Even Championship players are going for more than that.

Spurs have asked to be informed on the situation with Mahrez. But don't want to pay 50mill.
A club that paid 30mill for Sissoko, a shit, lazy bastard who played a large part in Newcastle getting relegated when the transfer market wasn't nearly as inflated as it is right now, and they want to cheapskate on Mahrez.
They want to replace Lamela in the first 11, another guy they spunked nearly 30 mill on, and Mahrez is a better player.
It's Kyle Walker money ffs.

City have apparently had a bid of £44.5m for Mendy rejected.

Monaco want £50m+.

Don't think we have anyone lined up tbh. Klopp only wants players who can improve the squad.
Indeed, Klopp is a bit stubborn that way and if we don't make a quality midfield signing, if Henderson's heel issues flair up again and with Lucas and Stewart moved on, it could leave us short there and with the amount of games potentially available, it could be the difference between success and continued failure. Maybe Grujic will step up this season to give us an extra option.

Unless someone else comes in with big money for Mahrez I can't see us doing it, we'll keep going in with shit offers unsettling the player.

Lamela was great for us before his injury, it all depends what he comes back like. If he returns to that form I think we'd be rotating him, Son, and Mahrez if we signed him with N'Koudou getting the odd bench appearance unless he really comes on.

Even in today's inflated market Mahrez is worth £35m tops.

a) He's only had one great season in career. Last season he reverted to type.
b) He wants to leave Leicester and has officially handed in a transfer request.

Maybe a desperate club might be willing to pay closer to Leicester's valuation closer to deadline day - like Spurs did last season with Sissoko, but he was coming off the back of an impressive Euros with France whereas Mahrez is coming off the back of an underwhelming season.

Sissoko was coming off the back of about 4 decent games after a season of total shite and years of not doing very much.
Mahrez was PFA player of the year. Last season wasn't in that bracket, but people are seriously overplaying the drop, and in the CL he was good.
You're after Perisic who has never had a season to be compared with Mahrez in the title winning year, and you're looking at 45mill+ for a guy who is 28. Its not like Inter, despite being a big club, have been performing any better than Leicester either over the last 3 seasons.

I find it odd that when we did win the title everybody said our players were bang average but for 3. Those 3 were 1,2 and 3 in the pfa votes that year with Mahrez taking it. So you can be the best player in the league, according to the masses dragging through a bunch of no marks to a miracle title, yet because you can't sustain that when you recieve extra attention from your opponents the following season, you should be valued at less than the likes of Bakayoko, who while good is no way in hell worth more than Riyad.
Michael Keane after one decent premier league season with Burnley has gone for 30mill. And defenders arent worth nearly as much as attacking players.
Theres enough examples of transfers going for around 35 mill for players nowhere near as good as Mahrez.
While he has come off the back of a poor (comparably) season, if he'd have repeated the feat of the prior year he'd be worth a shitload more than 35 mill and 50.
2 players weve been linked with in Sigurdson and Barkley are being priced at 50 mill and hes better than both. Now they might be overpriced, but that's todays market. And thats why hes easily worth more than 35mill. The reason people want to offer that kind of sum is because its little Leicester. Big clubs traditionally have only had to pay large sums to other big clubs and have been able to offer smaller clubs a lot less for their best players. Being bankrolled by billionaires seems to have escaped their notice.

On Sissoko, it was typical desperate deadline day signing. Him being versatile and his impressive performances at the Euros being fresh in the mind probably made Spurs think he was worth the risk. Obviously they got it wrong.

Perisic, he's shown far more consistency at a good level as opposed to Mahrez's one standout season. Plus he's been handpicked by Mourinho as someone he thinks will greatly improve his squad (doesn't look like any manager has done that for Mahrez). And there's only 2 years difference between the two so not sure what age has got to do with this. But it doesn't look like that's going to happen now as Inter seem to want Martial involved in any deal which is laughable.

I think Michael Keane will be a very good signing for Everton. Probably overpaid slightly but they obviously wanted him badly and had to match Burnley's valuation. And I'm not sure defenders aren't worth as much as attackers these days, City just spent £50m on Kyle Walker and will have to spend at least that again if they want the LB they're after. And I think Bonucci's move to Milan made him the most expensive player over 30 of all time.

And I'll be surprised if a club spends £50m on Barkley or Sigurdsson.

I think you should basically just retract your previous statements on his value, tell me what I want to hear and help me through this troubling time.

I wouldn't be troubled if I were you JimJams, it won't make much difference if you sell him for £35m or £50m, Leicester will still be very rich. And like I said earlier, as deadline day approaches and clubs get more desperate someone may be willing to pay something closer to your valuation.

Hopefully with him leaving we'll get to see more of this Demarai Gray chap. He was probably our best player at the u21 euros.

Lil Pea will be joining Wham then.
The London Evening Standard claim Arsenal are interested in Barkley.

Barca are putting in a £72 mill bid for Coutinho according to the Mail; with the way this window is going that would be the cherry on the cake of shite if he were to head off.

Unless Neymar moves, which he surely won't, then I wouldn't worry too much Salts.

Dear City,

You already have a world class striker in Aguero and a potentially world class striker in Jesus that could be Mbappe's equal or superior. Could you please fuck off?

Thanks,
Everyone.

I got a feeling that one could be on despite the huge costs and Barca wouldn't solely want Deulofeu for the left side. Coutinho himself has never angled for a move however and seems settled at Liverpool, and part of the attraction of going to Barca would be to play alongside his mate Neymar there which wouldn't happen if he went to PSG. I think he'll stay this time and move on next year if he continues to show the form he did when fully fit last season, but a formal bid coming in already is a bid worrisome.

VvD's pulling a Kenwyne Jones, as confirmed by Pellegrino. Time to sell him to the highest bidder now, shame.

Yeah, surprised you don't do what we did with Modric and sell him for less elsewhere.
