Who do people want him to fight exactly? All top boxers fight bums at the start of their career. It's the most impressive win on paper to date as although he is past it now Johnson was still a guy who still took Fury and Vitali the distance, even though he was utterly pointless tonight. He was just in the ring walking around waiting for it to end, first time he's ever been stopped though.

Agreed. Johnson wasn't a bum, AJ just made him look like one.

I'd expect him to get a journeyman next, before maybe taking on someone like Tony Thompson later this year.

Use 2016 to get the British / European titles before moving on to world level in 2017. He's still young. There is no need whatsoever to rush him at this point.

Khan on Brook:

"I know if I got in there with him I would beat him.

"But why should I give him that opportunity? I'm going to be a c**t about it.

"He's dying for it now. It's not like I'm scared of him.

"I'm definitely not scared, it's just why should I give him the opportunity? I don't need him.

"Eddie Hearn talks about it making a lot of money, but I'm already making a lot of money.

"I made more money for my fight against Chris Algieri than Kell Brook has made in his last five fights. That's why he wants the fight.

"Before it used to annoy me, but now it just satisfies me because I know he needs me more than I need him."

c***. I hope Floyd fucks him off.

He's rate though in he, even if he comes across as a knob with it. Brook needs another big name or two before Khan will fight him, he's other fish to fry.

Why does he? Khan said a year or so ago he won't fight Brook until he fights a big name and/or wins a title. He covered both of those with the Shawn Porter fight, yet Khan continues to make excuses. Where else can Khan go if he doesn't get the Floyd fight? Another generic lightweight he'll outpoint comfortably?

Eddie Hearn undoubtedly needs to deliver bigger fights for Brook, but it's clear Khan will do anything to avoid him.

Thurman, Matthysse, Bradley, Rios etc are all bigger names in the US than Brook. Khan will only fight Brook if A) Brook makes a bigger name for himself by taking big fights and makes it impossible for Khan to ignore him, or B) Khan takes another big fight and loses. Staying at home to beat up Frankie Gavin? pff.

It's just a fight with too many negatives for Khan. If he fights Brook and loses, his career is over. If he wins, the US say 'so what?'. Brook needs to do more. He's only had 1 fight outside the UK hasn't he?

Really wish Kell would destroy Khan, whilst the Gavin fight and the Jo Jo Dan ones were easy on paper it's been a long way back for Kell since that stabbing and he needs the rounds.

Can't blame Khan for not wanting to fight Brook now. I'd be pretty certain that Brook would land a sweet shot on Khan's chin and even more certain what would happen to Khan immediately following it.

He wants the Mayweather fight so will look to duck any opponent that can derail that by him losing in the ring. Not sure what Mayweather gets from fighting Khan anyway.

£100m+ and his 'zero' intact?

A slight diversion, but... Interesting little piece with here Chris Farina, Top Rank's fight photographer talkin' 'bout doing what he do.

Huge Khan fan but he's making it increasingly difficult to defend him at the minute. I think he beats Brook on points but he does need bringing back down to earth a bit.

He is partly right as in Brook needs Khan more. But come on, what was Kell doing fighting Frankie Gavin at this stage in his career? What's the point in that. Bar the Porter fight his CV is bang average I'm afraid to say. He should have been in there with a warrior like Brandon Rios, where a victory would have made a real statement not only here but in the US.

Khan may be in there with non-punchers but they are still better than the calibre Brook has been going up against. Hearn needs to do more for Kell, i.e. bypass Khan for now, fight Rios or someone and let Khan do his ego thing in the US for a year or 2. Khan v Brook is a certainty to happen one day, even if it's not a title bout.

If Kell Brook where to beat Brandon Rios next, his claims that Khan is ducking him will hold more weight.

I don't actually believe that Khan is ducking him, but at the moment Khan is the bigger name and the bigger draw.

Just watched the Cotto/Geale fight. Cotto took him to school and a brilliant left hook in R4 sent Geale down, he got up but moments later he was down again and quit on the count. Cotto may have recaptured his best under Roach, and now a Canelo superfight should happen.

That's been clear for some time but to be fair Cotto is not really a geniune middleweight anyway. Canelo would want to fight GGG though, if Oscar lets him. He's been having catchweight fights recently, preparing for the move up.

Carl Frampton to make his US debut against Alejandro Gonzalez in July.

Slightly underwhelming opponent, but it's his first fight over there so I'll cut him some slack for now.

Is Al Haymon involved with any of the other big names in his division?

Leo Santa Cruz, but I'm not sure if he will continue to box at Super Bantam or move up to feather.

The channel Spike showed live boxing last night. Lara retained his light middle title with a snoozefest points over Delvin Rodriguez. He's calling Floyd out, 2 brilliant technicians but let's be honest that is not going to be a good fight to watch or grab the imagination.

Also Beterbiev with another clinical KO last night, the accuracy of his punches is brilliant and don't even get me started on how heavy his hands are. One of the fighters of the moment and destined for the top I think, he's looking like a GGG at light heavy. I can see him having similar problems though, everyone is going to be shit scared of him.

Nicholas Walters has been stripped of his world title for weighing in as heavy as a baby rhino. Not sure if he's killing himself to try and make weight but I can see him stepping up after tonight.

Awesome performance by Lee Haskins there, Iwasa took it flush and did well to get back to his feet. Good stoppage.

Struggling to put a can like Molina away and then actually gets buzzed by a shot off him. Povetkin will likely beat him and then if it's on the table AJ decapitates Wilder inside the first few rounds.

Also announced that middleweight legend Sergio Martinez has hung the gloves up.

There is little to suggest Joshua isn't similar to Wilder. In fact I've seen more from Wilder than Joshua thus far. Wilder used a very decent jab vs Stiverne, and Wilder can lead with big power shots, mainly a straight right hand. When have you seen Joshua do that, Joshua usually has to be pretty much on top of the other guy to hurt them, 9 times out of 10 his stoppages come from a combination of punches rather than a one punch ko. At present Kiltschko, Povetkin and Fury are head and shoulders above anything at heavyweight. Joshua does have potential but still has a lot to learn. Wilder won't keep his title long, Povetkin will destroy him.

Close one to call actually. Brook did well against Porter with his strength and size being more than a match for him. Broner couldn't keep a strong come forward mauler like Maidana off him and if the same happens and he can't keep what is a stronger man off him then I see Porter winning. I do sense there could be a controversial decision in this one.

Also Andre Ward is finally knocking the ring rust off this weekend against Paul Smith. Meh.

Porter struggles as it is to make 147, I'm surprised he made the 144 limit so comfortably. Hope he wins though.
