Interesting. I hadn’t seen it clearly at the game and it looked like a coming together when both players going for the ball, as they were entitled to do, with McGee winning the header. However the way that he had his knee out when jumping for the ball, which made contact with Wilson effectively taking him out of the game, would have meant he’d be in difficulty had the officials seen it.

Disagree with the comparisons with the Schumacher-Battiston incident however. In that Battiston was in possession and Schumacher took him out, here McGee was making a legitimate effort to win the ball, but endangered an opponent due to the way he jumped.

That’s not right, incident happened around the 30 minute mark score at 1-1.

Almost the exact same happened in the AC Milan game last night. Officials didn't see it in real time but VAR sent Maignan the Milan keeper off for "serious foul play" after jumping for the ball but taking out the Genoa attacker with his knee.

Some nice Wrexham - Crewe BEEF cooking up lovely here in time for Sunday dinner.

Still never seen us win at Tranmere (actually I could say that about quite a few grounds), but yesterday was very close. Loads of effort but again looking for a bit of luck and extra class. Thought the ref had a poor game, but he didn't change the result, just poor and easily conned by some, sadly not by Danny Rose who annoys me by throwing himself to the ground far too often.
What is a win...last time I saw one of those it was Wednesday...not a day last week, but Sheffield last blooming season!

Keepers are encouraged and trained to go up for the ball with the knee up like that. They do it all the time. I've seen a forward challenge a keeper with both have their knees up and the forward is carded for it.

Couldn't make our game yesterday but I've been told it was a bore fest with Wrexham sitting deep and us playing side to side.

Fair play to Wrexham, great away performance, nick a goal and stop the other team causing you any problems...if what I was told is true.

Hilarious that Crewe claim to have been reffed by one of the only Salford die-hards in existence.

It's a pair of shocking decisions he's culpable for but I think our fans are genuinely clutching at straws with that. I believe the ref is a fan of the scum at Old Trafford. Most are unaware what a Salford City actually is and so what if he's been to a Salford game? I'm sure most refs have been to watch games at clubs they've refereed before...

I don’t think any team can have had a worse refereeing experience than we had at Salford in our relegation season, Declan Bourne his name he might’ve well have had a Salford shirt on.

It's been dormant for 25 years, as much as I'd have been happy to see Wrexham slide in to non-league insignificance, it's quite nice to have it back for a bit while they overtake us.

How did he get away with it for so long? By far the worst ever, and fans of every club complained about him after just about every game.

Apologies to Posh Harry, you’re right. There were a couple of incidents where McGee came off his line to head. I’d wrongly thought it was later on because that was when Wilson got subbed.
Yeah he played on for a good 10/15mins after that clash. I don't think it was malicious from McGee at all, both players were just fully focused on the ball. Trouble for Wilson was that that meant he was looking away for a split second too long. Could have been a lot worse for either or both of them. Hopefully nothing serious for Wilson, that was his first start of the season after only just getting back from injury.

Odd bunch the Crewe lot. It's what happens when you basically live in a railway siding.

Back in the 90s I do remember it being one of the tastier ties. It's a bit like when we play Tranmere - hasn't the hatred that goes with Chester or that Farming lot from Shropshire but close enough for some ill feeling.

Our Trevor was never biased. Just check out the number of fans who shudder when they hear his name.

No, you never knew which side was going to be Trevored.

Casey.
True. We benefitted from one of his bizarre decisions. It made the news and is on YouTube

The match finished 0-0. If the goal had stood Accy might have gone up automatically and we'd have played Bristol Rovers in the playoff semi final instead. No way would we have got past them but we did against Accy then beat Plymouth in the final. What a day that was.

Likewise never seen us get anything at your place. A 1-1 draw on a Friday night where Nathan Blissett somehow managed to score for us being the highlight.

He does like a header McGee, he goes for at least one or two a game. For that one however he was barely in the right postcode...

The even bigger highlight from that night was the one and only Wagner from X-Factor singing on the pitch.

Oh god, I'd forgotten that! There's always something faintly shambolic about a trip to Blundell Park, be it Wagner being unable to pronounce the word "fish" like a human being, or last year's game where Mighty Mariner fell flat on his face in front of the away end. Possibly why I'm weirdly fond of the place...

Two clubs with recent histories that aren't far off mirroring each other that share a bit of gallows humour about their respective plights. There's probably the merest hint of a bit of begrudged respect while similarly admitting neither fixtures are particularly appealing due to having to trek across the entire North. The kind of tie that were it drawn in the cup both teams would groan and have a laugh about as it's equally crap for both clubs. It's a fixture that needs Wagner and Mighty Mariner making tits of themselves.

What is a win...last time I saw one of those it was Wednesday...not a day last week, but Sheffield last blooming season!

We’ve won 3 times in 2023, I missed the Wednesday game due to work, and didn’t go to Harrogate.

So Sutton is the only time I’ve seen us win since early December. And I’ve been to the vast majority. 1 win in 10 months. Oh well, there’s always next week...

Jesus Christ, that's bleak. We played some horrible football in the first half of last season but I can see why they did it - stopping the rot after our 2021/22 season was crucial.

Yep, definitely could have done with that sort of approach. Grind out results and focus on stabilising the club. Right now we play some lovely football. Lovely for the opposition that is.

Horseman must be one of the only managers in our history that’s managed to lose his first 6 home league games in charge, (plus losing at home to Pompey in the League Cup). If we lose yet again against Colchester I reckon that will be curtains for him. Rumours he’s lost the dressing room.

I can't remember ever seeing us lose eight games in a row in the league, even when we were really rubbish and trying to stay in the Conference...or come to think of it any other time, like last season when we were out of our depth and even our first season in the Football League when we just stayed up. Dale has ditched JSO but I really worry that the attention the club will get if he persists in flying the Palestinian flag will do more to undermine everything that is going on that people will just stop attending games altogether, the sad thing is that I truly believe he will regard that as some form of success...the bloke is a deluded self-obsessed twat.
