Seen Kevin Wilkin linked with the Telford job, would be a very good appointment for them.

Decent start for us. We look solid, hard to beat and all that but we do look like we lack a bit of a spark going forward and a consistent stream of attacking threat. Baggie coming back from injury may help as he looked our best attacking threat in pre season. Young also said today he's looking to bring in another attacker now that Holsgrove has been loaned out. Ruthless from Young really, seems like he's always willing to freshen it up. Our results have been good but we need to score more goals or each match will be a long hard slog. The positive is I think Young knows this.
Yeah we miss the spark and counter attacking threat that Baggie provides big time, hopefully this new signing will mean we are not as one dimensional when Baggie is out. We're very solid though, won't be conceding very many goals this season.

Was Kittrick the gaffer who took over last December, when they approached Bignot :fl:

Alfreton 2 (Jones 15 Leesley 74) 2 Curzon (Warburton 25, Brooke 37)

We quickly need to discover a ruthless streak. Played curzon off the park on Saturday from all accounts against a side who never looked like scoring all day but two defensive fuck ups allowed them a point, The lads are beginning to show promise but look extremely raw and need an experienced head in Midfield and lat the back to help bring the composure on the ball we are lacking.

Cliff Moyo is shocking too. Evo Stik Division One at best.

Hednesford give managers to Telford? How this can affect on them?
Also Alfreton I think is capable for surprise of the round :2thumb:

Solihull Moors 2 )Kinighs 46,Nottingham,58) Alfreton 1 (Jackson 45)

Another rerun of pevious games. Great first half were we failed to take chances and should have been further clear. Only to tire in the second half concede two god awful goals. Both via unfortunate deflections but we made our own Luck.

We need to learn quickly otherwise we will be heading to the Nothern League.

Things need to change at the club. Nicky and Wayne need to go.

Chorley were shocking yesterday, although it was only 1-0. There was no outstanding team but our manager (Matt Jansen) needed to put a midfielder on, and for all 3 changes he put a striker on! Shocking! The ref gave us nothing again, we should have had a penalty after our player was clearly tripped!

Have Chorley lost key players or is this all because they lost their gaffer?

Couple of fringe players have gone out on dual-registration, its the shock of Flitcroft leaving and the fact that our new manager isn't new but he doesn't have a brain!

Seems to be the day of the shock as we actually won!

Alfreton 1 (Allan 81) Gainsborough Trinity 0

Our first win in 15 League Games!

It was poor game between two poor teams but I aint complaining a win is a win!

They were few chances in the game for either side. We were fortunate to not fall behind right on HT though as Trinity had a shot blocked on the line and then hit the post from the follow up.

But we dominated the second half without really carrying a threat. Leesley pulled an excellent save out of the keeper with 15 to go. and then after having a shot blocked on the line ourselves we finally broke the deadlock as Tom Allan headed home a Moyo throw to win it. He is our top scorer now too!

Cant fault the players second half they showed real grit and determination. One thing for sure you cant knock them for effort.

I am just praying this is the catalyst we needed to push on.

Well... Where to start after a, how should I put it, eventful game, including a penalty, 3 red cards, 3 injuries and a great game, the penalty was missed by Josh hine, who later redeemed himself by scoring the only goal of the game with his fifth of the season. The first and second were both ex Chorley players! The 3rd was stalybridge's assistant manager and all of the injuries were stalybridge's as well! Including a nasty looking knee injury to their midfielder who then got stretchered off. Both red cards were definite reds, first was a clear elbow and the second was a horrible two footed challenge. Apparently, the assistant manager got sent off for swearing at the ref not so sure though. All in all, it was a game that Chorley dominated and we moved up 6 places to 9th!

Was looking forward to my trip to your place but unfortunately I am in London this weekend!

Having picked up our first win in 15 games last time out and with Andi Thanoj epected to return I am confident at least a point. However if we defend with such desire and authority as we did against Gainsborough then their is no reason to say we cant win.

Saturday Reminded me of the days of Darrran Kempson and Michael Wlyde. If only we had a John Akinde up top!

Alfreton's start has been uncannily similar to ours, even your match report and the final paragraph shares my sentiments.

I was just thinking similar reading your match report from the Bishop Stortford game. We both have long serving managers under serious pressure too it seems!

I think Its more to do with teams raising their game against them when their huge crazy army turns up en masse.
God forbid what will happen if they ever end up in the same league as their massive rivals Chester, it will be carnage when 4000 Chorley fans turn up at the Deva and can't get in the ground.......

Out of curiosity, when we're Kiddy last at this level? Certainly my memory doesn't have you any lower than the Conference in the past 3 decades.

We were promoted to the then Alliance Premier League in 1983, prior to that we'd spent most of our time in the Southern League and the West Midland/Birmingham leagues.

Very similar to ourselves, but the northern premier league, obviously. I think it was 1986 when we joined the original Conference though.

Or Barrow reserves, as they're known... Only kidding. How are the likes of Guy, Carver and Sheridan getting on? There was a case for them all staying this season. And Bond as well, who we had back on trial but manager didn't feel the need to have a fifth centre mid. Some people reckon we missed a trick - I'm not so sure.

I see Bogle is scoring goals for you, how is his all round game?
Superb mostly, although against Macc and also Borehamwood he missed a few he would expect to score, but his all round game is excellent.
If he keeps injury free i would be staggered if he gets less than 25, and optimistically hoping for 30+ from him with a bit of luck. :)

Glad to hear it! I'm hoping we get you in one of the cups this season :bg:
