Thought he did quite well with us up to a point but in the last four months or so he completely lost the plot. Does surprise me slightly he’s gone there as it got to a point with us that after any defeat the budget was mentioned so he’ll have even more work on at Southport.

I thought Southport had assembled a squad capable of keeping them up and surprised about their struggle. Still expect them to stay up and Watson has a history of unearthing a few decent players at this level. Burr enough experience to turn it round.

We were 3rd when we sacked him. The only thing that went sour was our dodgy ex-chairman's view of him. We'd hit a small slump in form, but it was still a baffling decision to get rid at the time. Didn't work out at Chester for whatever reason but I can't believe he's suddenly become a bad manager.

Weren't there serious financial issues which had built up over his reign?

I'm not saying it was his fault, if he was only spending the budget he was given then it's the fault of the board. He did well there, but he was always considered to be doing well because of the modest budget. Turns out the budget wasn't as modest as it was purported to be, as a result his stock dropped significantly in my mind. Still a better manager than some at this level, and an interesting appointment for Southport.

The board were setting the budget higher towards the end, but of the team that almost won us promotion, aside from Gowling and Gash, the majority of that team came from lower down the pyramid, mostly from Redditch and Romulus. Of our larger sell-ons during the Burr era, Jamille Matt came from Sutton Coldfield, Chey Dunkley came from Hednesford, Marvin Johnson and Nathan Blissett came from Romulus and Joe Lolley cane from Littleton - he was exceptional at identifying talent in the lower leagues at local teams.

It's an impressive raft of players he helped propel to bigger things at Kidderminster. It'll certainly be an interesting combination with Watson having a good track record with developing young talent and selling them on - Craig Noone, Carl Baker, Mark Duffy, John-Paul Kissock, Andy Parry, Karl Ledsham, Zac Aley, and Shaun Whalley all moved on to full-time football with bigger clubs than ourselves under Watson's stewardship. I believe he also had a lad at Stalybridge who they recently sold to Oldham for a decent fee too. This could be a far better philosophy for the club than the 3 managers a season approach!

When they first sacked Bowser the rumours were Burr or Harvey. Now these two are employed I have no clue. If Locky gets a win this week I'd expect him to be given the job.
Harvey would have been ideal. Cant imagine there been a big pool of conference standard managers locally

Brabin hanging on by a thread. Rumours from trusted sources he's a gonner and it's a matter of when not if.

Surely Gary Mills must be on borrowed time also?

The board limply bowed to fan pressure when they sacked Wilkin so I'm expecting they'll do the same with Mills should things not improve. He's certainly a man under pressure. Might cost a bit more to sack than Wilkin though. Some on our forum claiming that he'll be gone if we lose to Chester on Saturday. Not saying they should do it, but the case for getting rid of Mills is stronger than with Wilkin.

From the outside looking in, this seems strange, I mean being 5th in the league after 11 games, is a decent start. Is there something off the pitch happened as well or? like I say, I didn't really follow the league really at all last season.

Think its more a case of Brabin losing the support of the fans.
