One thing I am sick of seeing...

Vale with constant games in hand.

Would of been back to 3 in hand had we not moved the MK Dons game last minute once we'd both had our games postponed this weekend due to Internationals.

They are both away (Rochdale a week tomorrow and Walsall the last Tuesday of the season)... so if we stay in touch teams could be sweating a bit that night! Positively for you all is the fact we are appalling away from home so will probably get a point at best. 8 games left, 5 away, 2 of the home ones are Sheff United and Bolton!

Guess you have to be looking at an absolute minimum of 3pts from your home game with Wimbledon at the weekend then?

For sure, we could of done with beating MK but we were dead on our feet and playing half a squad with injuries so the rare 7 day break (The last we will enjoy this season) has come at the best time for us.

Our hope with the away games are that Walsall are on the beach with nothing to play for and Fleetwood field a second string to avoid injuries and suspensions for the play offs! Could pressure tell on the Blades and Bolton? So many factors you just never know I guess!

Beating AFC at home and Chesterfield away a week later would be handy. If we hadn't of bottled Coventry last week then I'd have said win them and we are virtually safe but I guess most of the teams will get a shock result here and there as always so more twists to come for everyone I suppose.

Not enjoying the stress of it though!

I think they expect to see at least one outstanding team in comparison to others in the league. Not seen that since the likes of Bristol City, Wigan, Norwich, Southampton etc. You're doing a decent job of tearing up a poor league imo.

The last two seasons then and Wolves the year before that.

The only teams I can think of in recent years running away with the league are Wolves, Wigan, Bristol City and ourselves and even Leicester if you go a little further back. Norwich were good but weren't that far ahead of Leeds or even the next few below from memory. Southampton never even won the division. The league has always been pretty naff but do agree there have been much stronger ones than this season.

Whilst your away record is terrible, you have to be looking to beat Chesterfield who are already down. Having said that, I'd have said the same before your game with Coventry, but whether they're a different side under Robins now I am not sure.

I still cant believe how we are in the thick of it given how long we have been playing under Sheridan. We would be well below Coventry now had we kept hold of Robinson.

Your destined to stay in league one forever aren't you! You looked decent at Vale Park in November and although your late goal could be the difference come May it was the least you deserved on the night.

I don't know if our away form is mental or not, we've lost 5 at home this season and only 5 last (one of which was a dead rubber) yet we have barely won away in the past two seasons, although this is the worst by far with 1 solitary win at MK. We've played well in a few away games but conceded late goals, controversial penalties, keeper errors you name it! Just seems cursed. Coventry was dire, although they played well. I think it will be us, Shrews or Gills, though Swindon if they follow up their win on Saturday come also come into the mix for survival. Looking at Oldham's fixtures I was targeting you as the ones to hunt down but credit where its due your keeping the points tally ticking over and should survive.

Think we will lose to Southend, Bolton and Bristol Rovers tbh, but fancy us to be able to pick up minimum 7pts from Fleetwood, Rochdale and Wimbledon.

In answer to some of the earlier questions about how the hell we managed to lose to Swindon, I think we've probably run out of steam due to the cup run. Harris' side has always been about crap, but aggressive football but I don't think we are doing the hard miles at the moment, and the strikers have lost their touch.

Playing Saturday/Tuesday since December has bitten us hard as Harris hasn't really rotated the squad.

The other options available to us as so far behind the normal level of the first XI, they almost only get a look in when there are injuries. (Harry Smith, fresh this summer from Folkestone Invicta as backup to Steve Morison, for example).

This time of the season is all about momentum. Oldham Bury and Shrewsbury seem to have been pretty solid recently and I have an ominous feeling that Swindon are going to make a late dash for safety.

Only Vale and the Gills are in shocking form. Peterborough at home was our least difficult game on paper and they obliged by being awful but we were as bad and were beaten by a cracking goal, although our "defenders" invited it by backing off so far they nearly ended up behind the goal.

Someone mentioned on our message board that a team would have stayed up with only 46 points last season if their goal difference was better than Doncaster's. We have 45 now but our goal difference is going south so even if the same thing happens we would need 2 more points and I can not see where they are coming from.

We now have Brizzle Rovers, Millwall and Fleetwood at home as well as MK, Charlton and Northampton away. It's white flag time for us, I fear and despite the injuries we probably deserve it.

Our form isn't too bad of late, 2 wins, 2 draws in last 6.

As said our 2 games in hand are really defeats in hand, we will get nowt away anywhere.
It's between us,Gills and salop as to who will be worse.
Oldham and bury will be fine I think.

Probably need to win 5 out of 6. Or 4 wins and a draw.

Very much doubt we have that in us.

Can only see us picking up 1 point from our remaining 6 games and thats if we are lucky.

our only chance of taying up will be vale and shrews being shitter than us.

With pennock the pillock in charge we will take the last relegation place

Wigan!? How did they walk the league?

They scraped the title by a few points above Burton fucking Albion, and sealed the title with an outstanding 1-4 home defeat to Barnsley.

So much for 'we want to win this league with over 100 points' that their incredibly naive, young Chairman reckoned in the summer. Even we beat them at home. They were nothing out of the ordinary. Probably one of the worst clubs to win the title in this division for a while.

I could be wrong here, but did Saints not win the league because they started on -15 or was that the season before they went up?

Southampton got promoted with Lambert, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Shneiderlin and Fonte in their team. That has to be the most talented third tier side in my lifetime for sure.

Yeah touché. They would have finished in 2nd with 88 points.

Only deducted ten points. Would have finished sixth, ahead of Huddersfield.

You're right. Did have my doubts as a lot more would have been made of it. 15 points did ring a bell though.

That's us well and truly down. Another hammering on the road when we needed to win. No chance of getting anything in our next 3 games, two more humiliating derby defeats to come.

Goodbye League One, I'd say it's been fun but a 16th placed finish last season and a relegation this season says otherwise.

Yeah having played 2 games more than everyone else around is, with 3 very tough fixtures coming up.. I'll bet anyone on here £10 we won't pick up another point all season. Terrible side.
