Great move for Abraham, knowing Clement from his time with the Chelsea youth will be a big plus.

Meh, good luck to him taking Llorente's place.

Sky Sports:
Sport Bild in Germany says Liverpool are still in contention to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after Borussia Dortmund's deal with Paris Saint-Germain fell through.

Dortmund want Aubameyang's future sorted by the end of July and if no transfer can be agreed by then he will stay in Germany.

We should be all over the Iheanacho deal, if City don't insert a buy back clause. :(

To the best of my knowledge, we haven't tried to sign anyone yet because our new sporting director just arrived.

Stop reading shit sources.

If Chelsea manage to get one or both of their Sandro and Bonucci deals complete, it'll open the door for Zouma and/or Ake to be sold according to recent pieces in tabloids and the Metro. And if Ake is up for sale, whilst I don't doubt there would be a long list of suitors, I'd hope we're near the front of the queue.

I'd love Zouma. Can't understand why Chelsea would give up on him.

4.5 million for Hughes Sky say.

Decent deal that, it's a bit pf a punt but a relatively inexpensive one for this level. Can't imagine Derby are best pleased.

That's weird, because to the best of everyone else's knowledge he was set for PSG until Emery changed his mind.

Apparently the only guy pushing to get the deal done for Aubemayang there was Kluivert and he's been punted now so it's dead in the water.

Klopp and Aubemayang didn't have a great working relationship at Dortmund and he's no interest in signing him at Liverpool. Colossal shame but we'll have to make do with Solanke. :ffs:

If Auba was actually available to us, I'd be inclined to think we'd buy him. A world class striker might not be available to us again the next 5 or 10 years (it's 10 years since we bought the last one), it's not an opportunity you can pass on. A team is only ever as good as its striker and a world class striker would likely do more for us than the rest of our targets combined. If we were prepared to spend £60M on a centre back then based on potential return Auba's price shouldn't scare us at all

I feel people sometimes underestimate the value of goal scorers, still. An average team with a very good striker will often be on par with a very good team with an average striker.

On the other hand, I don't see why he'd come so I don't think we'll sign him either.

I certainly would like another striker to come in. However there was enough goals spread out the side last season and Salah will add to that, so I personally just want a class defender in now as I feel thats a bigger priority, to get the goals against stats down and to stop having days like Bournemouth away, Burnley away, Hull away, drawing with Sunderland away, Swansea at home etc etc. If Aubemayang were available though and willing to come, of course I'd be all over that as well! :D

And what's the lean?
Since FSG took over all signings have been presented with a wide range of pictures of the player leaning against things in often a very awkward manner. This lean is often a good indication as to whether the player will be a success or not. Clyne was world class, whereas Andy Carroll tried to get the wall to lean against him.

Here's hoping Salah goes for the Del lean, then.

If Auba was set in stone, Emery would have had no power in saying no to the move. As said, we didn't have a sporting director and the chairman was calling the shots. If Emery had a problem with us buying Auba then he could have gone to hell as far as Qatar is concerned.
Thankfully we do have a proper sporting director now (bye, Kluivert) so we should be more structured in that department.

Napoli made a £10.5m bid for Moreno on Thursday but the bid was rejected.
Liverpool wants a swap with Napoli there Moreno goes to Napoli and Faouzi Ghoulam goes to Liverpool. (Mirror)

Not sure what's worse. Bidding that much for Moreno or rejecting that much

You won't get Ghoulam in a straight swap for Moreno.

Better to try and fail than not to try at all Schtevie! :D

Thinking about it you would actually be quite a good stepping-stone to Real Madrid in terms of a guaranteed starting place at a big club in the Champions League (something Arsenal can't offer), assuming you get past the qualifier. You'd probably offer him four or five times his reported wage, too.

Still implausible, though!

Been linked with George Friend - a solid enough player for Boro but now almost 30 so 8 million seems a bit steep.
