we're on the crest of a wave at the moment, and it's a good position to be in, but we could be peaking too early.

January will be pivotal to our hopes for the rest of the season, when we get to find out if we keep Aaron Pierre (sought-after CB) and Jamal Blackman (Chelsea loanee) - hell, with Scott Kashket knocking them in like no-one's business we could get offers for him too, even though he's only just signed a contract till 2019.
good run
I have low expectations still but even an outside shot of a tilt at the playoffs has to be seen as a successful season.
We have over £50,000 from The 500 club for signings in January so if Chelsea agree Blackman can stay until the end of the season the money is there, plus if we earn some money from a good run in The FA Cup financially we're looking in good shape. We have 22 players this season our biggest squad in years so if some players get injured we have cover and some money for loan players if needed.

How did Carver v mowgli start, out of interest?

It was a long while ago but I think I said to him something along the lines of "My dick is bigger than yours", so then it just went from there.

Well any who Greg, now that us Carlisle lot have the right to post in the promotion thread this year, you can lighten up a bit after each match. :)

He trolled supporters of other teams in League 2 on 1FF where he finally to everybody's elation he got a permanent ban, even his fellow Carlisle fans couldn't stand him which says a lot about him. I'm not a mod on there or he'd have gone a lot sooner. :smug:

What? No I didn't, where is your evidence to prove this? I have never been banned from any messageboards ever. I have no idea what you are talking about here and without anything to back it up with, it's just bollocks. So please, don't make things up mate.
You really are a c*** you know that.

That's not me, it's someone who just happens to have the same name and support the same club as me. Like Shoddy pointed out, that guy has recieved no likes at all so he must of been a pure force of trollness and it's no wonder he got banned. I'm not that stupid!

I have plenty of likes on here. :)

But on a positive note, we were promoted that year. :2thumb:

That last game of the season at Chesterfield was my first ever away game and it was insane, town fans climbing the floodlights with coppers waiting at the bottom to arrest them, Chesterfield fans spitting at us through the metal fence, we were already promoted so nobody cared about the result which was a good job as the players clearly couldn't be arsed that day either!

I know, so its a good thing there are 21 teams shitter than us this season.
That number will decrease rapidly if we continue to put in performances like today.

Some of our fans need to be careful what they wish for, work in a pub in Fratton and when we went 1-0 down all I heard was Cook out.. blah blah. He's gotta go etc. Unfortunately I finished at 4 so I didn't get to see their reactions when we went 2-0 down and then went onto win.

This game had all the makings off a tough physical slog and before the game I'd have seen us getting a point as a satisfactory result. We trained on sunday league pitches all week to get used to the conditions. Personally I think it's a disgrace how Newport are allowed to continue to play at RP. I know its easier said than done but the sooner they move to their own stadium or the rugby team moves out the better.

There's something about us this season that when we go a goal down we have belief to get back into the game. We will always create chances and if we can sort out the home form I can't see us not getting top 3 but at the moment it looks like playoffs.

I can't believe I'm seeing Laker Vanni and SVH engaging with Carver and Kenny on this thread and it's still 2016. I shall keep my powder dry for a while yet. Just as a reminder of how far we've come in the last 4 years, I'll offer my own photo of the Quag End to add to the memories of Satanage that we can now begin to put behind us.

Humour me mate. We've taken 31 points from the last 14 games. It's hard not to get excited. ;-)

That title winning form so we have every right to be getting a bit excited. Such a shame we had a poor start but I don't think too 3 is out of the question. January business is massive for all clubs concerned.

That comeback win at Newport could be massive for us. We need to do some January business (a solid goalkeeper would be a start) but equally important are the first two fixtures against Luton and Doncaster. We'll have a much better idea of what we can achieve after January.

Yeah we need to add some cover, and ship a fair few out. Bullishness rising though.

I said a few weeks ago that our results over the next few will sort out whether we fit in the wheat or chaff categories and I think yesterday told us the answer. Anything other than a convincing win against Barnet, which I have to say I'm not confident of, and we'll know for definite.

We just cannot consistently put performances together and cannot grind out wins against mid table opposition, especially at home. That's the bread and butter of an automatic promotion winning side and we do not do it and show no signs of being able to do so.

That and the top 3 are very consistent, i really dont think we are capable of catching them.
