That's probably the best thing that's going to happen for us all summer. Well in Griezmann!

I knew you weren't excited by your transfer targets.

As long as you don't target Mbappe now, but that shouldn't be an issue since Mourinho doesn't approve of youth...

I don't think we'll get Mbappe. We definitely seem to be prioritising a number nine, though.

I'd go all in for Kane, personally.

He's a very good striker and will probably move this summer. He'd be a good signing, especially if it leaves more money for other areas of the squad to be improved.

A bit underwhelming next to Griezmann though you have to say.

Concerned about suggestions of Lukaku going to United. If Everton needed to replace him and had 20 odd million going spare, wanted a forward with the same skillset, a bit lower down the ladder but on his way up, then there's one rather obvious candidate I can think of....

Newcastle to get Tammy Abraham, and Newcastle to get Olivier Giroud. I know which one I think is more believable.

I like Lukaku and it looks quite likely that he'll end up here or with Chelsea.

Kane is a step above, though. Shame he'd be so difficult to sign.

Kane and Lukaku are on the same level imo. I'd prefer to have Lukaku because he's faster and stronger and bigger.

Kane's hold up play is better and he always performs against the bigger sides as well as the "minnows" whereas Lukaku seems more of a flat-track bully at times. Kane has scored 75 league goals in 102 appearances over the last three seasons whereas Lukaku has scored 53 league goals in 110 league games over the same time-span.

Kane plays for Spurs and Lukaku plays for Everton and that has an effect on both factors but Kane has really proven himself over the last three seasons and I'd have no worries about signing him whereas I'd have a couple of niggling doubts were we to sign Lukaku.

Obviously Kane's a very good player and I'd like either of them but to be fair Lukaku pretty much carried Everton for most of the season, the only other Everton player remotely close to his level is Coleman.

This is pretty much spot on, but I don't think any team in the world could price Kane away from Tottenham this season. He's still only 24 and he has a very good shot at winning the Premier League with Spurs. It's not like they can't offer decent wages themselves.

I don't know, there isn't a clear cut choice for centre forward this season as Aubameyang is PSG-bound. Morata, perhaps, but there'll be even more doubts about him than Lukaku. And the latter, for all his talent, will never be someone you want up front away to the European giants.

I thought Spurs had a notoriously low wage structure (relative to the other 5)...?

Agree, the main three that we are being linked to are Lukaku, Morata and Belotti. There are issues with all three but, like you say, Morata and Belotti are potentially riskier than a Lukaku signing - it's hard to call.

Morata and Belotti are both young strikers who are about Southamptonish quality with the potential to become better imo. I'd like to sign someone who's already Man United quality.

I think Levy has relaxed the wage structure - Kane and Vertonghen are on good money and they will need to follow suit with Alli, Eriksen and Alderweireld. I think he would be willing to pay Kane a bit more (maybe £150k range) if he ever wanted to leave. That said, they'll never compete with the other big clubs in this respect. For comparison, Kane got a contract extension last year and is currently earning the same wage as Jesse Lingard. He could probably double, if not triple his wage if he wanted to move.

You what? We've got Gabbiadini and Austin.

That's one of the main reasons Walker wants out this summer apparently. Spurs won't offer him a deal like Manchester City etc will.

It's funny that this forum almost died during the season (goes to show how bloody boring it was) but when the transfer rumours starts swirling we're cracking as ever.

Morata is fucking shit. Cant believe there is ever any interest in him.

Suggestions and tabloid links that Loftus-Cheek will be this season's Chelsea loanee at Bournemouth. Yes please. Reportedly depends what midfield business Chelsea themselves do though. If it happens, I hope it'd continue the improvement curve of Ake over Atsu.

I have nothing to back this up but with the Griezman transfer falling through and the emergence of Isco under Zidane, I reckon Utd will go in for Bale this Summer.

Off to Milan according to reports. between 50 and 70 million European dollars and 8mil a year in wages. Crazy.

Tammy Abraham rumours picking up pace. Not sure of the point from the clubs or players pov, seems like a daft deal to me.

We've had a long-standing love affair with Bale so I wouldn't be surprised to see us test the water again.
