 times in a row? Don't see it mentioned much) so would be content enough to snatch a 93rd minute equaliser

Not that long ago then.

Looking forward to playing your shower of shite this weekend.

God it must be painful for you lot. You used to do quite well against the mighty Oxford, but that was when you had players like Paul Bodin, Steve White, Craig Maskell, John Moncur. So yes its been a while since them days.

Anyway as for the result, it will be won by the odd goal. or a score draw.

Perhaps if you hadn't dropped out of the football league for so long we would have played you a bit more regularly in those intervening years.

Finishing above one another means next to nothing most seasons (last time was an obvious exception)

5 wins in a row though...

Two JPT wins (you didn't win either tournament) an FA Cup win (you didn't win it) and fair play, two league wins, but then...

Your wins might have taken the gloss off a touch but nobody that day was saying "I'm so upset we didn't beat Oxford this season".

Blue Square Premier though...

Perhaps if you joined us in the top flight, instead of stagnating in the 3rd tier, we could of had some more games against each other back in the day.

So, you would rather beat us twice than get promoted?. We went donkey's years unbeaten against you at the CG so I can understand you hanging on to your recent successes.

Even when you did the double over us we pissed the league. Know what I'd prefer.

The third tier you've been trying for a decade to get into you mean?

If your club had been mismanaged, and had a chairman like Ka$$am you'd have had the same issue.

On a level playing field, in recent years, there's no contest. We rightfully have the bragging rights. Admit it Dan you'd love to be in our position in regards to recent head to heads.

Can't argue with that, tbh. His spectre is still fucking you over with the ground ownership, though.

Head to heads, yes - of course. But winning L2, L1 play off final, JPT final - nah, no way. I wouldn't change a thing.
