Can't argue with that, but why was Ward allowed to keep hold of his belts when he was inactive for so long?

It wasn't even the 'proper' belt anyway was it? I still think he'll fight again. Maybe against Hopkins in Vegas?

Felix Sturm and Chudinov are now suddenly going to be fighting for Froch's stripped WBA belt tonight. I expect a Froch retirement to be honest.

Canelo v James Kirkland too in a non title bout but expecting feisty stuff from Kirkland inevitably leading to a Canelo win via KO.

There's also a card from Birmingham tonight on SS2. Joshua fighting again.

Put 14 fights on my acca tonight. Just need Clottey to win for £115. Would have been £140 if the Buglioni fight happened.

Scott Quigg to defend his title against Kiko Martinez in July

Slightly more credible than some of his recent opponents, but still a Carl Frampton leftover.

Meanwhile in the same weight division, Kid Galahad has been given a two-year drugs ban.

Well at least he'll get some attention now.

I suppose we won't see how good he actually is for a while now. I actually fancied him to do Quigg over if they ever met.

Golovkin wants him now, he wants anyone. Big drama show! Monroe quit on his feet in the 6th round last night but his speed caused GGG a few problems but when he's throwing bombs around it really doesn't matter that much.

I think GGG beats Cotto but Canelo takes him deep and maybe all the way to decision. He gets hit a lot but he's got a good chin and 20 consecutive KO's speak for themselves.

GGG gets both Cotto and Canelo out of there for me. He hits so hard

The best and probably only chance to defeat him in the coming years is a prime Andre Ward at 168. Ward is naturally the bigger man and has the defensive skills and smartness to hold out and win an ugly decision. But he's been off the scene that long who knows if he is actually going to become properly active again or not. Failing that, go back in a time machine and get peak Hagler to dismantle GGG.

Yeah I think Ward would handle GGG pretty easily tbh.

Bullshit piece by a billy bull writer siggests GGG - Froch at Wembley - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/bo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

That'd be fun. It would be beautiful to watch the man who once knocked out George Groves at Wembley in front of 80,000 people get ruined, ironically, at Wembley in front of 80,000 people.

Don't you think Froch's size and resilience would be a problem at that weight for GGG? I'd like to see how GGG responds to being walked down by a heavy handed guy like Froch at 168. It would be a really interesting fight.

But it's not hard to imagine GGG digging in a nasty body shot and putting Froch on the canvas

Just can't see Froch coping against 3G's angles. Easy nights work for GGG, not that it's gonna happen.

Froch is a warrior but a crushing defeat would tarnish his legacy somewhat. Golovkin would take the fight and there'd be no problem with him coming over to the UK, a win would put pressure on a clash with Ward. A GGG win over Froch would put him as no.2 P4P in my book. Would be a huge statement from GGG to beat Froch in his first fight at the higher weight.

I thought Froch would retire but I don't completely rule this fight out as Cotto is running scared of GGG, Canelo would take him but the problem there is that De La Hoya doesn't want his main PPV guy getting banged out.

GGG does get hit and I can see clubbing rights from Froch taking their toll. Very interesting fight though

Where has this speculation come from all of a sudden? Eddie Hearn has spent the last year or so playing in down saying it doesn't do great PPV numbers in the States, so what's changed? Froch himself said Golovkin won't be able to do much damage at 168 - hardly the best way to sell a fight.

Froch fights better from the outside these days relying on a jab, this for me works massively in favour of GGG, gives him the space that GGG loves them with his footwork and shot selection he would light Froch up IMO. I'd prefer see GGG fight Lara, Canelo, Ward, Degale or even Eubank Jr all have tools to either beat him or at least make it very interesting.

DeGale v Dirrell coming on about 9:30pm. Very close to call, both well matched and skilled fighters.
