Stoke have accepted a bid of £24m for Marko Arnautovic. Wondered when they would see sense and sell up. £24m for a 28 year old striker who scored 6 league goals last season. Cracking bit of business.

West Ham have been the epitome of desperate when it comes to transfer windows since the 2011-12 season.

West Ham, who really need a good striker, sign a winger who can't be arsed half the time and a goalkeeper not all that much better than the options they already have. Good luck next season.

They're bringing Javier Hernandez back to the Premier League apparently.

West Ham's transfer policy is short sighted to say the least.

We do seem to struggle when it comes to dealings in the transfer windows but for a mid size club we do reasonably well to ho hum at the final seasons standings.

Everton fans what's Matthew Pennington like? he's due to sign on loan for us

know nothing about him, has he been on loan anywhere else before? we need defnders so i'm hoping we are signing a gem

He's mainly played at right back for us which isn't his natural position, he looks more suited to centre back. Given a run of games I think he'll be ok at championship level. He missed the majority of last season through injury, scored in the derby and was out of the team soon after

They're bringing Javier Hernandez back to the Premier League apparently.
He played most of Bayer Levurkusen's games last season, and only scored 11 times. Definitely not the prolific striker West Ham need.

While Andy Carroll is OK (7 goals in 18 games last season is a good return) he's injured too much.

But the season before he did well in a team that was performing much better.

Maybe one that needs the service (can West Ham provide that?)

Isn't Hernandez supposedly a good performer in his first tear then tails off.
Sure someone did a feature on him recently highlighting that.

GB and co, anything solid on interest in Slimani from you?
You're linked to a move for him in our local rag, but nothing more than a mention and Slimani fearing he'll be priced out of any move.
What say you?

Ross Barkley can fuck off @ £150k a week

I've wanted to sign him for a while but he would be coming in as a rotational player rather than first choice, that wage would be £60k higher than our current top earner or £20k higher if it's based on bonuses (I think Kane is on £90k + £40k in bonuses).

Yeah I don't really get where he's getting the idea from that he's worth that. Or anywhere close. If he was, then Everton wouldn't be letting him go.

Aye Stewart needs to go an forge a career for himself, he's a solid enough player but won't get a real chance at Liverpool.

Speaking of which, they've made an improved £66 mill bid for Keita which again has been rejected. Hmm, maybe it's not going to happen after all this one.

Are you seriously trying to tell me that "Operation don't drink Red Bull" didn't cause Leipzig to cave in and sell Keïta to Liverpool?

Fuck knows. We've been linked to well over 100 players this summer week. Don't think any of our reliable local journo's have reported on it. Daft money for a 29 year old coming off a poor season seems unlikely though.

In other news Liverpool legend Javier Manquillo was in Dublin yesterday for his medical with us.

I hope Morata managed to get all of that red dye out of his hair, he's signing for Chelsea.

He's probably got some blue dye going spare from when he bought blue and red when he was linked with PSG

I suspect come the end of the season Chelsea will be quite glad that they missed out on Lukaku.

Apparently they'll put in a final £70 mill bid to see if that suffices, but I hope they have it done one way or the other by the weekend so we know he's either coming, or move on to someone else as time is running out.

Don't think we have anyone lined up tbh. Klopp only wants players who can improve the squad.

We have reportedly had a 10mill offer for Arsenals Elneny accepted but the player has turned down a move because he likes life in London.
Tbh I think he'll get more games for Arsenal anyway as I imagine Wenger will throw him in for cup games with the number of games the Europa throws at you and it not being a priority.
Wouldn't mind him though. He's a box to box player so suits our system better than Arsenals, unless they switch to 3 at the back long term, where he'd be better placed to get starts.

We are in a similar position in our pursuit of Perišić, the difference is that Inter are willing to sell for a massively inflated price (relative to the actual worth of the player) whereas Leipzig seemed determined to hold on to Keita with money being of secondary importance.

I've got no idea who we will go in for if the Perišić move falls through, I can't think of too many players that fit that profile (proper winger, stays wide, whips in crosses), have the requisite quality and are available.

Szczesny for £12m and accepting an offer for Elneny for £10m, I don't think Arsenal have got the memo about this transfer window.
