Surprised if McKirdy doesn't get disciplined either. Subbed off but came tearing on after the final whistle jabbing his finger at the ref.

Dunno what they were so wound up about - both pens were obvious even from the other end of the pitch, and should've had a clear one in the first half too.

Best performance of the season for me, given that Swindon were a good side and tried to play football.
Scratch that. Garner says they were the better team and penalties shouldn't have been given (silly twat).

As if anything could make me more pissed off with football at the moment, Latics go and do that in a game that we’re all boycotting. Great point like but ffs.

Mckirdy is a pain in the arse. Never shuts up. Going through a blip at the moment, it'll happen, not panicking like some of our more vocal, moronic fans that light the airwaves after a defeat, generally on twitter.

it was quite a good game today despite the weather. Swindon knocked it around well, but had very little up front. I'm not sure what the number 9 brings to the Swindon team - it sure as hell isn't pace....
The main difference between the 2 teams was Robbie Gotts our number 15 - he absolutely terrorised Swindon when he ran direct at their defence with pace. I said in the 1st half that they're scared of him (after he was brought down in the box, but the ref bottled it) and he made the difference 2nd half.
The red card after the final whistle was really stupid.
The Swindon fans in the ground were great;- noisy, passionate and travelled in numbers - but some of them threw their dummies out outside after the final whistle.

I abhor some of our fans. Amazes me they can dress themselves most days.

To be honest, you still looked better than half the teams that have come here and left with three points. We played the conditions, but Swindon didn't really seem to get to grips properly.

That was an obvious win for Newport really who are in good form and strong at home.

We are having an horrendous time with injuries. With only Politic as a forward in the entire squad and he's not a striker. I've never known anything like it. We had to play a midfielder as a number 9 and Worrall and Rodney out today. With a full squad I'm convinced we're good enough for automatic promotion but we are so short that it's virtually impossible.

We need to just stay in touch and try and scab a few points until January.

Typical when we have our best squad in years that we have this horrendous situation.

But according to the local Swindon paper you could have had 2 earlier in the game .

The paper's assessment is much more accurate than the manager's- perhaps he thinks if he says they played well, some gullible fools will believe him. The second penalty shout was a bit far-fetched, just a nudge as the ball came over, but the first seemed obvious - and should've been a yellow if the ref thought he dived.

that 1st one on Gotts was a stonewall penalty - dunno how the ref didn't give it.

Tbh managers all have a bit of an Arsene Wenger to them now !

Only see what they want to see.

And they never get challenged in interview either - guess the press don’t want to be banned .

Poor today. First half, we weren’t at the races at all and we were deservedly behind at the break.

Second half we were on the front foot but we couldn’t break down Tranmere’s defence. They hit us on the break a few times and Dawson made some good saves to keep us in it.

I think our first meaningful shot on target was in the final 5 minutes when Jay forced their keeper into a good save. Just not good enough and now we’ve gone from a team that couldn’t lose, to a team who look a shadow of our early season form.

You can see why Tranmere don’t concede many but, to be honest, with Jevani Brown as a lone striker was never going to work. Why Amond was dropped I don’t know and we’ve missed Nombe and Dieng something chronic. And now both Hartridge and Sweeney have gotten knee injuries. Amazing how things can go to shit so quickly!

Ah well, a nice easy trip to Port Vale next week!

6 pts but we've deserved probably two. The two goals we got against Salford today were very soft. They were otherwise the better team.

Agreed, though it was nice to see our goals come from their play acting, thought they way they played was poor given the players they’ve got, always trying to con the ref - time wasting after 15 minutes, really?

It’s nice for us to get some luck

I thought Exeter were lucky only to lose by a single goal today. We hit the woodwork twice and forced several good saves from their keeper, whereas they did not seriously threaten until the final ten minutes.

It is a pity we can't be more ruthless in front of goal, but that said the two young strikers up front, with barely any professional experience between them, deserve a lot of credit for their performances today. They constantly chased and harried and did not give Exeter a moment's rest.

For all of our ups and downs this season, we find ourselves three points off the automatic places with a game in hand. A good position going in to the festive period.

Salford generally are pretty awful, and they have been for a good 12 months or more. I'm surprised they're as high in the table as they are. Seem to just keep shit housing points here and there but really just offer nothing.

I thought the first half an hour they were bullying and outnumbering us. We had no grip of the game in midfield. It was a bit rubbish from their point of view to not get a second goal and to then concede two soft ones. We didn't really offer anything to score our goals.

We did have the best spell of the game just after half-time. We were getting in down the sides and flashing it across the face of goal. We looked very good. Something must have been said at half-time.

The last half an hour we couldn't pass it to a yellow shirt. It seems we are always clinging on rather than continuing to attack and finish the game.

On the balance of us chasing the ball for so long and being unable to pass it to a teammate, I think a draw would have been fair. Agreed on Salford offering little insofar as clear cut chances go.

Garner needs to change things. He won’t. He can’t. He knows one way and one way only. Even if that way produces shite like yesterday and pretty much every home game this season.

I’ve never been an admirer of our ‘style’ this season - essentially, it’s pedestrian, boring to watch and stifles passion from the fans.

I’m off the fence. He can fuck off.

Just watched our highlights back. Nial Canavan is an absolute idiot for messing around with the ball - only himself to blame for the sending off and pen. Second Sutton goal illustrates why neither ROD or Hornby are good enough goalkeepers; They're always flapping at everything.

Lee Angol is a better goalkeeper. An incident yesterday where the ball looks like it goes over the line and at the time I thought it did because the Sutton players protested pretty furiously, but it turns out Angol slapped it out. I really don't want to see cheating at this football club. Absolutely disgraceful.

Theo Robinson actually had his best game for us. Ran his socks off and managed to score a header. I've not seen him head anything before!

Not a fan of lining up negatively though against an injury ravaged team. Adams' tactics and usage of substitutions is baffling at times. He also doesn't seem to rate Callum Cooke and it wouldn't surprise me if he moved him on in Janurary. Certainly won't be around when his contract expires in June.

Is Cooke one of the trouble causers at the club that Adams alluded to in his bizarre post match interview perhaps? He was allegedly involved in a fight with Danny Rowe in training last season.

Either way I think Cooke will be on his way in January.

I think the fact in our last two games we have been short on bodies, and looked very tired but still got 6 points is a very good sign.

I’m enjoying it at minute, I do think our form is being helped by a poor standard of opposition although maybe I’ll be proved wrong next Saturday, definitely need some extra quality in January for me, with one or two going the other way, because this league is there to be taken advantage of this season.

I'm not sure. I stand and watch them all going through their training and routines before kick off and they actually seem a tight knit group. Always laughing and joking, Cooke included. Suppose you don't know what goes on outside of actual match days though.

Yeah I think he'll be gone too. I find it strange how Adams is always on about stats and such and Cooke is one of the best creators of chances in the league and doesn't rate him. If he does go I reckon and hope he does well.

Molloy yes. Foran was actually a very decent striker at that level at that time. Just enjoyed his nights on Botch a bit too much.
Roddy needs to get a managers job somewhere again for the comedy value.

If his team gets to the Final of a County Cup somewhere he can fly them over to Dublin and buy them Louis Copeland suits for the occasion.
