Carlos is such a likeable bloke and a manager I'd love here but I think he'll probably go if they don't finish in the top six. With the amount of money he's had to improve the side he's failed to do so (subjective), and he seems to have gone completely against last season's philosophies of the attacking, flowing, expansive football from what I've seen of them this season, but I'm sure Walkley will confirm.

Personally I wouldn't care about the football if it was bringing results, but I can see why some would be frustrated now given they've just slipped out of the top six and they don't really seem to be progressing under him. He's done a great job regardless.

I've got a feeling Rotherham are going to turn over the owls tomorrow. What's going on Walkley_Owl ? At least you will have a Sheffield Derby next season.

I wouldn't be shocked if they did turn us over, officially relegated so no pressure on them now.

Good summary that JJH. I'd argue we recruited in the wrong areas in the summer, we needed a centre half and a proper winger but we loaded up on Abdi and Reach, I'd have hoped to have kept Lopez too.

Fletcher has been underwhelming and needs binning off, the Forestieri fall out (on the back of Fletcher wages) affected stuff, Injuries across the board and perhaps a directive of promotion from the upper management have seen us become more pragmatic than expansive and it's been hard to watch after last year's efforts.

I'm torn over whether to keep him but I'd give Carlos til the summer at least

Yeah, I thought Lopez was good when I watched him at the back end of last season, probably would've come cheaper than Abdi as well. Though having said that, Wednesday definitely haven't seen the best of him yet either, will have to see how he does when he's fit again.

Also thought Fletcher would have more of an impact than he has but hasn't really done it has he? That's fair enough about the winger situation as well, surprised he hasn't given Buckley/McManaman more of a chance.

Don't worry about us mate. If we beat you were still 5 behind you. Impossible gap to close with 5 games remaining :2thumb:

Just emphasises my belief we'll make the play-offs but get beat in the semis. We don't have enough about us to outscore good attacking sides like Brentford.

Can see us picking up a point or so out of the next two games as well so the pressure could really be on going into the last four games.

That should be us there now, 9 point gap over Fulham with 6 to go. Crazy when 3 games ago we were looking like the most likely team to drop out of the top 6!

Now to keep up the form, and continue bringing back our injured players - good to see Ilori get his first minutes in almost two months today.

Whilst everyone at the top bottles it, Preston, Wolves, Villa and Derby will fight it out in the playoffs :)

Bet Derby and Villa wish the season was a few weeks longer!

Or just if we'd hung on for the three points at Forest the other week instead of conceding in the 95th minute, or the PNE game before that..

Couple of points would have made a difference, as it is there's too much ground for us to make up. We'll have to win every game pretty much which we won't do. Ah well, some good early signs, roll on next year.

Quietly confident of being more involved in this thread next year - too many players out injured this season meant we've struggled for consistency.

1 or 2 new signings, and keeping the majority of our first XI together, and we can make a real challenge

Bit early to be hitting the pubs on a Wednesday.

Just watched highlights from last night. Got a bit giddy. Was joking about the top two by the way!

Beat Leeds this Saturday and things could get interesting dragging them into the mix with Fulham and Wednesday up there arses

Didn't realise Leeds only had one win in 5, we've just got to go for it on Saturday, no point playing it cautiously, we've got goals in this team.

Jermaine Beckford to make a shock return to the starting line-up, banging in 12 goals in the remaining 6 games to fire us to the play-offs.

He needs another ear infection, the last one turned him into Luis Suarez.

Yes, he needs to add a bit of bite to his game.

Hope it goes to the last day for the last playoff place between Wednesday and Fulham. That will be an awesome game to watch, as they both throw everything at it.

That win against Norwich should seal our place in the playoffs now, top 2 out of reach but we've got key players coming back at the right time with Palmer and Brown to come.

Reading away at top half teams:

Played 10. Won 1, Lost 9. Scored 7, Conceded 34

And our next game is away at a top half team...:cool1:

^ It is also slightly ridiculous that you've got a negative goal difference despite being fourth. I'm not sure how you've managed that.

You're the first team in the top 8 we've beaten this season. The first time we've scored 6 in the first half since 1908. Such a strange game.
