Into The Storm (2014)
In one day the town of Silverton is hit by a series of massive tornadoes that merge into one. Wasn't a brilliant film but was still better than Twister was. I lost count of the amount of times somebody shouted out "Hold on"

Captain Fantastic:

Ben Cash (Viggo Mortensen), his wife Leslie and their six children live deep in the wilderness of Washington state. Isolated from society, Ben and Leslie devote their existence to raising their kids -- educating them to think critically, training them to be physically fit and athletic, guiding them in the wild without technology and demonstrating the beauty of co-existing with nature. When Leslie dies suddenly, Ben must take his sheltered offspring into the outside world for the first time.

Sublime. 8.5/10

Swiss army man:

Being stranded on a deserted island leaves young Hank (Paul Dano) bored, lonely and without hope. As a rope hangs around his neck, Hank prepares to end it all, until he suddenly spots a man (Daniel Radcliffe) laying by the shore. Unfortunately, he is dead and quite flatulent. Using the gassy body tohis advantage, Hank miraculously makes it back to the mainland. However, he now finds himself lost in the wilderness, and dragging the talking corpse named Manny along for the adventure.

Yeah, It's as bizarre as it sounds. 6/10

Forgettable.

Friday the 13th Part 4: The Final Chapter (1984)

The weakest one yet. It felt like the makers of the film had two ideas going into the project and just decided to smash them together and hope for the best; you've got the standard group of teens in peril stuff mixed with an isolated family with no protector coming up against Jason. Enjoyable enough watch, but not quite what I was hoping for. "The Final Chapter"...there are six more films to go.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword Of Destiny (2016)
An enjoyable martial arts film that had comedy as well as sorcery and violence, people running in the air waving swords about was is always amusing  7/10.
Have you watched the original Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (came out in 2000)? Now that was a proper movie. The new one looks like another poor attempt by hollywood (Netflix).

Friday the 13th Part 5: A New Beginning (1985)

A Jason-less Friday the 13th. It was enjoyable once I'd worked that bit out.

Based on a true story about 3 brothers making booze in 1920's prohibition America. Very good film with a great cast of Shia Lebeouf,Gary Oldman,Guy Pearce and the brilliant Tom Hardy. 8.5/10.

Keanu (2016)

Key and Peele play two guys trying to rescue their cat back from the clutches of a street gang by posing as criminals themselves. I was expecting a bit more from the film but it was still enjoyable. Did manage to get 'Faith' by George Michael stuck in my head afterwards.

was officially at the time the last ever film..............but they were making millions from films costing a pittance so they changed their mind. i suppose you cannot argue them carrying on as they made alot more money out of it.

I'm glad they carried it on! The next one was the one without Jason so I think they toyed with the idea of keeping the series going without him and then just decided to give the fans what they wanted by the boatload!

Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)

I don't think the relocation worked particularly well but I could just about stand it - the plot holes and the inconsistencies with the rest of the films were harder to accept, though.

Yep, I posted about this in the horror thread a few months ago. The best of Na Hongjin's films so far. Out in the UK right now I think. I might go see it in the cinema, as I watched with subtitles that were fan made and weren't great.

Friday the 13th Part 9: Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993)

I mentioned the plot holes and inconsistencies with the rest of the series in the last film but this one just decides to piss all over everything. I'd guess that this was a standalone horror film in the planning stages and the Jason theme was added towards the end. To give a little insight - the film starts with Jason being shot to shit by 100 or so FBI agents. We then see his autopsy being done. The pathologist then notices the heart beginning to beat again so he decides to eat it. The "spirits" then jump from Jason's body to the pathologist and Jason is no longer an evil human being with a backstory but a body-jumping evil spirit.

I loved Chaser the best. Wailing 2nd, The Yellow Sea 3rd. But all three are great movies.

Legend (2015)
A not very good film about The Krays but it's still better than the one with the kemp brothers. Tom Hardy was brilliant as both brothers but even that couldn't make it decent as the script was more like Eastenders. 5/10.

why are you doing this to yourself?

 I was scrolling down thinking the same thing. I remember watching a few of them as a kid but they must be shockingly bad now as they were pretty shit then.

I am intrigued as to how they could make one without Jason though....?

1-7 were all solid to excellent, in my opinion. 8 was not so hot and 9 was a disgrace. 10 is set on a spaceship 500 years in the future so I'm not holding out very much hope for that one.

5 was the one without Jason. He was "killed" at the conclusion of part 4 by a kid (Corey Feldman). They carried that story on into 5 with Corey Feldman's character being grown up and spending his time in a rehabilitation centre for troubled teens. At that centre one of the teens murders another with an axe. The father of the murdered teen is a hospital worker who is coincidentally called to the scene and sees his son in pieces. He goes crazy and decides to go on a murder spree - while dressed as Jason to pin the murders on him. Sneaky way to at least work Jason's image into the film without him actually being in it.

L'uccello dalle piume di cristallo (The Bird with the Crystal Plumage) (1970)

An American writer in Italy witnesses an attempted murder and, after attempting to help the victim, is thrust into the attention of a serial killer. Beautiful film. Twisty-turny plot, almost unbearable levels of suspense (aided by the excellent soundtrack), wonderful visuals and a nice sprinkling of bizarre minor characters (stuttering pimp and cat-eating artist going through his mystical period).
